Namibia is considered to be one of the most friendliest destination for gay tourism in Africa along with other former colonies , tourist don’t feel the threat if they act normally and most of the hotels chains in the capital are gay friendly hotels Windhoek.
Lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) persons in Namibia face legal challenges not experienced by non-LGBT residents. Discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity is not banned in Namibia, and households headed by same-sex couples are not eligible for the same legal protections available to opposite-sex couples. However, despite the lack of legal rights experienced by Namibian LGBT citizens, acceptance and tolerance of LGBT people is much higher than in most African countries.[
The climate for LGBT people in Namibia has eased in recent years. The country’s leading LGBT advocacy group is OutRight Namibia, formed in March 2010 and officially registered in November 2010. It has organised Namibia’s first pride parades and seeks to be “a voice for lesbian women, gay men, bisexuals and transgender and intersex people in Namibia”.
Windhoek is the capital of Namibia, in the country’s central highlands. South of the city, the sprawling Heroes’ Acre war memorial commemorates Namibia’s 1990 independence. On a hilltop in the city center are the 1890s Alte Feste, a former military headquarters with historical exhibits, and Independence Memorial Museum. Colonial influences are visible in nearby buildings like the sandstone Lutheran Christus Church.

The hotel is well presented, modern and clean. My room was comfortable and had the ability to open a window (which I always prefer to AC).
This is a modern hotel and our room was spacious and clean with all the expected facilities such as safe and tea making. The bed was large and comfortable and whilst in the city centre it was quiet. See separate report on dinner at the Epika restaurant. Breakfast in the same location was very good with great porridge, chopped fruit and an egg station.
The hotel is in walking distance of a number of the things to see such as the Parliament, Christ Church and the Museum. A good place to stay for a couple of nights pre or post touring Namibia.
Nice, comfortable large modern hotel with atrium. Only stayed one night and the breakfast was excellent. The rooms are spacious and well equipped and served by good lifts. The Sky Bar is a nice touch with good views of the city and tasty food.
A truly stunning experience. The hotel is upmarket and located in the city centre. The rooms are very modern with excellent facilities.
The WiFi is great and fast. Breakfast is excellent with an amazing variety of foods to choose from.
The laundry service was very good and my clothing was laundered and delivered on the same day.
The hotel has a stunning sky lounge on the 9th floor with a pool and gym.
I would certainly recommend choosing the Hilton in Windhoek for both business and leisure.
The rooms are very comfortable with all modern amenities. The best thing here is the staff.Friendly and extremely professional. For a big hotel chain they are very attentive and admirable in the way they carry out their job.The hotel is 6 mins walk from the Namibia Craft centre where many items can be purchased at reasonable prices after little bargaining. The Ekipa restaurant in the hotel does an ala carte menu at a reasonable price.
There is also a buffet for NAD265.This is lot cheaper than other hotels in Etosha and elsewhere. The staff are lovely and Anna particularly was excellent in serving in Ekipa restaurant.I was impressed with the size of the rooms which are big. They are extremely clean and very comfortable. So relaxing being here.

The room and amenities were very comfortable although it was showing its age. Great central location.
Safe central location within a few blocks of everything in downtown Windhoek. Would be good for both tourists and business guests. Above indoor mall so convenient shopping, banking. Room was very comfortable. Service was adequate, a little slow but friendly. Small rooftop pool with disappointing views. Would recommend to start or end a trip to Namibia, but also look at brand new Hilton just a block away.
Great hotel in the centre of Windhoek, close to shopping malls, market and cafes. Excellent breakfast and the rooftop bar has a fabulous view. The cafe/restaurant downstairs also has good food. Rooms are spacious and the gym is well equipped (2 treadmills, weights, bike and stepper).
Central in Windhoek close to shopping mall, nice ambience with live food counters you can have your favorite dish anytime.
The rooms and bathrooms quite spacious, staff very responsive to guest requests.
This hotel has just completed extensive renovations. Situated above a small shopping mall in the centre of the Windhoek shopping precinct. Rooms are large, clean and comfortable. Service and food in restaurants is good.

Breakfast and dinner are buffet style at the main restaurant or choose something to eat at the Pantry, the smallish space to eat in the reception area.
Rooms are spacious and comfortable with coffee making facilities and a small fridge. Free wifi is included and dependable.
I stayed on the 7th floor with a lovely view of the city. Walking distance from the Avani is the namibian craft centre and a couple of coffee shops
All in all a comfortable hotel in Windhoek.
The Avani hotel is very well located, the rooms are spacious and the beds very comfortables. The breakfast is average, they could have more choices. The staff was attentive and nice. It is a good choice to visit the capital.
Avani offers a comfortable stay in the center of Windhoek – walking distance to restaurants and the nearby craft market.
The rooms are clean and spacious with all the normal hotel amenities expected.
Breakfast is buffet and offers a good selection of food – from cold to hot breakfast, coffee, juice and more.
If you want dinner, have a look at the room service options; it’s not too pricey and offers an alternative to the buffet dinner they serve in the restaurant.
All in all a good option for central accommodation.

Our double volume, Oasis Lofts offer contemporary home-away-from-home comfort and are ideal for families or friends traveling together. These spacious suites feature a private en-suite bedroom, floor to ceiling windows, a separate lounge as well as a desk space.
Beautiful hotel, well maintained, a couple of nice restaurants are located within hotel premises. Underground parking available. Rooms are clean and have luxurious furniture. Bar is nice, in particular for having a sundowner drink.
The most spectacular views of the sunset from the panoramic Sky Lounge which offers breezy cocktails and a tapas menu. If you decide to head out and explore, you’ll have access to plenty of staycation essentials including easy access to the renowned Solstice Day Spa (the best spa in the country, in my opinion) and popular restaurants right at Am Weinberg’s doorstep. But food and spa aside, the hotel deserves its own fanbase. Sensual, intimate, luxury chic and dripping with opulence – this stylish hotel boasts a one-of-a-kind experience.
The ceiling shower system with the rain shower head and the feeling of water falling above was the most glorious part of my stay. GLORIOUS! When it comes to leisure staycation essentials, it doesn’t get more perfect than Am Weinberg Boutique Hotel.
We stayed twice at this hotel and were very impressed with the gorgeous surroundings and the lovely, helpful staff. The food was very nice and there are lots of options available.
If you are heading to Windhoek this is a beautiful place to stay.
Breakfast was good with more than enough options. There is a cold buffet and warm options are made to order. My omelet was very large and my friend liked her croque madame.
There is a very good internet connection.
The rooms are clean and well equipped. Only downside is that the ones on the ground floor basically have no privacy when you step outside. You step straight into a common area with people passing by (keep the curtains closed at night!).
If ever in Windhoek again, I will know where to go.
This hotel is a must even if you have just one night in Windhoek. No detail has been overlooked. The tapas menu at the Skybar was fabulous. We spent the last night of our holiday here and I must say it was a great finishing touch to a brilliant holiday.
Every detail of this hotel is stylish and lends itself to your comfort. The breakfast is fantastic and the courtyard area is lovely and peaceful. Not only are there many restaurants from which to choose on the property there is also the polished and professional Soulstice Spa. Manager Robin Donenberg certainly leads a friendly and accommodating staff and see to every detail of your stay.
This is an incredible facility, which has a local architecture on a former winery. It is Spectacular. The rooms are full of character, while being perfectly clean. Amenities are second to none. The staff are amazing, and got to know names and habits immediately. Breakfast was gourmet. The courtyard is very peaceful.
