Guatemala, a Central American country south of Mexico, is home to volcanoes, rainforests and ancient Mayan sites. The capital, Guatemala City, features the stately National Palace of Culture and the National Museum of Archaeology and Ethnology. Antigua, west of the capital, contains preserved Spanish colonial buildings. Lake Atitlán, formed in a massive volcanic crater, is surrounded by coffee fields and villages.

At Hotel La Casa del Mundo you will find a garden, a terrace and a bar. Other facilities offered at the property include a tour desk and laundry facilities.

Quaint cliff-top hotel featuring a restaurant, a garden & a hot tub, plus lake views.

Why You Should Book Hotel La Casa del Mundo
The food. Unbelievable food. Amazing soups (coconut curry) and lovely lasagna with tons of fresh veggies. We were there for 4 days and never got tired of the menu. Family style dinners were super and fun with lots of courses.
One night we had free tropical sangria! A nice touch. Clean clean clean.
Room – cozy and comfy and very private. Tiny bathroom but this is not the Hilton.
Things we loved about the room included the glorious balcony with its stunning views, the excellent shower, and the deft touch of whoever the decorator was.
We wished the lighting had been a bit warmer and the bed a bit wider, but really, who, waking up to that lake and the surrounding volcanoes, could complain about anything?

Our two dinners and breakfasts in the hotel restaurant were delicious, and it was pure pleasure to stroll the steep but easily negotiable paths winding through the property: a wonderland of plants and art and still more amazing vistas.

On our single full day we took the hotel’s tour of the three nearby villages on the lakeshore.

It proved both highly educational and fun.

After that I enjoyed one of the best massages I’ve ever had.
Why You Should NOT Book Hotel La Casa del Mundo
I honestly can’t understand all the great reviews on here for this place.
Yes, the location is beautiful but the property itself has 2 star rooms and facilities, the food is bland and over-priced and the staff – arrogant and unhelpful.
To make matters worse there were also an abundance of bugs in our room (including scorpions) which don’t really lend them self to a relaxing stay….
I would not recommend.

Guests at Jenna’s River Bed and Breakfast can enjoy a continental breakfast.

The setting is unmatched. The property is lush and gorgeous. The views are like a dream.

The chill areas and restaurant are mesmerizing.

Why You Should Book Jenna’s River Bed and Breakfast

A full Guatemalan breakfast is included each day.

Every room is situated with a gorgeous view of the lake.

Every room also has a bathtub with a view! Walking through the property feels like being in a botanical garden.

Jenna is an absolute delight. She makes the inn a very special place to stay and enjoy Lake Atitlan.

There’s nowhere like it at the lake.

I’m also in love with the house dog, Maggie.

Firstly, our hostess Jenna is incredible. Warm and funny, really hospitable and interesting she was a pleasure and made us feel really welcome in the way a family member would make you feel if they hadn’t seen you for ages.

She prepares wonderful homemade family style breakfasts every morning and calls you for breakfast to sit at the table with the other guests.

We were only there for 2 days but had scrambled eggs, peppers and mushrooms with homemade bread, homemade chutneys and banana pancakes and it was all so delicious!!

The rooms are just lovely, possibly one of the most comfortable nights sleeps i’ve had in Central America, we were nestled beneath beautiful patchwork Guatemalan throws, and crisp clean bedsheets.

There was a fresh packet of soap in the bathroom and a jug of water and 2 glasses on the bedside table.

It’s important to remember this is a B&B and so extra touches like this go such a long way.

Why You Should NOT Book Jenna’s River Bed and Breakfast

he hotel has a very good view but the staff is terrible especially the manager that forgot to be welcoming. They even changed our diner without even noticing us (even though it is a unique meal that is expensive). Plus the bathroom are far from the rooms.

I would recommend to go to another hotel in the location that seem very great

The units in the hotel are equipped with a flat-screen TV and a hairdryer.

Guests at AC Hotels by Marriott Guatemala City can enjoy a à la carte breakfast.

Why You Should Book AC Hotels by Marriott Guatemala City

Situated in perhaps the most elegant area of the capital, this hotel offers COVID contactless services , very clean , modern and at your footsteps endless choices of cafe, banks, restaurants, bars, pet parks , gym, bowling centers you name it.

Guatemala is a Maya paradise, Known! However after visiting the countrysides a wonderful layover is this hotel.

Located in a recently man-made citadela “Paseo Cayala“. The food options, some fashion and lazy strolls make this a must stop in this busy capital city.

The hotel is brand new, the social areas located on the top floor, enchant with wonderful views of the area, the bar and restaurant spaces produces a rooftop/lounge option to enjoy the volcanic and urban skyline of Guatemala city.

Rooms are a bit small but quaint.

The service is good and the kitchen staff was amazing, our group has several dietary needs and they were super considerarte, the chefs came out of their way, many of times to customize dishes, SUPERB WORK!

The entire Cayala complex and the hotel is pet friendly and makes for a improvised dog show.

Why You Should Not Book AC Hotels by Marriott Guatemala City

Don’t get fouled by the luxe…I don’t care how great a place looks or smell if they don’t treat you equally. My experience at AC Marriott in Guatemala City was a unpleasantly nightmare for at least two reasons:

First, I was place in a room with a view of the fire scape letters even though I showed up on the earlier side check in time,  talked to the staff but they never did anything to make it better.

Second, they have a gate system to the parking exclusive to hotel guests that didn’t work and every time I went out and back in I had to wait for someone to come and open it while supposed to be as simple as just to waive the card on the scanner.

One time I had to wait about 15 min to get in because not even the cayala’s parking staff would be responsible to open it for me it wasn’t until I called front desk.
