The exact number of Muslims in Belgium is unknown but various sources estimate that 4.0% to 7.6% of the country’s population adheres to Islam.

In Brussels specifically, the Muslim population is estimated at approximately 160 000 persons, representing 39% of all Muslims in the country and nearly 17% of the total population of Brussels.

By Crescent Rating, Belgium is 39th rated among most Muslim-friendly countries.

How many mosques are there in Belgium

There are an estimated 328–380 mosques in the country of Belgium.

Like other tourists, Muslim travelers coming from Islamic countries have particular requirements when they choose the destination for their vacation. Among these requirements, Muslims are concerned about the availability of halal compliant foods (no pork or alcohol in food) and a clean place to pray.

Many international hotels in Belgium do serve halal food that is slaughtered in accordance with the teachings of Islamic Sharia and is free of any substances forbidden by Islam such as pork and alcohol.

Other Islamic countries such as Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Morocco, Oman and Brunei continue to be popular with Muslim tourists. Among non-OIC countries, Singapore, Thailand, the UK, Japan and Taiwan remain the top five respectively, but show improved scores on the index.

A no frills basic hotel, but a great central location.

A bit compact, but clean and comfortable. Helpful, friendly staff.
The bathroom was small, but a good shower.

Very good night’s sleep.
Superb value for money.

Location couldn’t be better. I walked everyday. The hotel is 15 minutes from Midi Station on foot. City Center is 7 minutes on foot. North station is 30 minutes on foot, and when you walk to the north station, you walk through the shopping street. The hotel is located in a quiet and safe road.

There is mini bar and heating is working very well. There is hot water even at 5 a.m. breakfast is very good for 8 euros.
If I go to Brussels again, I would definitely stay there again!

The hotel was elegant but hip. The cleanliness was exceptional. The room modern, comfortable. The bedding very nice.

The location was wonderful – just minutes from the Grand Place. I thought the value for money was extraordinary and I am a frequent traveler using 4 and 5 star hotels.

Nice (newly) decorated hotel with very friendly staff, cosy rooms, in the heart of Brussels. Good beds, pillow-menu, free bottles of water in the room. You can explore Brussels by foot from the hotel.

Park your car directly underneath the hotel, attractive parking-fee in the weekend. We enjoyed breakfast, didn’t use diner. We had a wonderful stay at this great place.

3. YOOMA Urban Lodge 4* – Muslim Friendly Hotels Brussels

YOOMA Urban Lodge

Located 0.5 km from the Brussels Midi train station and 1.3 km from the Grand-Place, the YOOMA Urban Lodge is gradually moving away from its decoration based around art photography to offer private rooms for 2, 4 and 6 people in the universe of Franco-Belgian comics in partnership with Dargaud, Dupuis, Le Lombard and Les Schtroumpfs.

This property has room service, a wellness area including a hammam and sauna, a lounge with a 250 m² terrace, luggage storage, parking and free Wi-Fi in all its premises.

All rooms at this hotel are equipped with air conditioning, a large-screen HD TV and a private bathroom with a bathtub.

The vast majority of rooms are themed around a Franco-Belgian comic book hero, with a total of 30 different worlds represented. Some rooms are dedicated to photography.

A 3-minute walk from the nearest tram station, this ultra-chic, downtown hotel is a 15-minute walk from the 17th-century Manneken Pis fountain and 2 km from the Royal Palace of Brussels.

Featuring black and white decor, along with contemporary furniture, the hip, modern rooms offer free Wi-Fi, flat-screen TVs and minibars; some add terraces. Upgraded rooms have sitting areas/rooms with sofas; suites add iPod docks. Room service is available.

A breakfast buffet (fee) is available. There’s a stylish restaurant, as well as a trendy lounge bar and a spa offering a sauna, a steam bath and massage therapy.

The Hotel, with its Rooms and De Luxe Suites decorated in Black and White with natural black stone floors, metallic curtains, joyful photographs laid in aluminum, terraces with a panoramic view is a mixture of esthetics, luxury and timeless design. Being a tourist or a businessman, it offers you a personalized welcome by trying to reinvent the art of the high class hotel service.

A unique experience to live, to be part of and to come back to, as though it was your home.

The bedrooms can be a bit of a shock though: the bathroom door is just smoked glass, so absolutely no privacy; a semi-opaque door would have looked just as good and at least given some privacy. The rest of the room was perfect, including a Nespresso coffee machine.

Breakfast had plenty to offer, similar to most hotel buffet breakfasts, but also included fresh honeycomb (great on the waffles)! The scrambled egg was a bit below-par on the second day though.

This hotel is very well located near to the Brussels-Midi railway station, and so was ideal for our two-night weekend visit.

The local area is a bit seedy, with not much else around, so a trip into the city centre is a must when looking for anything of interest. The walk into the city is a pleasant one mile, and we felt perfectly safe walking back late in the evening, despite being gawked at by customers in the men-only Muslim cafes.
