Halal Hotels Baku?
Nearly 99% of the population of Azerbaijan is nominally Muslim. The rest of the population adheres to other faiths or are non-religious.
Like other tourists, Muslim travelers coming from Islamic countries have particular requirements when they choose the destination for their vacation. Among these requirements, Muslims are concerned about the availability of halal compliant foods (no pork or alcohol in food) and a clean place to pray.
Many international hotels in Baku do serve halal food that is slaughtered in accordance with the teachings of Islamic Sharia and is free of any substances forbidden by Islam such as pork and alcohol.
Other Islamic countries such as Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Morocco, Oman and Brunei continue to be popular with Muslim tourists. Among non-OIC countries, Singapore, Thailand, the UK, Japan and Taiwan remain the top five respectively, but show improved scores on the index.

As you entered the room, to the left there was a spacious closet, with 8 hangers, an electronic safe, an iron / ironing board, and there was also a little seating area with a mirror.
The bed was large and very comfortable (the extra pillows I had asked for was there too!), there was a mini bar, numerous glasses, bottle opener, TV (with just under 100 channel, including many English Channels, and 2 sports channels showing all the EPL games), Kettle, and Nespresso maker.
There was a work desk and seating area, the bathroom was very large with a shower and the most amazing bath overlooking the city.
We ate in the restaurant once and the food was delicious, I also used the gym a couple of times which is very clean with all modern equipment, water and sweat-towels, there was always someone there to show you how to use the equipment (if you wanted to ask), there was also changing rooms which also had a sauna (there’s also an indoor swimming pool too), lockers and showers.
I loved the hotel and I would happily stay here again.

The most important thing was kindly and polite personnel and young hotel owner that were very helpful and tried to make our trip memorable as possible.
Amazing stay, the most accommodating staff who will do anything to make you comfortable, cute rooms, great breakfast, and perfect location.
The staff are truly beyond amazing, each and every one. Since I was fasting for Ramadan and couldn’t have breakfast, they made me daily Suhoor at 2:00 AM. They went above and beyond and we would stay again in a heartbeat.

Service is good in all levels. The room is specious . The hotel has limited rooms in which you will not see crowd in the elevators or in lobby.
The team who are working are great and very humble.
Also, as Muslim country , I would think in putting solutions to bathrooms to ensure suit Muslims (hose for Tahoor).
Also, fund better comfortable pillows than what is exist now .
In addition I would feel so happy If I came to know that all foods are Halal.
Our room had a beautiful view of the old city wall and ancient buildings on one side. Moving the eye along the horizon the sight rested on the modern flame towers which were lit exquisitely at night and the new city.
An excellent location with the waters of the Caspian in front of the hotel and a short walk to the old and new city.

The Spa of Pik Palace will provide a full range of beauty and body treatments including aromatherapy, massages and spa rituals.
F&B needs to be careful while serving bacon or non-halal items in the buffet or in-house dining.
Shahdag is located 3 hours drive from Baku. You need a proper car / van to drive you there (easy to find online). The road is almost boring with little scenery, so don’t get too excited in the car yet.
Shahdag has three hotels now run by the same group. We stayed in the Pik Palace which is the highest standing of the three.
Park Chalet (across the Pik Palace) is a very good option too, especially if you like the cosy / wood French Alps feel).
The rooms are clean and luxurious. Plenty of natural light. The hotel is fairly new (5 years?) and well-maintain. Service throughout the hotel is prompt and people are keen to make you feel welcome but you will have to smile first to get them to smile (refer to my “it used to be communist” comment).
Overall people are in any case friendly and welcoming throughout Azerbaijan. There is an English communication problem which means if you expect everyone, including at 5 star hotels to understand you from the get go, it wont work. But this should not spoil your stay. Remember to be patient and to smile.
What I loved about the hotel:
1) The Ski is fantastic: just outside the hotel. We were lucky to have beautiful fresh snow (there are snow cannon too just in case) and very few skiers on the slopes. The slopes are good for beginners to confirmed snowboard/ skiers.
Most interesting, the Ski shop where you can rent your skis is based in the basement of the hotel and you can get down with your sleepers (staying inside the hotel), rent your ski gear (and ski clothes if you need), get a locker (to store your gear at night) and get skiing just outside the shop.
It can’t be any easier than that. You can even buy full day ski passes at the shop. Gear was good / clean and rental cost very reasonable. Again, the ability to just go down from my bedroom in sleepers (with ski pants on!), to pick up my skis / put my ski boots on and to go ski was a real luxury. Loved it.
2) There is an indoor / outdoor pool.
The indoor pool is a pleasure to dive into after a day out in the cold. Pool is clean, there is shower / changing rooms / bar / lifeguard on site (who did not hesitate to send some Arabic kids back to their room that were noisy).
The main attraction is really the outdoor pool… How many of us get to ever swim in a pool surrounded by snow ? Water is hot (35c?) yet outside it is minus 5.
Beautiful view of the mountains while you float. It take some courage to walk outside in your swimwear (8 meters at best) as the cold air will remind you that you are in the mountains, not in Hawaii. This pool was one the highlight of our stay. Best Instagram pictures!
The food at the hotel is very good. There are 2 restaurants (local + Italian) and we also ate room service (good and affordable). There are a few more dinner options at the 2 other hotels 2 minutes walk outside the hotel. We focused our dinner picks on Azerbaijani food as we liked it very much.
The breakfast was a delight. Lots of food (salted / Sweet) to please all plates.

Hotel is amazing, rooms are spacious food is great, staff are the best but it needs some tweaks to be better.
Reception check in was fast with smile on the face and good info. about the area even though it was so busy.
Restaurant breakfast buffet was good not the best but it is above average and some people I’m just comparing to other hotels I visited.
Spa is great with good comfortable services.
The restuarant and Shisha Lounge on the 4th floor is amazing from the view to the food and shisha. really enjoyed it.
Rooms are huge with a balcony with great views and it’s great for families.
View is one of the best I have seen in my life.
All on all good hotel which I recommend except for the things I mentioned.
The hotel offers an amazing view and surroundings. The rooms are very spacious offering all the luxuries and amenities. Every room has a balcony so recommend a room with valley view. They have an amazing spa and Hammam facilities, not to be missed. There is an indoor pool too. The food options not too vast still good and satisfactory. Service is good…not great, some scope to improvise!.
Overall we had a satisfactory experience. The hotels amazing location was definitely the highlight.
The hotel is first class, new and friendly staff. The rooms are large, beds comfy, huge showers, bathtub and balcony with great views. It has a lovely pool with water jets, perfect for après ski! There is a sauna and
Turkish bath in the ladies and men’s areas, however the sauna in the ladies area was not warm perhaps as the hotel was quiet it had been turned off.
