Halal Hotels Batam

Islam is the largest religion in Indonesia, with 86.7% of the Indonesian population identifying themselves as Muslim in a 2018 survey. Indonesia has the largest Muslim population in the world, with approximately 225 million Muslims.

By Crescent Rating, Indonesia is 4th rated among most Muslim-friendly countries.

How many mosques are there in Indonesia

There are more than 800,000 mosques in Indonesia but officials hope to create more eco-mosques after the initial 1,000 are established and also include other places of worship.

Like other tourists, Muslim travelers coming from Islamic countries have particular requirements when they choose the destination for their vacation. Among these requirements, Muslims are concerned about the availability of halal compliant foods (no pork or alcohol in food) and a clean place to pray.

Many international hotels in Indonesia  do serve halal food that is slaughtered in accordance with the teachings of Islamic Sharia and is free of any substances forbidden by Islam such as pork and alcohol.

Other Islamic countries such as Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Morocco, Oman and Brunei continue to be popular with Muslim tourists. Among non-OIC countries, Singapore, Thailand, the UK, Japan and Taiwan remain the top five respectively, but show improved scores on the index.

This place is definitely one of the best resorts that I have been to! From the ambience to the cleanliness of the resort to the room to the view to the food and the hospitality of the staff and everything was beyond amazing!

A bonus plus point is that the food was halal and the restaurant itself to dine in is 24 hours!

What more could I ask for being the fact that if you are a foodie.

Food has always been consistent & fresh & it’s halal.

During the check-in the hotelier staff mentioned to us about our room and he even gave us a breathtaking view without us even asking for it, he even went the extra mile to explain, the view of the pool and the sea was so unreal that it makes me miss this place right now!

We had a great view from our room! It was just steps away from the pool and the beach side. Will definitely be returning back again here.

Staff are always calm and composed even during peak periods, always polite and accommodating making you feel welcomed always.

Food at their main dining is Halal which is super duper important for us Muslim families! Their Japanese Teppanyaki restaurant serves mixed with wine or sake I think so we do not have our meals there.

I have to agree with those who comment that the food is expensive if you compare to normal Batam city centre prices, however, the food we’ve had so far has always been served fresh and it’s suited to cater to international taste as they have a lot of tourists from all over the world! Therefore, everything served is mild and well-balanced.

We always eat our hearts out at the buffet! To find a great resort with Halal food at an area where it could be difficult to find other food at our convenience, it’s well worth the price. 🙂

2. Tempat Senang Spa Resort & Restaurant 4* – Muslim Friendly Hotels Batam

Tempat Senang Spa Resort & Restaurant

Nestled among tropical greenery next to Indah Puri Golf Club, Tempat Senang Spa Resort offers Asian-inspired suites and pampering spa services. It features both fresh and saltwater pools.

Tempat Senang Spa Resort and Restaurant is within a 25-minute drive from shopping options at Nagoya. The resort offers free transport from Sekupang Ferry Terminal, a 10-minute drive away.

Spacious standard suites feature local craftwork and furniture. A DVD player, TV and a refrigerator are provided. Suites include bathrobes, eco-friendly toiletries and a hairdryer.

This posh resort surrounded by tropical gardens is 1 km from Indah Puri Golf Club and 17 km from Nagoya Hill Shopping mall.

Lavish, individually decorated rooms offer 4-poster beds, minifridges and free Wi-Fi, as well as air-conditioning and flat-screens with DVD players. Most have terraces, balconies or porches; some include whirlpool tubs and/or rainfall showers. A treehouse comes with a hanging bed.

There’s an open-air, international restaurant, and a spa with a hot tub. Amenities also include 3 outdoor pools and intimate lounges. Kids age 15 and over are welcome.

Tempat Senang is Batam’s hidden oasis. Discover the lush gardens, Balinese architecture and romantic setting that makes it the perfect couples getaway. Full service spa, leaf juice laboratory and open terrace restaurant on site. Quality at an affordable price.

The resort overlooks a golf course, very peaceful to watch.

The lunch and dinner were lovely. A mix of Indonesian and Malay dishes on a platter. Beautiful.

Now the room – we stayed in the Sultan Room. It was magnificent and is befitting a Sultan – the Malay translation of a King. The decor is beautiful and cosy, besides the nicely-decorated double bed, it has an “outdoor” bathroom, LCD TV, DVD player and the best feature – an in-room Jacuzzi!!! Simply brilliant!
We stayed in the Timor Suite, which opened right onto the small resort pool, and the room was exceedingly comfortable (the bed was super soft and there were six pillows on the bed with varying degrees of firmness!) with meticulous decor to fit the theme. The bathroom was similarly well-planned, with a giant jacuzzi tub and complimentary spa products. Instead of the typical hotel-size shampoo and conditioner bottles and a bar of soap, TS stocked our suite with everything from foot cream to a hair mask.

There were enough products to do a full facial in your room, if you wanted. They also provided a bottle of their special mosquito repellant, which was effective and necessary.

As with most resorts, the attached restaurant is the most convenient option for meals, and the prices are comparable to a casual-dining restaurant in Singapore.

Anything you order is charged to your room, so it is easy for food costs to add up – plan accordingly. But the food, while priced at ~SGD20 per item, is exquisite and much higher quality than you’ll find in other places. The majority of dishes are Indonesian or Southeast-Asian inspired, but they also have a number of Western food options.

The beef rendang and kaffir lime chicken are both exceptional, and the staff is quick to suggest alternatives if you order a set that includes a dish you’ve tasted at another meal. This also applies to dietary restrictions – the menu has extensive vegetarian and gluten free options which can be substituted if you opt for a set dinner.

The reason most people visit TS is the spa. In fact, most people opt for a day-trip and we can see ourselves doing that in the future if we want a quick getaway.

The spa treatments were quite nice and the packages (either 3 treatments or 6 treatments, a half or full day) are worthwhile. Even treatments that seem like “add-ons” become a full hour-long luxury.
Including our round-trip ferry and transport there and back, all meals for three days, copious gifts for friends back home, nine spa treatments each, and three nights’ stay in a comfortable, luxurious suite that rivals any hotel I’ve stayed at, we spent exactly SGD 2000 for our two-person long weekend getaway. It was well worth the expense.
We will definitely be back and will tell our friends to visit as well.

The hotel is just across the road from the ferry terminal. The service was excellent .
The breakfast spread was unimaginable and the hot food stations were great.
Very convenient for shopping though mainly for footwear , clothings and hypermarket.

Few spa outlets around. Went Nagoya hill shopping centre for more shopping and Spa within a 10 min cab ride.

Seafood lovers like me dine along the Bayfront stretch of seafood restaurants within 5 mins walk. Fresh and reasonably prices seafood in abundance.

The hotel is within walking diatance to Harbour Bay ferry terminal and less than 10minutes drive to DC mall and Nagoya mall. There is a massage cum hair salon just opposite the hotel and seafood restaurants nearby.

We stayed in the Grand Deluxe room which was very spacious. The room has a comfortable king bed, a lounge sofa, an armchair and a work desk with chair. The toilet had a bathtub with separate shower area.

The hotel has a small swimming pool, sauna and gym. The buffet spread was good. The local food served could be better but the western dishes were delicious. The hotel staff were also friendly.
