For syariah hotel, Gren Alia Cikini is a nice one. I was there in a group for a pesantren kilat organized by Remaja Islam Sunda Kelapa. The hotel can be easily noticed from cikini main one way road. Located right in front of Ibis Budget Hotel Cikini. There are many eateries around the hotel round the clock.

The hotel itself is not a current trendy hotel. It has that early nineties atmosphere. The staff is friendly but a little more training would be nice.

Since it is a syariah hotel, men and women are not allowed to be in the same room unless legally married, or related.

The hotel management is very strict about this policy. Also no alcohol and food contain pork are served and allowed to be consumed in the hotel.

The room was decent in size, slightly bigger than budget hotel room.

The bed was comfortable, but there’s no safe deposit box available. They do provide each room with refrigerator and electric water kettle though. The bathroom was also very decent in size, a bit old though.

If you are Muslim and looking for Syariah Hotel, this is one of the best Syariah Hotel in the centre of Jakarta. The location is very central and easy to reach from Railway.

The hotel location surrounded by many restaurant and mini market as well. The Grand Indonesia Shopping Mall also easy to reach.

Many Muslim look for the syariah hotel because of their facilities such as the prayer room, restaurant with halal food as well as the Islamic atmosphere during their stay and yes, you will get it when you are here.
The room was quite big and the bed was comfortable, They do have TV and International channel with their new flat TV.

Breakfast was amazing, the local and international food in buffet style offer you from the egg corner until the dessert.The main course also offer you Indonesian food.

The American breakfast also available with selected salad and cheese.

It was still a very decent breakfast – waffles in particular were really good – but with all the other high standards in this place I was expecting a little more.

It’s all halal, which can be a disappointment to those of us who would like to have real bacon and sausages, and too much of the food was too cold in the air conditioned room.

The hotel is located in a pleasant Menteng district of Jakarta. It was originally an old colonial building. I arrived very late at night. The lobby is very small, but charming. Reception is a small table manned by a staff. But I felt the warmth and hospitality from the word go. After the smooth check in, I was showed to my room by the reception staff. The room as in the pics consists of a living area separated from the bedroom by the bathroom.
Room was charming, clean and spacious.

Breakfast spread was not too extensive, but the food was very good. The meeting rooms was not too big, just enough for about less than 100.

For the practising Muslims, there is a small mosque 300 metres away.

The historic Jakarta suburb of Menteng is a product of the early 20th Century, and the Hotel Hermitage brings up to date the old Telecommunications Building.

It is on a quiet street surrounded by a sense of the old elite, with many converted family homes now serving as restaurants, schools, salons and even clinics.

The Cikini train station is around the corner, and it is only a quick taxi journey to shopping options. The famous Jalan Surabaya “antique row” is two minutes walk to the east. If they don’t have the antique you want they can make it in just a few days.

The hotel is packed with very attentive, personable and helpful staff, and the breakfast buffet is one of the few places that still offers crispy pork bacon — though you have to order this since in deference to Muslim sensibilities pork products are not displayed.

The walls are covered in reprints of scenes of old Jakarta and huge reproductions of ancient maps. Don’t miss the 9th/10th floor rooftop pool and lounge area with amazing panoramas of Jakarta. I have only stayed on the first and second floors in spacious renovated rooms in the original building. These are ideal.

I understand the higher level rooms are smaller. I would always go for the bigger room with lots of work space.The rooms are all you might want — quiet, comfortable, well maintained, and with good work and sitting spaces.
