How many mosques are there in Philippines?
Like other tourists, Muslim travelers coming from Islamic countries have particular requirements when they choose the destination for their vacation. Among these requirements, Muslims are concerned about the availability of halal compliant foods (no pork or alcohol in food) and a clean place to pray.
Many international hotels in Philippines do serve halal food that is slaughtered in accordance with the teachings of Islamic Sharia and is free of any substances forbidden by Islam such as pork and alcohol.
Other Islamic countries such as Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Morocco, Oman and Brunei continue to be popular with Muslim tourists. Among non-OIC countries, Singapore, Thailand, the UK, Japan and Taiwan remain the top five respectively, but show improved scores on the index.

Hotel was huge and luxurious however lacks the modern touch. Rooms were huge and clean but very dated décor.
Staffs were polite and very helpful and I feel very safe with hotel’s security. Check-in was fuss free and swift.
What I really love about this hotel is the abundance of Halal food available for in-room dining. While Halal food is scarce in Manila (especially for first timers), this is definitely a huge bonus. My aglio olio was delicious too!
Location is superb! Love it that it is so near many shopping malls- both luxury and midrange. Makes it easier for business travelers to sneak out for a quick shopping anytime.

This was our first visit to Manila so we weren’t sure of area’s but our friends are members of Accor so they booked here. What a fabulous hotel so friendly it is!
The pool area is lovely with a big pool with waterfall and a smaller pool for kids, attached to that is a bar where you can drinks and food. Also on that floor is the gym where we went every day well equipped.
Down stairs is a magnificent ice cream shop so fresh and you can buy a cake or two as well. For breakfast and dinner there is a buffet huge variety, everything you could want.
It also has a coffee shop and another restaurant you can eat and drink all day. We loved this place with it’s amazing friendly staff . Our room was great King bed, well appointed bathroom, storage space.
Full length windows block out blinds. Only negative they need new towels. If you going to Manila give this hotel a go we are so glad we did, we never felt unsafe anywhere day or night.
We went on day tours but the traffic is unreal, you can get a car from the hotel to take you out for a small fee. Thank you for a wonderful week.

However, for muslim, you need to be careful when you eat in the restaurant, because there is no sign of halal food or not, you need to ask first about the contained ingredients.
Marco polo hotels are a prominent name in the industry. This particular one captures the imagination with its awesome view (i got the view overlooking Metrowalk), excellent guest relation service 24/7, and a good deco of the room and common area. The lobby is located at the 24th floor. The restaurants are fantastic (would appreciate if there’s more choice of Halal food).
The security is top notch. Great location opposite the Metrowalk, within walking distance to Robinson Galleria, and in short, your everyday need is just around the corner. The swimming pool overlooks Ortigas (great view). Highly recommended.
Room wise, I liked it, though it could have been better with more illumination. Bed was comfy and sizeable.
Pillows were comfy too. Bathroom comes with a tub and standing shower. Water pressure and heat were nice. No bidet for the toilet.
Bathroom amenities were good. View from room wasn’t so nice. Wifi was fast. TV channels did not offer much to desire. In-room dining could have been better in terms of taste.
The hotel is very near to Robinsons Galleria (15 minutes walk). There are McDonald’s and Chatime nearby (3 minutes walk).
Opposite the hotel where the Starbucks is, there’s a Persian halal restaurant (15 minutes walk). We also walked to SM Megamall (30 minutes).

This hotel was absolutely amazing, beautiful and top notch rooms and facilities, and an attentive staff which goes above and beyond for tiniest of request.
The quality of food served was 5 star, not a single complain.
Dusit Mactan delivered! It was all that it said and advertised that it would be, and so much more. Its new so facilities are impecable, despite the limited operations. Not all restos are open but the one beside the pool served well.
The infinity pool is its #1 come on but I love their lobby best. Nothing gives a more hearty welcome than an open expansive view of the Cebu mainland right as soon as you get off your car at the entrance.
Staff were amazing! Loved how they helped each other to make things fast for guests.
Tip for the best stay: spend a little more for the sea view rooms and on higher floors. Those right beside or right above the pool can be very noisy and those not facing the sea look over the parking lot and at a condo complex beside the resort.
They have a beach front but its not idyllic for swimming but guests can enjoy the gazebo at the end of a small pier to watch the sunset.
Its not near the commercial areas so if you need stuff, get them before going to the resort. There is a new 7-11 in the area but not within walking distance.
Only bummer was this very loud karaoke place right beside the resort where off-key singing kept on going til around midnight. Better ask for ear plugs from the staff for those who have low tolerance for noise.
Thank you Dusit for that very relaxing weekend! We will be back!

Parking and breakfast are free. There are 4 restaurants, a modern gym, a kids’ play area and a private beach, as well as a spa with 14 therapy rooms.
Free snorkel gear and kayak use – well worth it! Snorkel at the clam cages to see so many pretty fish species (Nemo and Dory type included). The kayaks were good exercise against the current, and it’s worth paddling over to see the cliffs.
The food: yum!
– Breakfast buffet was included with our room; we could eat our stay at brekkie alone. Great selection and service (thanks, Hannah and Clare!).
– Azure Restaurant for lunch and dinner served Malay, Indian and pizza mostly – it wasn’t too pricey for a resort, but the beers (180 PHP) will get you.
Arrived at the resort with nothing short of just smiles and more smiles with hand gestures on the heart. Completely blown away by the wonderful hospitality… me and family are happy. Once I declared that I need everything halal…we are Muslims from Singapore… Jedah at the front counter immediately requested for everything in the room to be ‘halal‘ and marked us in the system so that all service staff is aware about us. Impeccable I must say.
Upon checking into the room, I received my praying mat, and the holy Quran.
