According to the constitution, the country is a Muslim state, with full sovereignty, and Islam is the religion of the state. The constitution guarantees freedom of thought, expression, and assembly, and says the state guarantees every individual the freedom to practice his religious affairs.

Islam is the largest religion in Morocco, with more than 99% of the population adhering to it. The largest subset of Muslims in Morocco are Maliki Sunni; other numerous groups include practitioners of Zahirism and non-denominational Muslims.

The North African country of Morocco (officially a kingdom) is ideal for Muslim travelers. Almost 99 percent of the population is Muslim. Not just that, tourism is one of the main pillars of Moroccan economy, which makes the place tourist-friendly.
By Crescent Rating, Russia is rated 7th among most Muslim-friendly countries.
How many mosques are there in Morocco?
This is a list of mosques in Morocco. According to the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs in 2016, there are around 41,755 mosques in Morocco, of which 16,489 are Jama Masjids, and 10,061 are specifically designated as culturally significant.

The Muslim friendly hotel means a hotel that has Islamic characteristics that can provide basic facilities that are more friendly to Muslim customers such as a Qibla direction indicator, the availability of prayer tools, the presence of halal food / list of nearby restaurants that provide halal food.

Like other tourists, Muslim travelers coming from Islamic countries have particular requirements when they choose the destination for their vacation. Among these requirements, Muslims are concerned about the availability of halal compliant foods (no pork or alcohol in food) and a clean place to pray.

Many international hotels in Morocco do serve halal food that is slaughtered in accordance with the teachings of Islamic Sharia and is free of any substances forbidden by Islam such as pork and alcohol.

Other Islamic countries such as Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Morocco, Oman and Brunei continue to be popular with Muslim tourists. Among non-OIC countries, Singapore, Thailand, the UK, Japan and Taiwan remain the top five respectively, but show improved scores on the index.

In a former 18th-century palace with an ornately tiled interior courtyard, this relaxed riad in the walled Medina district is an 8-minute walk from the bustling Jemaa el-Fnaa square and 5 km from Marrakesh Menara Airport.

There’s a cozy restaurant and a bar. A spa area with a hammam offers massages and beauty treatments.

After a busy’ and sometimes rugged tour, we soaked in this Riads stunning and intricate tiled areas, in the cool calm greenery surrounding the central area, listened to gorgeous music and enjoyed champagne and delicious food. The staff were so kind and friendly and looked after us very well. They chatted and gave us details of their lives in Morocco which were interesting and made us feel warmly welcomed. Our room was gorgeous, spacious and overlooked the pool – clean, exotic and so very comfortable.

I loved that this place was hidden away from the crazy madness of glorious Marrakech – and stepping through the doorway, we entered such a calm serene and relaxing atmosphere, that we just sat for hours the first day taking it all in.

A multitude of stairs and corridors just have to be explored, all leading to beautiful books and crannies and hidden away peaceful areas. The pool and restaurant area was a delight – the small pool very refreshing after a 45 degree day out in the sun. The roof terrace was lovely, especially early in the morning.

The breakfast was great and the staff all lovely.

Absolutely stunning Riad, with extremely kind and helpful staff and an amazingly friendly and organised owner. Made our stay extra special. Breakfast and dinner were great quality also. Cannot recommend enough.

The Riad is amazing, peaceful and stunning. There are many places to sit and enjoy the surroundings including a spacious roof terrace. We were in the Koutoubia room on the first floor. It was beautiful, clean spacious and cool. The staff were friendly and courteous at all times and could not do enough to make our stay relaxing. Our room was scented with jasmine.

Breakfast was a delicious buffet in the courtyard by the pool. Our stay was perfect. The Riad is located close to everything you would want to see and do in Marrakech. Thank you for your hospitality.

Elegant suites with 2 bathrooms feature Wi-Fi, flat-screen TVs and balconies, plus kitchens, dining rooms and lounges; some have balconies. Upgraded suites add extra bedrooms and roof or garden terraces. Room service is available.

Breakfast is complimentary.

Amenities include Moroccan and international restaurants, and a poolside bar. There’s also an outdoor pool, a pirate-themed pool and a kids’ club, plus a climbing wall, a zip-line and nightly entertainment.

Le Vizir offers tranquility away from the centre.

The hotel is very welcoming and staff are happy to help with your requests.

The solarium suite is perfect for a family with a double bed, twin beds and sofa beds. All rooms are located close together which is reassuring. There is a kitchen stocked with what is necessary to cook. Outside there is a large roof terrace which is beautiful and private enough to sunbathe on and has plenty of space for children.

Breakfast is varied and a good quality, you wont struggle to find something you like, theres both healthy and unhealthy options for all.

The rooms are well maintained and serviced daily. We didn’t find any cleanliness concerns or any dating to put suite for that matter. The soap is always plentiful refilled and a fresh bottled of water given daily.

The hotel grounds are green and lush with friendly gardeners dotted around. Theres a picturesque long pool located in the estate as well as a huge children’s play pool. Unfortunately we only put our feet in as it was too cold.

Theres activities for children on site such as rope climbing, rock climbing and archery.

The daily shuttle bus is regular we always took one bus into town but often took a taxi back costing between 100 to 150 Dirham and taking around 20 mins.

The last return bus at this time of year is 730pm and going into town first bus is 10am.it does drop you off 10 mins from centre, download offline gps and it’s a pleasant stroll to the medina.

As a practising muslim family visiting this location there is both faults and room for improvements.

The hotel staff are pleasant, respectful and have good manners.
Theres no vulgarity we saw.
The ladies have a dedicated and private pool-spa.
There no alcohol available or welcome on the site.

Theres is some rooms for improvement for me to say it’s a fantastic halal resort.

The hotel has 2 main pools- one for relaxing and one activity pool. There is another ‘ladies only’ pool but none of our party visited it. The pools are lovely and well staffed throughout the day (the lifeguards are very vigilant so the pool is very, very safe). Pool towels are available if you request them but we had our own.

There is no slide at the pool (no this is not advertised as some reviewers have indicated) but there is a slide in the hotels playground. The activity pool is great fun and has a range of depths for kids/adults of all ages.

Be clear- this hotel is alcohol free (not just during Ramadan). However, you can buy alcohol in supermarkets and keep it in your room.

3. Hotel Royal Mansour Marrakech 5* – Halal Hotels Marrakech

Royal Mansour Marrakech

Offering an outdoor and indoor pool, Royal Mansour Marrakech is located in Marrakech. The property is 1.2 mi from Bahia Palace and a 5-minute walk from the famous Djemaa El Fna square.

Featuring free Wi-Fi access in all areas, units will provide you with a flat-screen TV and air conditioning. There is a kitchen equipped with kitchenware, a microwave and an electric kettle. Private bathrooms also come with a bath or shower.

Guests can also enjoy local and international dishes at one of the 4 onsite restaurants. A range of drinks is provided at the 3 bars.

Set on landscaped grounds, this opulent luxury hotel is 14 minutes’ walk from Jemaa el-Fnaa, a lively square in Marrakesh’s Medina (old city), and 5 km from Marrakesh Menara Airport.

Lavish 3-story traditional houses feature courtyard patios, living rooms, and rooftop terraces with plunge pools and fireplaces. All have flat-screen TVs, free Wi-Fi and minibars. Upgraded houses add kitchens with personal butlers, steam rooms and hammams.

There are 2 fine dining restaurants, plus a Mediterranean eatery with a terrace.

There’s a chic bar, a sleek piano bar and a cigar bar. Other amenities include indoor and outdoor pools, a spa and a kids’ club.

A few steps from Jemaâ El Fna Place, the Royal Mansour Marrakech is set within the walls of Marrakesh old city. The hotel was born out of a vision to create a spectacular masterpiece exceeding the demands of today’s discerning traveler, while reflecting the true essence of Moroccan tradition. There are no suites or rooms at Royal Mansour. Upon their arrival, guests are escorted through the Medina and gardens to their private residence, a traditional Moroccan Riad. This is the only hotel in the world offering that unique concept.

There are a total of 53 Riads of 1 to 4 rooms, all with private courtyards, fountains, and plunge pools, dining rooms and hammams in the larger ones. Each Riad is uniquely decorated and lavishly appointed in honour of Moroccan authenticity.

The hotel is magnificent! Every detail handcrafted (almost 80% was made by hand) was jaw-dropping. The room which is actually a riad, has 3 floors so you have a private living room plus powder room in one floor, the room plus bathroom in another and finally your private terrace with a heated pool.

The staff was so kind and helpful in every possible aspect. The spa is a chapter by itself, even if you don’t want to experience the traditional hammam you must get a massage and enjoy the beautiful architecture. Take at least one day of your stay to spend by the pool, either the outdoor or the indoor, the environment is perfect to relax, enjoy the nice weather and have a perfect lunch at Le Jardin (the sushi was delicious).

For dinner you have 3 options so you better book at least 3 nights, moroccan, italian and french/international cuisine. We booked the moroccan and italian and it was delightful.
I swear I tried to find any failure but it was impossible.

I traveled all over the world because of my business and I can say with great confidence that the Royal Mansour in Marrakech, Morocco, is one of the best, if not the besthotel experiences one can have either on business or vacation.

The three floored riad with spacious rooms will give you plenty of space and privacy along with perfectly managed gardens and facilities. Also, Mohammad (I hope I’m spelling his name right) at the restaurant was just amazing with great personality and services that would make anyone feel great about the day to come.

He took time to explain about the Moroccan foods and his hometown, Berber, and his impeccable service was far from machine-like services filled with superficial mannerisms that you may experience from five star+ hotels from time to time. His friendly yet professional services were just so pleasant.

Overall, I’d highly recommend staying at the hotel and enjoying the facilities here that the royal family owns. Excellency throughout.

4. Oasis lodges 4* – Halal Hotels Marrakech

Oasis lodges

Oasis lodges has a garden, fitness center, and a bar in Marrakech. Boasting a 24-hour front desk, this property also welcomes guests with a restaurant and a year-round outdoor pool. The hotel features an indoor pool and free WiFi.

At the hotel, the rooms are fitted with a terrace. At Oasis lodges the rooms are equipped with a flat-screen TV, a private bathroom, and a patio with a garden view.

Oasis lodges offers a children’s playground.

We honestly had a fantastic stay at this hotel, highly recommend this for anyone looking for a beautiful and quiet place to stay near the city. This is the place to relax.

What we appreciated the most during our 3 night stay:
– the spacious, spotlessly clean lodge and beautiful private garden
– free shuttle bus to medina (with a driver who gives super helpful tips)
– access to waterpark Oasiria’s heated pool(s) (waterpark is closed until the end of March, but there are a couple pools open all year)

– the warm-hearted service in the reception, the restaurants and at the bus. We felt like the personnel really cared about how we feel during our stay and they did their best to help us with all our questions.

– the possibility to order breakfast and other meals to our lodge for no extra costs

– the modern tv’s bought extra joy, for they had Netflix and the possibility to use screen share. It was nice to watch films and shows in Finnish.

This is the ideal place to stay in Marrakech if you have kids. The detached lodges have 2 bedrooms and a living area/small kitchenette. There’s also a large private garden and an outside terrace. They are well air conditioned and immaculately clean.

The breakfast, overseen by the french manager, is delicious: Berber pancakes, waffles and other pastries with honey and Nutella, fruit salad, eggs cooked as you like, and decent coffee.

There’s a free shuttle/minibus which takes you the 10 minute drives into the heart of the old town and back 4 times per day. If you want to travel outside these times it’s a 100dirham grand taxi fare (£8 ish). Reception can order taxis for you.

When you get tired of the crazy hustle and bustle of the souks and Medina, Oasis Lodges is a real oasis of calm to return to. The best bit in our kids’ opinion was the free access to the Oasiria water park every day! This place was lovely – very clean and well maintained with dedicated lifeguards around all the pools and slides. Not many sun beds available but the gras was lovely and thick so no hassle to sit on your towel under a tree. Le Jardin restaurant in the water park did a good lunch (tasty wood fired pizzas) and the upscale restaurant in the water park (La Paillotte) provides really delicious french food and good wines.

I would definitely return here if coming to Marrakech again with kids and would highly recommend it.

The Barcelo Palmeraie features 252 rooms offering luxury and comfort to guests, as well as 2 swimming pools and beautiful landscaped surroundings.

There is a fabulous 500 square metre Wellness Centre featuring a hammam, hot tub and several treatment rooms only open for our hotel guests.

The hotel is in a quiet location on the outskirts of Marrakech.
Rooms are in a separate area away from the restaurant, bar and swimming pool
so very quiet and peaceful. There is a tennis court on site. There is also a children’s play area and there are activities for children.

Enjoyed a lovely few days.

The zen pool as suggested very relaxing. Water only is served here so if you want a different drink or a snack nip down to the main pool. Apart from one breakfast when the cooked buffet food was tepid ( although obviously cooked) everything else was served appropriately and was a good quality.

We loved all the Moroccan dishes especially the tagines and salads. Eating local cuisine is a great part of the experience. Maybe not as many standard dishes ,pizza burgers etc but always something for those that want that.

Our superior room was well presented although as facing away from the main gardens not the best view. The argan toiletries were lovely and the cleaning was spot on.

The shuttle bus runs from 9am on the hour with a break 12 till 3 and returns on the half hour. Last bus back 6.30 because of Ramadan. I think it runs later at other times.

We don’t usually go all inclusive but glad we did. Service at the bar and restaurant was great with one small wobble (we were sitting in a quieter area). Try the non alcoholic cocktails at the pool bar.

lovely place to come back to from the mayhem of Marrakesh.
Looking forward to visiting again.
