Halal Hotels Langkawi

Malaysia is a country whose most professed religion is Islam. As of 2013, there were approximately 19.5 million Muslim adherents, or 61.3% of the population

By Crescent Rating, Malaysia is 1st rated among most Muslim-friendly countries.

How many mosques are there in Malaysia

The total number of mosques in Malaysia at present is around 6,077 which were based on the data obtained from Department of Islamic Development (JAKIM) website. On the average, about ninety two percent (92%) of mosques in each state of Malaysia falls under the category of qaryah mosques.

Like other tourists, Muslim travelers coming from Islamic countries have particular requirements when they choose the destination for their vacation. Among these requirements, Muslims are concerned about the availability of halal compliant foods (no pork or alcohol in food) and a clean place to pray.

Many international hotels in Malaysia do serve halal food that is slaughtered in accordance with the teachings of Islamic Sharia and is free of any substances forbidden by Islam such as pork and alcohol.

Other Islamic countries such as Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Morocco, Oman and Brunei continue to be popular with Muslim tourists. Among non-OIC countries, Singapore, Thailand, the UK, Japan and Taiwan remain the top five respectively, but show improved scores on the index.

Staff is attentive, efficient, friendly and discreet. Everywhere, from front desk to poolside to gym to restaurants.
The food is delicious – we tried the Thai, the beach and the Indo-Malay restaurants, and loved them all.
Breakfast is a dream, with plenty of options and chefs cooking up pretty much anything one could wish for. Juices are pressed fresh and upon request, mixing fruit and veg.
And the beach! A long stretch of sand embraced by trees in a beautiful bay.
Rooms are tastefully furnished, beds comfortable. No cheap lighting or furniture anywhere.

Little extra attentions are the norm: from a fine patisserie cake and champagne welcoming us to our room as we celebrated our first wedding anniversary, to waiters bringing chilled water and ice lollies or ice cream regularly to guests lounging by the beach.

The breakfast is also a highlight. Enjoy a glass or more of blanc de blanc as you wait for your own Malay soup to be prepared, or naan or roti made as you watch. The different food stations are a highlight of this time of the day! We enjoyed delicious mango lassis (big thanks to the most attentive Logan!), tropical fruits, and omelettes filled with an array of fillings.

The spa is excellent – it is an open air pavilion looking out to the rainforest – and we enjoyed the massage and the scrub and felt lightheaded and relaxed for days after.

Our room was located on the main building. The room was amazing, the bathroom is huge, great selection of drinks in the fridge and it’s complimentary except the alcohol and for Muslims, they provided prayer mat and kiblat direction too. The room is also serviced twice a day.

One thing that amazed me is they have their own clinic inside. I was having a light headache and called the reception for a paracetamol. Shortly after, the clinic called and came to deliver what I needed. Great facility!

We stayed in a private villa with a plunge pool. This was quite expensive (about £450 a night) but it was worth the experience. The villa itself was very spacious. It had a big tv, iPod, day bed, balcony and lots of wardrobe space. We each had the most comfortable ever bathrobe. I actually felt like stealing it (obviously I didn’t) but it was that comfortable. The plunge pool was about 4m by 3m. It was great to go in after a hot day out. Sometimes the water was a bit cold though as the pool is shaded by the trees. The resort had excellent Wi-Fi everywhere.

Muslim Friendly Hotels Langkawi
Muslim Friendly Hotels Langkawi

About 15 minutes after we arrived in our room, a hotel worker came to drop off a complementary non-alcoholic beverage in an ice bucket (we are Muslim) with two glasses. This was a lovely touch and the drink tasted great. We were also given a complimentary fruit plate.

We ate at the Gulai House one evening and had lunch at the Beach Restaurant. Both were nice with excellent customer service, but they were a bit expensive. One of the downsides of the resort is that it is in a very remote part of Langkawi. If you want to go anywhere it costs around £10 each way, so I think if you can drive, you should hire a car as this will be cheaper if you plan to go out a lot. The hotel does offer though complimentary shuttle service to some of the towns in Langkawi so worth taking that as it will save you money.

I hope one day to return to the Datai. If you are considering booking a holiday there, just do it. You won’t regret it.

The rooms is spacious with very beautiful scenery of the Andaman Sea , especially during dawn and sunrise. The food at their cafe is delicious which you can get both local and international cuisine. There is a 24 hours room service and for muslim ladies , you don’t have to worry as there is a separate pool for muslim ladies.

Strategically located in the town area of Kuah, this hotels not only offers best food during breakfast, better gym and separate swimming pool (for men and women), this hotel is also Muslim friendly hotel.

The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The breakfast was good and plentiful. Front desk service was excellent. The swimming pool is OK. There is a fairly strong Muslim religious atmosphere in the hotel: no alcohol with prayers relayed over the public address system outside the rooms.

The hotel was exceptionally clean and well kept. The staff greets with salams which was refreshing. The bed was comfortable and shower was brilliant. The view of langkawi from the balcony was amazing. It’s a Muslim friendly hotel thus a Quran and prayer mat is provided. Also there’s a private pool for the ladies!

There is a KFC and other eateries within walking distance but you have to try dining at their restaurant. All the food we ordered were tasty. The breakfast buffet was not that impressive and we ordered cappuccino at the lobby which was expensive and pricey.

It is a shariah-compliant hotel that is suitable not only to Muslims but to non-Muslims as well. There was a shuttle bus to take Muslim men for Jumaat prayers.

The hotel has a restaurant which operated 24 hours in which the food was delicious and very cheap. The breakfast buffet was very good with both local and continental dishes. Ample selection and the food is always being replenished.

Spacious room. Great ambience. When it is time for Solah, hotel guest can hear the Adzan calling be it at the lobby or fm the hotel room corridor. They provide Al’Quran, Surah Yassin book and it is nicely stack on the shelf. Very convenient for Muslim travellers. Hotel location in Kuah. No doubt the buffet spread was served Halal too.

There’s swimming pool for ladies and mens. Friendly & helpful staffs. There are few cheap affordable seafood restaurants near hotel. 5mins walk to the mall. I highly recommend this hotel.

With views of the sparkling Andaman Sea, the pristine jewels of nature can be enjoyed from the comforts of our elegantly designed 221 luxurious guestrooms and suites.

Private Pool Villas boast state-of-the-art amenities, as well as the ultimate luxury of an infinity pool.

From the moment we arrived we were treated warmly and professionally. The staff were exemplary and we had many a friendly conversation. Nothing was too much trouble, and we were ably assisted with anything we needed. This, really, is the essence of a good stay.

We dined twice in Tide restaurant – the setting (beach side), the staff (again!) and the glorious Middle Eastern food made those occasions very memorable. Affable Chef Rami, on sabbatical from Dubai’s Ritz-Carlton, was very generous with his time and explanation of the dishes.

The buffet breakfast covers Asian, Western and Middle eastern cuisine; there were many young Saudi Arabian couples staying, no doubt attracted in part by the halal food. The food was quality and there was almost too much choice.

We stayed in a King Ocean View room. It had everything we needed, and plenty of space, including a balcony.

The beach is nicely maintained – raked regularly – and the water shallow and warm.

The resort is a 10-minute walk from the southern end of Kuah, and easy stroll though lush grounds (with monkeys, squirrels and hornbills) to the yacht club and jetty area.

Buffet breakfast was superb and lasts until 11.00 a.m. and beyond. The sparkling wine ( NOT champagne) is a nice touch for non-Muslim guests. A fantastic selection of breads, fruits, salads, cheeses, cooked foods renders lunch unthinkable.

Apart from the clean and modern room, the hotel is equipped with a DVD player and a 40 or 42 inch LED TV with satellite TV channels. The toiletries are a must try when you visit this hotel as the three of us love the smell of the soap and shampoo very much. There’s a huge bathtub in the room for those who prefer to soak before a warm shower.

The minibar comes with alcohol and other drinks. Muslim guests can request the hotel staff to remove the alcohol from the fridge if it’s inappropriate.

The resort is obviously a favourite for honeymooners – and also many Muslims from middle east etc. So if you bare put off by women dressed like the Grim Reaper – this may not be the place for you!

Set amidst centuries-old rainforest fauna and nature, and the glimmering Andaman Sea, The St. Regis Langkawi proffers the best beachfront resort experience with 85 suites and 4 over-water villas.
ROOM:New & Luxurious! Oh, the bed was amazing and the room looks so classy and modern. St Regis upholds their standard here i must say. 5 star indeed.

Also, due to being a Muslim country predominantly, you won’t find any pork products.

All of the staff were very helpful and the girls at the SPA were outstanding as well.

Breakfast was really good, with several variations of eggs and flowing mimosas, of course including malay and chinese items and several others. Kayuputi is a beautiful restaurant with a sunset deck, where u can sip drinks sitting on the edge of the bay, and the best part is Westin is right beside, and the hotel offers buggy ride there to try their restaurants.
Their beach isn’t really great, no blue sea or white sand, u can find a lot of broken shells scattered and its by the bay, but you can relax on the loungers or hammocks.

St Regis Langkawi has got off to a good start. The hotel, which only opened its doors this year, showcases the best of Malaysian and regional food, art and artifacts. It is set with lush rainforest as its backdrop, looking out to sea, with its own private beach and bungalows built over the water.

We stayed at the penthouse, overlooking the rainforests and ocean.

The Champagne breakfast was lavish offering the best of Asian cuisine – mostly Malay, and Thai, but also Japanese and Chinese buffet. The papaya salad was especially good. A whole room is set aside for freshly baked bread and pastries. Off the menu we ordered wagyu steak, the Chef’s seafood fried rice and lobster omelette. Waiters brought samples of other delicacies to our table. As well as tea, coffee and orange juice, a table featuring fruit and herb health juices was on offer. Platters of fresh fruit were kept overflowing at the main table. We’ve never had better.

St Regis Langkawi is a great place to lay back and chill out. There’s a gym down stairs but the yoga room was a bit mouldy and could do without piped music. Outdoor workouts were lacking. Jogging is possible, but a walking track up the steep hills into the rainforest would be special. In the end we walked into town and back to get some activity. But it was the rainy season, so the island hopping, snorkelling and hiking activities weren’t on offer.

Otherwise great service, great food, great artwork, great accommodation and, overall, a stay to remember.

5. Ambong-Ambong Langkawi Rainforest Retreat 4* – Halal Hotels Langkawi

Ambong-Ambong Langkawi Rainforest Retreat

Ambong-Ambong Langkawi Rainforest Retreat offers an adult-only getaway amidst tropical surroundings. Located on a steep hill within the rainforest, rooms are only accessible via long staircases. It is a 4-minute drive from Pantai Cenang, a 15-minute drive from Langkawi Airport and a 30-minute drive from Kuah Town.

Modern rooms each come with a balcony offering forest views. A flat-screen satellite TV and free WiFi is provided.

For recreation, an outdoor pool is available. On-site spa and massage treatments can be arranged upon request. Staff can provide laundry services and sightseeing arrangement assistance.

On a hillside amid tropical rainforests, this tranquil lodging is 5 minutes’ walk from Pantai Tengah beach, and 3.5 km from Laman Padi Langkawi museum.

Featuring elegant wooden furniture, balconies and sitting areas, the 6 studio-style villas offer free Wi-Fi, satellite TV, minifridges and microwaves. The 3 airy suites add 4-poster beds, and terraces with wooden tubs and ocean views. There are also 2-bedroom cottages.

A Japanese restaurant overlooks the Andaman Sea, and there’s also a cafe/bar, a yoga deck and a pool. Spa treatments and yoga classes are available.

Ambong-Ambong Rainforest Retreat Langkawi is an adults-only, boutique resort perched on a slope, overlooking the sea and islands of Langkawi. With only 11 studios, suites and cottages, we are known for our warm personalised service and extraordinary staff.
Surrounded by nature, with breathtaking views, if you are looking for a place to unwind and recharge, we could well be the right place for you.
It’s situated at the southern end of Pantai Tengah Beach. It’s about 5 minutes walk to the beach and 15 minutes easy walk to the small parade of local shops and restaurants. The main commercial area is about 25 minutes walk away. But the price of taxis are so cheap it makes no sense to walk, especially with the heat and humidity. The average price of a taxi to the main commercial area was 10 MR.
The accommodation has been sensitively built in the rainforest. Examples of this are that roofs of some buildings have been cut around trees, paths have been laid around trees rather than felling them.
The suite was lovely with excellent views across the top of the rainforest and the bay. We were able to watch the sunsets from our open lounge. We had great views across to the cable car in the far distance. The air conditioned bedroom made for a great retreat. On our arrival our bed had been made up with flowers in the shape of a heart. On our actual anniversary staff again made up the bed with floral displays.

The small bar, the Good Earth Cafe, is an excellent place for afternoon and pre-dinner drinks. They have free afternoon tea and coffee with a variety of local snacks. At 5pm it’s happy hour with drinks at reduced prices. If you are eating out not far away they will drive you to the restaurant and pick you up. If they cannot they will get you a taxi and ensure that you know the price of the taxi beforehand.

The swimming pool may appear small but it is perfect for the size of Ambong Ambong. Virtually ever day we had the pool area to ourselves. At the pool staff would bring us iced water and fresh juices. Perfect for relaxing after a day’s shopping or sightseeing.

Internet access is generally good. On occasions the Wifi dropped but when we told the staff they fixed it straight away.
