Yangshuo Sudder Street Guesthouse 2* – Gay Friendly Hotels Yangshuo
A local market is 300 m from the property where guests can purchase fresh farm products. Darongshu Scenic Area is a 23-minute drive away, while Shutong Mountain can be reached in 16 minutes by car.
Guests get to choose between staying in lively shared rooms, or in a quiet private room. Most private rooms come with a balcony, while dormitory rooms provide access to shared bathroom and shower facilities.
Yangshuo sudder street guesthouse is run by a Chinese husband-Japanese wife couple Dongdong and Axiang. They met each other in Sudder street, a famous place for international backpackers in Kolkata of India. How many strangers are passing by when we are traveling? We believe none of the meeting is coincidental, seizing the chance to know a stranger might totally change your life.
“Treasure every encounter, for it will never recur.” We hope our guesthouse can be like Sudder street: Travelers encounter each other, share stories, have unforgettable memories on the way.
Sudder street is THE place to stay in yangshuo if you are looking for clean, value for money accommodation with helpful staff and great facilities. My only small suggestion is that the scooters for hire could be doing with an upgrade but at only 50元 per day its still good value.
A lovely stay away from the crowds of the city, yet just on the outskirts and very convenient (1.1km) from all the restaurants and shops for the ones who like that.
The common areas of the hostel were clean and suited for socializing and meeting fellow travelers. The wifi was decent and the free laundry was definitely beneficial for us long term travelers. The hostel also has a small cafe that served a tasty breakfast for a reasonable price. I particularly enjoyed the homemade granola, fresh fruit and yogurt.
We stayed in the double room with a balcony overlooking the pool. Lovely room with enough space for both of us, and the on-suite bathroom had everything we needed – including an incredible shower. And can we talk about how comfortable this bed was? It was so lovely and plush. A lot of beds in China are incredibly hard and this bed was just delightful. Staff were really helpful with travel to train stations and letting us know how much everything would cost.
Cute little coffee shop that does great western breakfasts and the most amazing cake. Really, try the cake. Location is a 20min walk into town, or a quick 10 min bike ride. They have large number of bikes available for guests which is very handy. Swimming pool was a lovely extra that helped beat the heat after all the adventuring we did. Plus free laundry on the roof with covered area to hang everything to dry. Life saver! We would absolutely stay here again – in fact we plan to next time we visit China.

Located in beautiful Moon Hill Village, just steps to caves and scenic areas, the Yangshuo Village Inn is in its 6th year as Yangshuo’s first and premier boutique hotel. The Village Inn features a rooftop Italian restaurant, Luna a full bar and beautiful views of Moon Hill.
This is a perfect hotel for those who want to stay away from the hustle and bustle of Yangshou. With a great view of moon hill and surrounding countryside its a perfect place to relax. The hotel is a small boutique hotel with really interesting decor giving it a very traditional style. We ate at the hotel several times and they serve a mix of Chinese and western dishes and they were all tasty. But the absolute best thing about this hotel is the staff.
From the moment we arrived until we left all the staff were fantastic and so helpful. Including taking the time to show us a short cut to visit some caves and being honest about any trips we were thinking of taking. Great hotel made superb by the friendliness of the staff. And the little leaving gift will always be remembered.
The hotel, the staff, and the surrounding area were simply amazing. The hotel is decorated in a warm traditional Chinese style with western comfort. The beds were very comfortable and the hotel’s eco sustainability initiative was a nice touch- having unlimited filtered water kept in glass bottles in the room, refillable at any time, was really nice after having to forage for bottles of water when staying at other places. The balconies were a great area to sit around on and read or just relax while taking in the beautiful view of Moon Hill; rooms 302 and 303 arguably had the best unobstructed views.
Up on the top floor is their restaurant, Luna, which has a big terrace to sit outside and take in the views of Moon Hill and the surrounding village. The food had both Chinese and western options, with the western options being mostly Italian.
Breakfast was served downstairs; when it rains there’s a little breakfast room and when it’s nice out, there’s a beautiful grove of fragrant trees to sit under and enjoy your meal. Breakfast was great, lots of options, and their cappuccinos were excellent. The staff always went above and beyond; they made us feel like family. They were extremely helpful and accommodating, often suggesting activities and excursions.
Staying at Yangshuo Village Inn felt like going to stay with great friends in their beautiful, cosy house which just happens to have an amazing italian restaurant on the top with great views!
We fell in love with this place from the moment we were welcomed with steaming mugs of ginger tea and homemade cookies!
Our pretty Moon Hill view room was comfortable and had everything we needed. The delicious breakfast the following morning was huge and cooked fresh to order.
Their restaurant, ‘Luna’ on the top floor was a wonderful treat offering both italian and chinese options.

he hotel is a lovely, traditional Chinese hotel and some rooms had wooden baths, granite washbasins, balconies and facilities for tea making. The hotel picked us up from the Yangshuo river cruise and helped us organise trips to the paddy fields, an evening excursion and our airport drop off at Guilin. The staff were friendly and spoke good English. The food was excellent and the scenery stunning with the Karst peaks overlooking the swimming pool.
The rooms were beauty decorated and felt cozy. The location is beautiful and overlooks the mountains. Its much more relaxed and calmer than the city center. They have bike and scooter rentals. They also arranged a car and tickets for sanje le impresión show, car for getting to the Guilin airport.
he hotel is situated 5 km from Yangshuo town (1 hr from Guilin airport), so you’re away from that hustle and bustle, but not far enough that you can’t pop in for a stop at West Street.
The rooms are spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated. We treated ourselves to a deluxe room which has a lovely wooden bath. The whole ambience in the hotel is warm and inviting. The meals are freshly cooked with local organic ingredients and are very reasonably priced.
Our room was a suite with verandah, bedroom, sitting area and tiny shower room. A beautiful wooden bath, with room for two people, was placed in the seating area with a daybed opposite – maybe some people like to bathe and talk to their friends at the same time! The shower/toilet area was very cramped.
The room was beautifully decorated, a small fridge sat inside a Chinese cupboard.
We ate most of our meals at the Tea Cozy because the food was so good, I think we went through the whole menu and everything was delicious.
There are two buildings (old and new), we have a great room on the top floor of the new building which was clean, spacious, had a large terrace and amazing views over the fields and karst scenery. The pool is modern and clean, the restaurant serves a wide variety of reasonably priced and tasty food and the staff very helpful.

The beds are comfortable and the staff is friendly and helpful. The concierge, Jackie is a treasure and we ended up spending an extra day touring the area with him after the first day. He knows every oath and beautiful view to be found and is a must meet person when you visit!
The rooms are very quaint but quite functional and spacious. The staff tries very hard but think of this more like B&Bish than a high end Western hotel. Nice little breakfast buffet, nice small pool, nice decks.
he place is very beautiful surrounded by mountains and a river, and the hotel offer activities to explore the area by walking or by bicycle. Rooms are very comfortable, charming and clean.
