How many mosques are there in India

India has more than 300,000 active mosques a number which is more than most Islamic nations.

Like other tourists, Muslim travelers coming from Islamic countries have particular requirements when they choose the destination for their vacation. Among these requirements, Muslims are concerned about the availability of halal compliant foods (no pork or alcohol in food) and a clean place to pray.

Many international hotels in India do serve halal food that is slaughtered in accordance with the teachings of Islamic Sharia and is free of any substances forbidden by Islam such as pork and alcohol.

Other Islamic countries such as Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Morocco, Oman and Brunei continue to be popular with Muslim tourists. Among non-OIC countries, Singapore, Thailand, the UK, Japan and Taiwan remain the top five respectively, but show improved scores on the index.

The 437 room property epitomizes the luxury hotel experience with exemplary service and warm hospitality soaked in Indian traditions. The hotel has established industry benchmarks in safety and security, wide choice of premium rooms and suites, world renowned restaurants, banqueting facilities, spa, wellness and more.

An excellent luxury hotel in one of the best locations in Delhi. Very safe and easily accessible.

This hotel really has a strong focus on providing best service possible. Safety measures were excellent to counter covid. Their commitment to excellent service was evident in every aspect and was followed by all staff.

The hotel has a number of very good dining options, including the famous Bukhara. We really enjoyed their extensive breakfast buffet every day. The top floor patio restaurant is a great location for dinner and also for breakfast.

Will certainly highly recommend staying there.

The ITC One rooms at Maurya are now quite long in the tooth, but in general they have been maintained well with some nice upgrades visible here and there. The size was decent for a Junior Suite with two smallish windows (by today’s standards) offering outside views and natural light. Furnishing included a sofa, centre table, end tables and a longish multi-use table that doubled up as a work desk.
There was a smallish round dining table and a couple more seating arrangements. The bed was of standard size while there were ample lighting fixtures of various vintages available. There was sort of a walk-in closet, which however lacked a door.
The shower enclosure had a double movable shower head, while the toiletries were standard ITC stuff. The front office had later on added an extra roll-away bed for which there was enough space in the room.
What impressed us the most, and this isn’t really surprising, are their F&B offerings. A lot has been already documented on how ITC had single-handedly changed the 5 star hotel restaurant scene in India from this very hotel which also has been their flagship property. We had breakfast twice at the original Pavilion. Since we arrived early, the breakfast was extended to us on the day of our arrival too.
The quality of food at Pavilion was quite exceptional, especially the cooked to order items and some of the unique buffet items that focused on the local Old Delhi food.
They passed my eggs Benedict test but aced with the smoked salmon, wilted spinach, egg white omelette. The rava dosa was nicely crispy on the outside and savoury in the inside.
ITC Maurya, located in a quiet leafy suburb of the Diplomatic Enclave, facing the Delhi ridge, exudes old-world charm, excels in its traditional hospitality.
The whole gamut of F&B options are perhaps the best in the country. No wonder it attracts the Heads of the States, but also guests like us looking for a no-fuss city-based staycation.
