Lesbiangaybisexual and transgender (LGBT) rights in the United States have evolved in recent decades. However, LGBT Americans may still face some legal and many social challenges not experienced by non-LGBT residents, particularly in states with large conservative populations, such as in the Deep South; in rural areas; and in some Native American tribal nations.

U.S. federal law does not explicitly include protections against discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation or gender identity. This hotel is a great option for anyone traveling to Wichita. The free hotel shuttle gets you to and from the airport with ease. The hotel itself is right on the river and so close to the old town that on a nice day it would be a great walk and in wintery weather it’s a quick ride away. The rooms are in excellent repair and very clean. And the restaurant has great dining options even for vegetarians – often something hard to find in the midwest. If I am back in Wichita, this will be my hotel again.

Great place to stay for a weekend event, conference or business. Hyatt is right on the Riverwalk with access from their property. A wonderful walk to Exploration Place Museum and the Keeper of the Plains. Paddle boarding/kayaking rentals are available along the river walk! Easy access to downtown, Old TownOld Town Farmers Market, other museums and lovely neighborhoods! Requesting a room with a view of the river provides you with western views and sunsets.

The hotel is clean and contemporary and the staff here is top notch. Greyson welcomed us at check in before we were whisked to our room on the 17th floor. Hyatt beds are the best and did not disappoint here. Our room was spacious and faced north, with large windows overlooking downtown and the Arkansas River. A keen eye could also spot the famous Keeper of the Plains statue in the distance. We were treated to a lightning storm off in the distance our first night and our perch high above the city allowed for the perfect view.

The hotel is in an ideal location and isn’t far from the Intrust Bank Arena, Old Town or any of the other popular downtown spots. Parking in the attached garage is $7 per day with in and out privileges.

Dinner at Harvest was fantastic. The blue cheese filet was cooked to perfection and was my favorite meal of the weekend. Our server, Dylan, was amazing! He knows the menu and was the only server the night we dined there. I don’t know how he managed to take care of the entire restaurant on his own but, he was a rock star. Hotel restaurants tend to be hit or miss but, our experience was great and we’ll be back.

We were very pleased with the Hyatt Regency Wichita and will definitely return the next time we’re in town.

This is a newer hotel in a really nice area. Very clean. Close to many shops and restaurants. It was also a 2-3 minute drive to Super Target, and near many athletic facilities. I thought the location was great for our basketball tournament weekend.

Location was convenient right off the freeway, with several restaurants and stores within walking distance and even more within a 3-5 minute drive. Our rooms were nice, clean linens and mold-free bathrooms and working heat and A/C. Our room was right next to the elevator, which you could hear if you were not running the fan but was muted with the fan going. Soundproofing could be a little better, you could clearly hear people talking in the hall.

Breakfast was your standard hotel fare, I usually just grabbed a bagel or a hard boiled egg and had a larger lunch. Lobby was spacious, and they were nice enough to let us play cards down there for a couple evenings when we could not fit everyone in a room. Nice to have a bar on property, and our bartender the one night we partook was very friendly. Plenty of parking, even with the property filled to capacity one night.

This is a relatively new motel and it shows in the upgraded and very comfortable room. From the large flat screen TV to the huge walk in shower, it is obvious that this motel was built with the customer in mind. The staff was courteous, friendly, and extremely helpful. I would strongly recommend this motel.

This is one of their brand new motels with the new look, updates etc. So it’s very clean & beautifully maintained. Front desk personnel were fresh, friendly, sharp.

Updates we like: roomy, comfortable lobby for meet-&-greets. There’s a large flat screen tv (tho we found it more annoying than helpful). And there’s a well-stocked bar!

The staff (especially the manager) were very courteous and helpful, and she always had a smile on her face (exceptional considering she pulled an all-nighter and checked us in early the day before, and out the next morning)!

-Rooms are clean, have DirecTV and HDTVs that are set correctly, and don’t look beat up or otherwise neglected.

-Morning breakfast has your usual staples for a free continental breakfast, and while they’re not stingy at all, they do shut the breakfast down hard when it’s time.

-The bar area offers a limited number of mixed drinks and a couple of on-tap beers. –

-The entrance/lobby is large, and accommodates a number of large families getting together or just people wanting to eat together/catch up.

-The pool is nice, heated, and was great for the kids to go take a swim in.

-The area the hotel is at is one of the nicer areas in the whole of Wichita, with new shops and restaurants either in the same area or minutes away.

-The rooms were very sound resistant–did not hear loud neighbors at all when we slept, and barely even heard the loud thunderstorm going on outside that night.

Ultimately, this is an excellent hotel to stay at, whether you’re looking for a good night’s sleep or you’re planning to visit Wichita.

Here on business? We will keep you connected with complimentary high speed internet and a fully equipped business center. This hotel is conveniently located close to Via Christi, Flight Safety, Textron, and Koch Industries.
This hotel is right on the north end of Old Town close to a number of bars and restaurants. Check in was a breeze and we requested a high floor which we received. Our room was a corner room so we had nice large windows on two sides.

There are lots of Marriott options around Wichita which was good because I was going to use my points. At first I was looking at hotels that were closer to my niece in the suburbs and which required less points. Then I decided, heck, if we are going to only be in Wichita once in our lifetime we might as well stay in the city. This location in Old Town was perfect.

Everything was within walking distance which is to say when we had a few drinks at some of the many bars, no problem with having to drive. Also, in keeping with the character of Old Town, the Courtyard is in a converted warehouse with its brick facade. Converted to a hotel in 2006, it actually looks newer than that. It is well maintained and professionally managed.

Inside the hotel has a central atrium, sorta like an Embassy Suites but more sophisticated. The lowest floor of the atrium is where the restaurant, gym, etc. is located. The first floor has reception and a coffee bar and some guest rooms. The rest of the guest rooms have windows into that atrium or with views of the outside world. The one recommendation someone else made, that I will pass along, is to not face the front of the building. Across the street is a popular bar with live music outside.

I don’t expect to be in Wichita again but if I am a will definitely stay at this hotel.
