Halal Hotels Guangzhou
Muslims are a minority group in China, representing between 0.45% to 2.85% (6 million to 39 million) of the total population according to the local government. Other independent sources claim between 60-80 million Muslims in China
By Crescent Rating, China is 50th rated among most Muslim-friendly countries.
How many mosques are there in China?
In of 2014 there were 39,135 mosques in China, 25,000 of these are in Xinjiang, a north-west autonomous region, having a high density of one mosque per 500 muslims. In China, mosques are called Qīng Zhēn Sì (清真寺, “Pure truth temple”), a name which was also used by Chinese Jews for synagogues.
Like other tourists, Muslim travelers coming from Islamic countries have particular requirements when they choose the destination for their vacation. Among these requirements, Muslims are concerned about the availability of halal compliant foods (no pork or alcohol in food) and a clean place to pray.
Many international hotels in Guangzhou do serve halal food that is slaughtered in accordance with the teachings of Islamic Sharia and is free of any substances forbidden by Islam such as pork and alcohol.
Other Islamic countries such as Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Morocco, Oman and Brunei continue to be popular with Muslim tourists. Among non-OIC countries, Singapore, Thailand, the UK, Japan and Taiwan remain the top five respectively, but show improved scores on the index.

. The hotel is quite strategically located in the city centre close to plenty amenities like supermarkets, restaurants & coffee shops. AEON mall is a short 5 minutes walk from the hotel, where there’s also Starbucks cafe nearby. The area is somewhat famous for middle eastern cuisines so it’s really handy for us who came from a muslim country to find halal food.
The lobby was somewhat ordinary & it adjoins with an office building, but the room was really spacious, even for Chinese hotel standards. The decoration is what you can described as 90’s era but it serves its function. The view from the room is a plus point because you can see the majority part of the city unobstructed due to the high floors we stayed in.
The hotel also has a rotating restaurant at the top but it was closed for renovation when we stayed there so we didn’t really experienced it.
This hotel has an excellent location close to many Halal restaurants also close to the metro station.
Has a large and clean rooms also excellent value of money. Hotel staff doing their best to help and understand you. Its my favorite hotel in Guangzhou.
Great hotel to stay at its close to alot of halal restaurants and close to the city centre so theres plently to see and do. Staff were great they were extremely helpful and the rooms were very clean. I would highly recommend this hotel to any fellow muslims looking for a place that’s close to halal restaurants.
Strategically located with many Halal restaurants and shops around. The hotel is quite value for money at less than $100/night. I enjoyed my stay. The hotel was neat and tidy. My was very OK and the toilets superb with very hot water. But the TV channels wasn’t much to write about. Though with very few English channels.

Parking is free. Other amenities include 3 restaurants, a snazzy cocktail lounge and a gym, plus a tennis court, an outdoor pool and meeting space. There’s also an indoor pool, and a spa with a sauna and a steam room. Breakfast is available.
My room is always cleaned every morning, with new toileteries set to use. Room has everything including hair dryer, iron + ironing board, bathrobe, and also pot + kettle at the pantry.
My favorite in this hotel is the breakfast buffet. It comes with variety of food, drinks, homemade yogurt and desserts. They also has halal food for Muslim guests. The wifi provided has a good connection as well.
Pros:
– Location near Halal Restaurants
– The room and bath are huge around 40m.
– The staff are friendly.
– Concierge is great, they booked us tickets to Macau with full service.
– Taxi available outside.
– Huge gym with lots of equipments.
– Slippers available in the rooms.
The Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport is far from the city, a typical taxi fare from the hotel to the airport should cost around ¥140 to ¥160. The taxi drivers in the city can rip off tourists, so it’s advisable to use the DiDi – Greater China mobile App if you plan to use taxis in mainland China.
The easiest and cheapest way to get around the city is by Guangzhou Metro (which also connects the Airport). The nearest Metro Station Taojin (Exit B) is on Line 5, which is a 5 minutes walk from the hotel.
Breakfast which is on the 5th Floor starts at 6 AM. The breakfast buffet is excellent with a good mix of Continental and Chinese food.
There is even a counter for Halal food (not sure if this is only there during the Canton Fair). There are so many good non-Chinese restaurants nearby, The Tandoor (Indian,200m), Bosphorus Turkish Restaurant (500m), Banana Leaf (Thai,600m), Sultan Restaurant (Turkish,600m), Bombay Grill (Indian, 900m) just to name a few. There are also so many cafes and fast food joints nearby, there is even a McDonalds in the same hotel building if you want to catch a quick bite.
There is a mall (in Poly Central Plaza) right across the Hotel, which is connected to the overhead pedestrian crossing. You will find a couple of Starbucks, a Pizza Marzano, Subway & some Chinese restaurants here. The Southern Tower had a Fuguang Bookstore (located in the Basement) where 99% of the books are in Chinese, but you will definitely come across some interesting stuff here.

The Southern Tower of the mall also has a Movie Theatre (Polymax Cinemas), but I am not sure if the Hollywood movies are in English or dubbed in Chinese.
Rooms are bigger and spacious all needed accessories are there coffee and tea maker with excellent service experience. High rise outside view was amazing and you can see hilly view from your room.
Fantastic breakfast with varieties of options available to eat, with a Muslim halal food corner, don’t miss it it is a great pounce. The executive lounge is big advance treat variety of food and drinks you can enjoy after a long day.
Everything and specially Muslim friendly environment and Halal food.

Blending contemporary and traditional Chinese design elements, the air-conditioned rooms all come with a flat-screen TV, minibar and personal safe. En suite bathrooms are equipped with a bathtub and hot-water showers.

Straightforward rooms with dark wood furnishings feature free Wi-Fi and cable TV, along with safes and minibars. Upgraded club rooms offer amenities such as complimentary breakfast, drinks and limo airport transfers. Suites have separate living rooms.
Amenities include 4 upscale restaurants with bars, including a top-floor seafood restaurant. There’s a 24-hour gym, an outdoor pool and a spa, plus tennis courts and shops.
We booked a premier room with breakfast. As we are Muslim and fasting, we asked to exchange the breakfast with a dinner, and the request was approved with kindness immediately.
Dinner was very good. We did not try lots of options with meat (because not halal) but there was enough vegetarian and seafood options to eat well and enjoy your dinner.
The hotel design seems to be insignificant and neglected from the outside, but gives the surprise once you are inside. We were pleased to discover the different mural paintings, hidden gardens, waterfalls and fountains.
Just 2 minutes walk and Halal Turkish food.
There was quite a few Halal restaurants around the hotel, with famous Sultan Restaurant across the street, but if you take a left and walk towards McDonalds and KFC on the left side of the hotel, you will find few others, from Mexican, to grill chicken to arabic all displaying Halal signs.
