Lesbiangaybisexual and transgender (LGBT) rights in the United States have evolved in recent decades. However, LGBT Americans may still face some legal and many social challenges not experienced by non-LGBT residents, particularly in states with large conservative populations, such as in the Deep South; in rural areas; and in some Native American tribal nations.

U.S. federal law does not explicitly include protections against discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation or gender identity. In June 2020, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that sexual orientation and gender identity are included under “sex” as a prohibited ground of employment discrimination in the Civil Rights Act of 1964.

Lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) people in the U.S. state of Florida may face legal challenges not experienced by non-LGBT residents. Same-sex sexual activity became legal in the state after the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision in Lawrence v. Texas on June 26, 2003, and same-sex marriage has been legal in the state since January 6, 2015.
Vermont is often regarded as one of the most LGBT-friendly states in the country. It was the first state to legally recognize same-sex unions, when it established civil unions for same-sex couples in 2000. Same-sex marriage was legalized in 2009, and opinion polls have found large majorities in support.
Virginia Beach has a long history of being a  gay friendly town and in downtown we can find a few gay friendly bars as well as Rainbow Cactus Company is the most famous gay bar in Virginia Beach, VA.
Virginia Beach, a coastal city in southeastern Virginia, lies where the Chesapeake Bay meets the Atlantic Ocean. A 3-mile boardwalk stretches along its beach-lined oceanfront. The bayside First Landing State Park marks the 1607 arrival of the Jamestown colonists from England. The Virginia Aquarium & Marine Science Center exhibits ocean life including sharks, rays and sea turtles in globally themed habitats.

Excellent room cleaning service, the place is left sparkling, the cleaning personnel was very nice and professional.

Very nice equipped kitchen, but the hotel is not eco-friendly with the breakfast service.

This is a fairly new hotel. It has a indoor pool, patio with a fire pit, grill and TV. The rooms are spacious and clean. This is a great option for long trip because these rooms have great kitchens. The staff was nice and friendly.
This hotel is located near stores and restaurants. I do recommend that the hotel upgrades their coffee machines in the rooms to Keurig.
Great addition to Town Center. Hotel is 6 new NEW! Close to restaurants and shopping. Room was spacious, clean and mattress was comfortable. Staff was friendly and professional. They have a variety of items to select from for breakfast. Will definitely stay at this location again.
The hotel is central to Norfolk and the oceanfront. Very close to a nice shopping center.
The hotel has large rooms and comfortable beds. Good breakfast. There is lots of parking and the hotel is easy to find.
It was mostly a pleasant stay. The staff was nice and accommodating. We came a bit early but got the room right away. The room and common areas were very clean, the shower was the most comfortable with nice hot water and a great water pressure. The swimming pool was good but not all of the towels were clean. The breakfast was of a good quality.

The Hotel was clean and with a modern decor all throughout, including in the rooms.

The Bathroom had a really nice set of shelving to store your personal Toiletries, and plenty of water pressure and hot water, and the Towels were fluffy enough as well. The Oceanfront Private Balcony in the Room was a very nice feature and was clean and comfortable. The Beds were on the softer side, but were good enough to get a comfortable rest.

The Room had a desk and comfortable chair, and some drawers to put your things in if you desired, but they are not big and deep drawer space, and there are also some hooks on the wall to hang your stuff up. The Room has a closet with an Iron and Board and a very nice big sized complimentary personal Safe to secure your belongings.

The Room has a small mini Refrigerator and mini Microwave, which is good to have in the Room, along with a Coffee Maker. There are some Electrical outlets around on the Desk and also on the Bed side Table, with some USB Ports attached.

The oceanfront view was outstanding. We saw dolphins each day from our balcony, and that was a treat. We were steps away from the beach. There is an on site parking lot. There are many great places to eat and shop nearby. The boardwalk has a lot to offer.

You can rent bikes, a scooter, or walk. There was a stage right next to the hotel with nightly live music. They had an art show going on during our stay. This hotel was in a great location. Much thanks to all for making our week an amazing one!! I’ll definitely be back.

Great deal on oceanfront room on 4th floor. Room was more than adequate and most importantly, clean. Extra coffee for in-room coffee maker was provided when requested. All staff we encountered were friendly and offered assistance. Front desk check-in clerk, housekeeping attendants, manager, and breakfast buffet attendees were all fantastic!

Oh, and that continental breakfast?! Sausage, scrambled eggs, choice of bagels, croissants, or toast, along with cereal, waffle station, oatmeal, fresh fruit, and smoothies were served on day one! Next day, most of the same, except add biscuits and gravy, cheesy egg omelets. Truly a great start to the day.

A gorgeous hotel with the best customer service in the hotel industry. The rooms are stunning with wonderful views. Strongly recommend water side view.

Beds are extremely comfortable with top of the line linens. Showers are spacious with waterfall shower heads.

In my opinion, Glass Light Hotel and Galleria is the best hotel is the Norfolk area.

One of the most comfortable Marriott properties I have visited. Very clean and modern. Staff was great and accommodating. Location was great and convenient. Entire three day stay was great. Everyone in our party enjoyed this Marriott property.
Definitely a great location in Downtown Norfolk! Walking district to the Waterside District, the mall, museums and restaurants. The hotel is beautiful with a welcoming lobby. The rooms are spacious and beautifully decorated. The shower is awesome and the beds and pillows are super comfy. Looking forward to my next stay.
The wonderful sculptures are incredible. Each floor contains Art, each room contains a piece of Art, you can find Art pieces all over this magnificent hotel. A showcase of ART on a level one has never experienced before especially at a Hotel…a MUST SEE! Our particular corner room was spacious, full of natural light and the decor is not to be missed!
Dinner in the Restaurant with Michelin Star chef Serge Gouloumes is not to be missed either. Delightful French dishes that one would not necessarily expect in Norfolk more so perhaps in a European French Bistro setting as in Paris! Our take always…best Octopus dish on any Menu east of the Mississippi.

his location had recently opened up and it was a delight to stay even during the pandemic.

Modern furnishings and decor. The staff was friendly and professional. Right in the middle of down Norfolk so walkable to eatery and shopping(including the huge mall).

I only wish I was able to try the bar(closed) and dining. Room service menu was limited(and limited) but understandable.

We ordered food at Grace O’Malley(Irish Pub) which was next door and it was delish! It was quick fix before we headed over to my relatives home(who has FISH) -don’t go to a water city and not get seafood!!!There was complimentary bottles of cold water on floor in a mini fridge in the hallway which I thought was a nice thought.

The room was huge and very comfortable. I was especially happy with the bed height—didn’t have to jump up to get onto it. Check in quick and friendly. Each floor has a piece of glass artwork. The first floor gallery was small and interesting. There is artwork everywhere here. There are still the original mail drops from the office building days.
The retro mini fridge very cute. Tons of towels and a lighted, timed wash basin. The restaurant is right beside the bar. The menu is limited as was the wine selection, BUT great quality. The chef is a two star Michelin chef. Our meals were great! Service very attentive. Breakfast menu also limited but fit our bill. Surprised to see the chef there that early in the morning—preparing for the evening meal perhaps. We will be back.
