Halal Hotels Dhaka
Bangladesh is a Muslim majority nation and Islam is the state religion of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh. As per 2011 census, Bangladesh have a population of 149,772,364 people, of which the Muslim population was approximately 135,394,217, constituting overwhelming 90.4% of the country’s population.
Like other tourists, Muslim travelers coming from Islamic countries have particular requirements when they choose the destination for their vacation. Among these requirements, Muslims are concerned about the availability of halal compliant foods (no pork or alcohol in food) and a clean place to pray.
Many international hotels in Dhaka do serve halal food that is slaughtered in accordance with the teachings of Islamic Sharia and is free of any substances forbidden by Islam such as pork and alcohol.
Other Islamic countries such as Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Morocco, Oman and Brunei continue to be popular with Muslim tourists. Among non-OIC countries, Singapore, Thailand, the UK, Japan and Taiwan remain the top five respectively, but show improved scores on the index.

Even before the shovel first hit the ground to build the hotel’s foundation, we had one goal in mind- to provide unrivaled luxury for all of our guests. We put in the finest amenities and facilities in our hotel, and we have also included some awe-inspiring sights. As the project progressed, it slowly dawned on us- not only have we offered the ultimate luxury in the Bangladeshi hospitality industry, we have also offered the finest facilities in all of the Indian Subcontinent.
We have included many Bangladeshi firsts – heated, salt water, and best of all, hanging, and partially transparent, infinity pool, a 119 feet tall mosaic mural, and a state-of-the-art heating and water filtration system for the whole building.
Security at hotel entrance is a bit funny as explained by The Week but it’s similar to other South Asian Countries like India or Pakistan that I have visited.
Bag and phones given to security, walk through metal detector which buzzes every time I walk through it but not told to remove anything :).
Room was clean, bathroom had walk in shower and large bath tub, most amenities was provided except for disposable shaver, they even had an electric scale that was working well.
Bed was comfortable, pillows a bit too soft for my liking but that’s just me, the desk top lamp had mobile phone charging plugs (plugs for all kinds of mobile brands) and a dc adaptor plug, the 1st time I have ever seen such a set up and it was fabulous.
The in room safe was large and could fit a 15″ Laptop easily, Large Sony LCD tv with internet, in room wifi router, internet speed was quite fast.
Morning breakfast was basic, around 12 dishes on offer, chicken sausages, beef bacon, french toast etc, they even had curries on offer but eating curry 3 times a day was a bit too much :), if you ask for coffee they bring you a metal jug which has 2 cups worth in it, juice section had the usual grapefruit, watermelon etc but NO ORANGE JUICE, there was fresh oranges next to it.
Its a Muslim country so trying to buy beer or any alcohol is very hard, I even went during the Bangladesh Independence day holiday day time up the road towards the Westin Hotel which is aprox 10 mins walk and found a supermarket thinking I was in luck, unfortunately no alcohol. I had to go to the Westin Hotel to have a beer and a burger.
Cost/service/comfort wise this hotel is very good, once everything else is up and running it will be great, only thing that I didn’t like but it can’t be helped is there is not much to do at night, the streets are very dark, lots of rickshaw guys will suddenly start following you offering you girls, take you to dodgy places, I quickly turned back and went back into the hotel.
Now if the hotel had some sort of hourly or when needed small tempo or electric 3 wheel bike to take you to the main road just like they do in some hotels in Thailand, this would be very useful and much more safe to the guest staying, they can always call to the hotel asking for pick up from the main road again (across from The westin hotel where there a quite a few shops).

On top of the food which was exquisite , their service was amazing and top notch.
There was good variation in food, namely , the grilled chicken and beef steak were excellent. One of the other best thing was how they maintain proper hygiene and the safety precautions they have taken.
Overall great service, very clean and spacious rooms, quiet area. The hotel building itself is very new, only about 2 years.
Also excellent food and service at Bahar restaurant, special thanks to waiter Rony, very professional and customer oriented attitude, and chef Shale for excellent food!
Definitely would recommend this hotel for stay in Dhaka.
