How many mosques are there in India?
Like other tourists, Muslim travelers coming from Islamic countries have particular requirements when they choose the destination for their vacation. Among these requirements, Muslims are concerned about the availability of halal compliant foods (no pork or alcohol in food) and a clean place to pray.
Many international hotels in India do serve halal food that is slaughtered in accordance with the teachings of Islamic Sharia and is free of any substances forbidden by Islam such as pork and alcohol.
Other Islamic countries such as Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Morocco, Oman and Brunei continue to be popular with Muslim tourists. Among non-OIC countries, Singapore, Thailand, the UK, Japan and Taiwan remain the top five respectively, but show improved scores on the index.

Public transport from any of Mumbai airport terminals to Mumbai central is a nightmare. Apart from the million taxi touts who irritate the life out of you as you depart the airport doors, traffic is always congested. On a previous visit, it took us more than 1.5hours to get to our other hotel in Mumbai.
We were very relieved to have found this excellent hotel very close to airport with free transfers landing and departing.
As a muslim, what was especially appreciated was the full halal buffets, excellent prayer room in B2 level, & qibla direction in room.
I would definitely recommend this hotel if you want an easy & comfortable hotel in Mumbai (and especially if you are looking for a Halal hotel).
Good location, very near to the airport. Just 5 min. away by tuk-tuk. – Good and helpful staff – tasty breakfast and food – big room – the room is managed by an ipad, what is very comfortable and easy. – mentioned qibla direction for muslims I can recommend the hotel to other people as well.

The 21 st floor suite was very spacious overlooking the Arabian sea and brought nostalgia looking at the clear view of queen’s necklace. The suite also had a living room, beautiful bedroom, a plush bath tub and a exceedingly spacious bathroom. The housekeeping staff Helen and Shekhar ensures that the room was clean and provides us with everything we needed. The hospitality at the hotel was one-off-it’s kind.
Having stayed at other 5 star hotels in the past, I am yet to come across such classic display of hospitality combined with luxury. The property also a swimming pool and a restaurant fenix that were open and great!
The rooms were spacious and luxurious with a mesmerizing view. It was my mother’s first time staying at such a property in the city, and she just couldn’t get enough of the beautiful view of the Arabian Sea.
The rooms were well decorated as per request and they were even kind enough to have a sugar free cake in the room for my father. Everything and everyone was well taken care of.
Although only one restaurant was open and with a limited menu, everyone from the servers to the chef were nice enough to personally check on us, The service was, as expected from The Oberoi, as warm as home.
Overall, everyone had a great time thanks to the lovely rooms, beautiful view and amazing staff!

Well Taj is not any hospitality but it’s a dream. It’s an experience in itself. It is like hospitality , like royal , like a museum telling you century old stories of its existence.
So one must always experience this at least once in their life. (For average common man ). Elite always has that resource and situation leading then ro this experience many times.
Food quality is superb especially your lunch & dinner experience in Shamiana.
Taj Mahal Palace & Towers is a must visit for everyone who has been in Mumbai. To begin with, it is a surreal experience to watch the Gateway of India from inside the rooms while we have always looked at the Taj from the Gateway. I got a sea–facing room and a view covering both Gateway and Taj Palace.
The staff were extremely courteous and kind for all our wants. We even had a chance to take a tour of Taj Palace, and no words are enough to describe this behemoth of a structure. We had goosebumps at every turn of the hotel.
Please take your loved ones to Taj Palace at least once in your lifetime, and you will never regret it.
It was our first visit to the iconic Taj Mahal Tower. Right from the moment you step in you get to experience the luxury and royalty. Check in was smooth and quick. We got upgraded to higher floor with a semi sea facing view.
Quality and quantity of food was amazing in shamiana. Service too was tip notch! Special mention to Sunny and Janice!
Hygiene factors are well taken care of in the entire hotel despite being completely booked for the day.

Elegant rooms feature traditional Indian decor, intricate wall embellishments and free Wi-Fi. Upgraded rooms add living areas and sofas. Room service is available.
Breakfast and parking are included. There’s a restaurant, a poolside cafe and a lounge, as well as a library and displays of 17th-century antiques. Other amenities consist of an exercise room, an outdoor pool and a hot tub.
Definitely worth a stay just for the traditional Indian art and decoration in the beautiful courtyard, lobby, and pool area. The tradeoff though was that my room was stuffy and musty; and while the hotel is itself beautiful, it is in the middle of a not particularly inviting halal slaughterhouse district of Jaipur. Restaurant’s food is so-so — you can do better elsewhere in Jaipur. Wifi only works in the courtyard and lobby.
he main part of this hotel is amazing and a real step back into history. There are a number of reception rooms full of antique items and artworks that were apparently collected by relatives of the current owner. There is also a nice pool and shady veranda area at the rear. The staff are a little slow on service but that seems to be the same all over India. Breakfast was included and I especially loved the old crockery and tea pots!
The room we stayed in wasn’t in the main part of the hotel but in one of the separate wings at the side. It was on the upper floor and had much more light than the rooms downstairs as well as a balcony outside the room. The room itself was full of charm, with coloured glass windows and a lovely old tiled floor as well as a daybed!
However it was a little jaded and the air con unit was literally falling off the wall so did need a bit of tlc.
The area around the hotel is near one of the main gates into the old part of the city and there are a number of interesting fruit, vegetable, spice and flower market stalls to walk around nearby.
It did feel safe during the day but one of our group did experience a bit of hassle walking on their own through the muslim area.
Would definitely recommend if you love heritage properties but bear in mind it is a little rough around the edges.
