Why You Should Book Aqua Nicaragua Oceanfront Resort

We went down to the beach at Aqua which was beautiful and quiet.

A great place to relax and watch the waves roll in.

We had a wonderful lunch at the restaurant at a private table overlooking the ocean in a nice shaded area where we were able to have our dog with us without bothering other restaurant guests.

The service has improved greatly since our last visit.

We were greeted by the lovely host Magenta, who made some excellent mean suggestions.

I highly recommend the clams with the fresh baked bread and the chimichurri. Delicious!

We stayed in Urraca Penthouse (the larger style of house there, with 2 levels and a full kitchen), and we felt it was the best spot at Aqua!

RIGHT on the beach, and with its own plunge pool. The plunge pools have cool-ish water, not warm.

So it’s not for evening soaking like you might imagine, they’re more for a mid-day cool off when you don’t feel like going into the ocean.

A couple of nights we cooked in our house’s kitchen.

Very nicely appointed kitchen with quality appliances, pans, and tools (if you want to cook at home, ask Aqua to swing you by the grocery store on the way from the airport.

That’s what we did, and we got good fruits and veg, a chicken, some beer and other odds and ends to stock our little casa).

The bed was supremely comfortable as others have noted. The rain shower head, and the whole design of the shower in general, was the nicest we’ve experienced.

The way the resort is woven into the tree-covered hillside with a minimum of disruption to the natural setting is amazing.

Very skillfully done. Nature is allowed to bloom at Aqua. Yet no pests to speak of…an ant here and there but far less bug/pest life than in any other tropical area I’ve ever visited.

We love how the restaurant bar just hangs right over the waves at the edge of the bay.

Low exterior lighting around the resort was very nice and maintained the natural feeling. Everything was nestled into nature so well, we felt like fantasy castaways.

Why You Should NOT Book Aqua Nicaragua Oceanfront Resort

The stairs are ridiculous. I work out daily but found the stairs to be brutal. At night, it’s impossible to see and the lighting they have is minimal, bring a flashlight.

The food at the restaurant was very disappointing, especially since we had had many wonderful meals while traveling through Nicaragua.

Nica may be a poor country but the locals know how to cook. Plus the grocery stores are stocked with good/healthy ingredients and good wine.

But you won’t find that at Aqua. To me, what makes luxury is amazing food that lifts your spirit and creates wellness because it makes you feel good!

Not to mention that is what traveling is all about, to experience the amazing food of other cultures. I also felt the menu was lacking wellness in general.

Yes, they have smoothies that are healthy and refreshing but that’s where it ends.

Worth the trip! If you are going on your own is better to take a truck , the road is good but is all dirt and you might have to cross small ponds.
Service is very good, all the staff was very helpful.
The bungalows are beautiful, surrounded by nature (make sure you bring repellent.)
The plus for me was that they accepted dogs!!!!!!
Loved it , super relaxing , beautiful place
Away from the city a wide beautiful beach. Gorgeous bungalows, pet friendly. From the beginning we felt charmed and cozy.
The staff takes good distance measures and use protection equipment. The food is excellent.
We tried seafood and were astonished with the really good quality of the cousine.
We are really satisfied of how great was the place for our anniversary celebration. We are anxious to go again.
Why You Should NOT Book Hotel Punta Teonoste
For what you paid you will have some expectations, I am not sure it worth it.
Customer Service = ceroThe waitress and waiter did not know anything about the menu or the location and you have to wait too long for a cup of coffee.Cabanas were not clean and if you have reservation for 2…wait a minute... customer might need at least 2 towels! but we only had 1.As said before…for what you paid…you will expect more.

Breakfast was amazing!!! All the staff were kind, really good customer service.

Why You Should Book Hotel SelvAzul

Beside my partner I took my dog with me, the hotel is pet friendly, this is a plus! 🙂

The room was pretty good, the view really nice. Everything was great. The artesanal pizza was delicious!

The lake was only a few metres away but jumping in the pool was an amazing way to cool off.

The room had excellent AC as well.

The room was also very spacious with a ceiling fan to help move the air.

As mentioned the lake was only meters away and once out of the pool we were paddle boarding and kayaking in the lake.

There was always a supply of cold beer on hand.

Could also order rum and coke! We stUed 2 nights and ended up eating dinners there.

Very tasty meals. Breakfast was included and they had the tastiest cinnamon pancakes!

There is also a tiny market a few mi sites away for extra goodies. We bought a very tasty pineapple there.

We met the owner and all of our needs were looked after by a great guy named Orlando.

He spoke excellent English and organized a taxi to Granada for us. Highly recommend.

Why You Should NOT Book Hotel SelvAzul

This place has so much potential. Great View , Nice Rooms .

Nice access to the Laguna. But what diminishes the overall experience is the lack of staff and customer service. Service was horrible.

There is no attention to the customer whatsoever.

Basically once your in you’ll be on your own , your own music, your own vibe.

Also not too much to offer when it comes to a limited menu.

I think the best part was that you have your privacy.
