This was a good option, we had space and their pull out sofa bed was comfortable. Our king size bed was very comfortable too.
We were only able to use the hot tub on one night as it was too crowded on the other 3 nights. It was Gay Pride week while we stayed (we were there from Jan. 25-28) and this hotel was the head quarters so was very busy.
They have a great ski boot drying service/valet available and my sons used the complimentary bikes one afternoon after skiing.
I would recommend this hotel and it is close to the action yet very quiet compared to the other Village hotels in this category.
The Aava lacks a few things that are standard at most hotels in Whistler. Namely any sort of kitchen facilities in anything other than premium suites. They do have a mini fridge, but it would be nice if they’d at least put a microwave in the room. There are lots of places to eat within a very short walk, just means what you save on the room you spend at restaurants.
Some sort of formal setup somewhere to do waxing or maintenance to your ski/boarding equipment would be nice. But on request, they will provide you with a drop sheet that you can take to the parking garage to wax your equipment. A bit hard to find, but there are plugs down there. The easiest was right beside the ramp… Unfortunately this makes hot waxing a bit tricky if its cold out though, being so close to the open door, and well lit for a parking garage, a little lack luster for doing that type of work.
Their facilities are pretty good. It’s not a luxury hotel, but it’s fresh and modern having been recently renovated. Chairs at the check in desk are a nice touch after so many travelers being weary after long journeys to get to Whistler.
The rooms are kept clean. They have regular cable, not that lodgenet crap that keeps trying to sell you pay-per-view movies. Both wired and wireless internet which is super easy to connect to. You’re not constantly needing to log-in everytime you want to connect. The beds are comfy. Nothing has that “worn” look that is so common in hotels.
Mostly what I like about the place though, is the layout and location. There’s an outside stairway that leads right to complimentary ski lockers and the parking garage. Super easy after a day on the mountain. It would be nice if they’d remove the bike ramp during winter months though, seeing as people are in ski boots on the stairs. The lobby, while stylish, isn’t excessive. And while I was worried about it being on the outskirts of the village, this actually turned out to be a blessing. Easy to get to by car on arrival. Close walk to everything, while being JUST far enough away to avoid all the noise of the village if you wanted to sleep in, or not listen to all the partiers going home at night.
The walls/floors seemed thick enough I never heard my neighbours… But the doors sure let a lot of hallway noise in. Par for the course at any hotel I’ve ever stayed at, but further away from the elevator is better as you’ll have fewer people passing your room.
The housekeeping staff seemed to be very responsible. None of my personal items were ever touched, and money I left out was still there when I got back.
While everything is well maintained, some extra attention to detail would have been nice, just to step the place up that one extra notch. For example, I couldn’t find a burnt out light in the place, but they weren’t all the same colour temperature.
The hot tub was fantastic. It was hot, but not so hot you couldn’t stay in and enjoy it for extended periods of time. And the view of the mountains while soaking and enjoying a beverage was pretty good if you ignored the netting for the driving range next door.
The clientele seemed to be from all over, and very chill and laid back. Easy to strike up conversations if one so chose.
And for those for whom it matters, VERY Gay friendly.
Overall a great experience. Good value for for the price.

The Mountainside lodge is only a few hundred feet from a gondola. The staff are friendly and very helpful. There is underground parking and easy access to the Whistler Center part of the village including the net door Shoppers drug mart and a nearby grocery and liquor store. Our particular room had a full kitchen, fireplace, and sauna with sleeping for 4. For two of us it was very romantic on valentines day evening. We can not think of a better place to stay at Whistler unless you want to spend double. The outdoor hot spa and pool are excellent.
This is a very good facility close to everything in Whistler Village and a short easy walk to the lifts. We stayed in a one bedroom unit and the units are large, well designed and well equipped. It is so nice staying at a place where there is a relatively large amount of cupboard and drawer space for clothes. Nice kitchen equipped enough to allow meal preparation to save money. A friendly and helpful staff round out the experience.
The resort lodge is perfectly situated in the center of the Whistler Village. Within walking distance to boutique shops, sporting goods stores, restaurants and bars, food stalls, lots of souvenir shops, and other assorted stores. Most importantly, it’s within minutes to the gondola station for the Peak 2 Peak experience of the Blackcomb and Whistler mountains. It’s our first time to stay at the resort lodge and was pleasantly surprised at the accessibility of so many things to do and see around the mountain village. It’s a great home base for exploring the area.
We had a great stay at a studio unit (wish a one bedroom unit was available) for 3 nights. The unit was clean and comfortable. The kitchenette is acceptable for its intended purpose.
Great location right in the middle of Whistler Village and just a walk away from the gondolas and lifts. We booked these through our Shell Vacations membership for the week. Our room was a loft suite that sleeps six with a sofa bed, a queen bed in the loft, and the kitchen booth converts to a bed also. Another cool feature was the in-room dry sauna in the loft and the jacuzzi tub downstairs.
Although it was extremely cold due to some arctic wind (i.e. -19 Celsius) we had a good time snowboarding and visiting the numerous restaurants and shops that were all in walking distance. We really enjoyed the peak2peak gondola that goes between Whistler and Blackcomb mountains.
This is a perfect skier’s location.Loved the spacious loft–rooms with kitchen, 2 baths, in-room sauna and fire place. Access to equipment storage was a little inconvenient but worked ok. Outdoor pool was appealing but hot tub isn’t hot enough and doesn’t look appealing. Staff is very helpful and friendly. Very easy access to shopping, dining, other entertainment and skiing.

All suites feature a trendy and sophisticated design, full kitchen with high end appliances, dining area, living area with a cozy fireplace, private balconies and an in suite washer and dryer.
The amenities are endless with an outdoor heated pool, two hot tubs, a sauna, eucalyptus steam room, fitness centre, a games room and a media room, which provides two daily movie viewings. Come experience all Evolution and Whistler Creekside have to offer!
The entry area into the room with a place to leave your coats, shoes, etc and the washer/dryer unit were a great feature. The kitchen was very well stocked and had very good appliances. The living room was comfortable and the dining table sat 4. Each of the bedrooms had a king bed, flat screen tv, en-suite bathroom and the rooms were large. There was plenty of closet space in the room. The beds were very comfortable.
The bathrooms were huge and had a separate large soaking tub and shower, plus the heated floors were an extra perk! We loved sitting out on the balcony- i only wish there was a light outside so that we could have used the balcony later into the evening. The workout room was small but had everything you needed for a nice workout. The pool, sauna and hot tub were great and there was even a BBQ there for use. This was probably one of the cleanest places I’ve ever stayed- absolutely immaculate.
We enjoyed being just out of the main part of town as it was nice and quiet, but there was a grocery store, a couple little places to eat and bus stops right outside the hotel.
The location is also great as there is a bus stop directly in front of the Hotel. Take bus #20 to the village and back. There is a Tim Horton’s right next door and a grocery store across the street. In my mind it was pretty much the perfect place to relax.
Cozy, modern apartments well-designed and clean with everything you need. The beds were super comfortable, including the sofa bed but the airconditioning is positioned over this bed, so we needed to keep it switched off the whole night to avoid being chilled. The kitchen has all amenities plus complimentary tea and coffee for newcomers.
The hotel is located in a sort of shopping area/stroll where you can buy souvenir t shirts or stock up on groceries at Creekside Market, a walk of just 10 min. Restaurants like Creekbread (Pizza) and a Diner (breakfast/brunch) as well as a convenience store are located just across the road. There is housekeeping service so no need to worry about making beds etc.
This place is a short drive (5-10 minutes?) away from Whistler Village and is located in Creekside Village. Creekside has its own little grocery store, a Starbucks and a restaurant that serves a nice variety of food. There is also indoor heated parking, a pool, outdoor fireplace and two outdoor hot tubs. Although Creekside Village doesn’t have a ton of restaurant options, there are a handful of restaurants right across the street that you can walk to..pizza, sushi, Italian and a couple of others.
Great location! Less than 5 minute walk to the Creekside Gondola, Creekside Market, Can-Ski rental shop and Whistler Kids. The one bedroom unit was modern, very clean, and spacious. It had a king bed and a sofa sleeper. The fully equipped kitchen made stay-at-home meals easy. The entire unit tends to be quite warm thanks to the NuFloor heated tiles in the bathroom and the gas fireplace.
This hotel exceeded my expectations by far. We had a washer and dryer, full kitchen including dishwasher, heated floors in the bathroom, 3 balconies, and amazing views. The king sized beds are amazing; the most comfortable bed I’ve ever slept in. I would definitely stay here again. Staff are attentive, rooms are amazing, and the facilities such as the outdoor hot tub and the games rooms were nice perks to have.
