This hotel impressed me from the start. They made this property for millennials and made some cool changes with them in mind. No more front desk.the bartender checks you in.
That makes so much more sense and has to save some major cash. The deposit is only $20. They have cool games that you can play in the lobby.

The bathrooms are in the center of the room and the walls are glass…. It is really cool.
They have an iron and steamer in each floor not each room. I really love how they did this one and will be going back.
Let me preface this review by saying the Moxy is not for everyone. It is unlike a traditional hotel – the rooms are small, industrial boutiques.
You’ll get floor to ceiling windows but you won’t find a proper desk. The ironing stations are communal, but you’ll find a neat steamer in your bathroom.
You check in at the bar and the staff are using Macbooks decked out in stickers.
The lobby is less a lobby and more of a trendy hangout space. There is no room service, but you can sure get some popcorn, gummy bears, or snack mix at the bar.
The bed backboards look like they have giant suspenders (design choice I’m sure), but the mattress is super comfy. Did you know toilets can be square shaped? I love it.
The best part of the Moxy is the service. I stay here pretty frequently for work in DC, and the staff has made me feel welcome. I frequent the bar enough that they’ve memorized my drink order. (I’m not one for variety.)
The Moxy isn’t perfect – the sink faucets are strangely low – but they for sure make up for it.
Moxy hotels are specific and you love it or hate it. We love it. Yes, some can complain that rooms are small, not functional.
That’s true if you looking for spending time in the room. Moxy hotels are targeted to young people who prefer to explore the city than stay in the room.
The check-out is at 12 pm (important benefit), you get drink at check in (nice welcome gesture).
The rooms are clean and have everything you need to get good sleep and refresh in the morning. This hotel is relatively new.
They got pluses for: very nice staff, outdoor space, clean rooms, new inferior, and overall experience.

The hotel is located in the Dupont Circle neighborhood away from the crowds and noise of the tourist areas, the Dupont Metro station is a block away (just a few stops north of the Metro, Smithsonian, and Gallery Place Metro stations where you can walk to all of the major attractions and five stops south of the Friendship Heights station where there are high end department and discount stores), the neighborhood felts safe with lots of shops and bookstores, it’s a $20 cab ride from the airport so you don’t need a car, there’s a wine/spirits store near the Dupont Metro station, there are restaurants and gay bars on 17th street a long block away down Q Street, the hotel restaurant and bar are beautiful, the rooms are beautiful and comfortable, free wifi, and helpful, friendly staff.
The hotel is located in the wonderful Dupont Circle neighborhood, which is very upscale.
I took several walks alone around the neighborhood at night and I felt very safe.
The bar in the hotel drew a lot of locals and there are several other types of bars (i.e. gay bars) within walking distance. Different options for food are close by – fast food like Subway and Starbucks – as well as nicer restaurants. CVS drug store is also close.
The Metro is around the corner, which makes easy access to National Airport and other tourist destinations.
The free Wifi is a very nice amenity. You’ll enjoy your stay in DC if you stay here.
The location right on DuPont Circle is a joy. There is a Starbucks right across the street as well as Kramerbooks and Afterwords. Since this is the center of DC’s gay and lesbian district, there are many good restaurants within walking distance.
The on-site restaurant is a fairly typical hotel restaurant. The bar’s happy hour from 6 to 8 is crowded beyond belief – beer and cocktails discounted, but not the wine.
OK, so I’ve been to amazing hotels in DC, like the Ritz and the St. Regis, but nothing compares if you want to be in the heart of the gayborhood at Dupont Circle.
Updated rooms with glass bath walls, dimmable lights, and two restaurants that have views for all day boy watching. In the center of gay everything, the staff is friendly and the concierge Michael, is amazing.

I loved this hotel. It is located close to everything if you don’t mind 20-30 min walk and surrendered with some cool breakfast/ brunch places. Room was spacious but on a dark side.

The hotel lobby is beautiful! It has a chill vibe and is a really nice place to just sit and relax.
Our room was a standard king room and it was fine. You could tell the age of the hotel when you looked at the fine details – paint chipping, old moulding, no fan in the bathroom, etc.
One thing that I didn’t like was the top of the toilet had moved and you could see black ick all around the rim and the inside.
Not a huge thing because it’s not a common thing to clean, but it was like that when we first walked in and noticeable. Everything else was very clean though.
My biggest complaint was the free breakfast that came with the room.
It was a buffet of carbs, cereal, a selection of cured meats, and fruit. There was one yogurt option but that was it.
It was very heavy with breads, pastries, etc. and if you wanted eggs or bacon (or more normal breakfast items) you had to pay for it. So on one hand it was nice to have the option to have a free meal but it wasn’t great.
Overall I would definitely stay at the St. Gregory again because the positives far outweighed the few negatives. Also, the location was great and couldn’t be beat.

The hotel is really well located in Dupont Circle and if you ever go to DC for the Gay Pride Parade then this hotel is right on the parade route.
There are plenty of good places to eat nearby and it is really easy to walk into Georgetown straight down P street.
Great area to be in! Easy access to Georgetown, National Mall, Foggy Bottom, NW clubbing/nightlife/restaurants. Our room was small but comfortable. We had zero view, but were rarely in our room. Pool is nice, but only gets direct sun for only a few hours a day the way it’s positioned. The gym is nice and has adequate equipment.
We didn’t use it as we walked everywhere – so we got our exercise that way. The complimentary wine social was very nice, but could use some upgrading on the snacks. The olives/crackers were fine, but the goldfish/animal cracker combo felt childish and unrefined to accompany the wine.
Range of guests was very diverse from young to old couples, straight/gay couples – this hotel appeared to accommodate all – great job for appealing to everyone! Great time for a 3 night stay. If you’re staying over a Sunday – DuPont has a wonderful little farmers market about 2 blocks away! Must try. And to comfort those tired feet/legs after a long sightseeing day, Comfy Feet Spa a few blocks away is a great choice.
We were assigned a “Spa 1 King Bed” room, and it was spacious and clean. The color scheme is warm and pleasant. There was a walk-in closet, a sofa bed, and of course, the usuals: a king bed, nightstands, a television, a mini fridge, and a bathroom with a jacuzzi tub.
Breakfast/Meal Options- 4/5. Wine was offered in the restaurant for wine hour, and we found ourselves dining on a tasty shrimp appetizer; Ezra and Laura, who worked in the restaurant were welcoming and made the experience enjoyable.

My first time in DC & I chose to stay in The Embassy Row Hotel because of the Location, Photos & Reviews. Upon arrival, I couldn’t help but notice the beautiful decor and ambiance of the area. Very quiet block and serene setting.

The Embassy Row is very gay-friendly, and caters to a diverse clientele. This will be my go-to hotel the next time I’m in D.C.
The property has been completely remodeled and is very trendy. The rooms are a bit small but very, very nice and clean.
The staff is incredibly friendly (Wanda Barnes was particularly helpful), and there’s a nice buzz in the hotel.
I enjoyed the bar/restaurant/coffee shop off the lobby. Try their brunch, it’s delicious. I also enjoyed the rooftop pool, which is small but a nice place to relax.
Location is ideal (about a 2 minute walk to a Metro station) and the price seemed pretty good. The hotel had a variety of guests, from families to business people to young couples, and is very gay friendly. I would absolutely recommend Embassy Row.

The aesthetic is very contemporary and youthful, but it’s done tastefully and not “over the top”.
The bed was comfortable and the TV was high quality and fairly large.
I’m not sure if it was design or luck, but I managed not to be disturbed by surrounding noise from other rooms, people walking in the halls, housekeeping, etc.
I would recommend this place for anyone coming to DC who wants to be close to the gay bars, restaurants, etc. It’s ridiculously close to Dupont circle, and within walking distance to Logan Circle.
Also very convenient if you want to take the Metro to get around. I’d stay here again, without a doubt, if there was a good deal.
