Halal Hotels Scotland
Like other tourists, Muslim travelers coming from Islamic countries have particular requirements when they choose the destination for their vacation. Among these requirements, Muslims are concerned about the availability of halal compliant foods (no pork or alcohol in food) and a clean place to pray.
Many international hotels in Scotland do serve halal food that is slaughtered in accordance with the teachings of Islamic Sharia and is free of any substances forbidden by Islam such as pork and alcohol.
Other Islamic countries such as Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Morocco, Oman and Brunei continue to be popular with Muslim tourists. Among non-OIC countries, Singapore, Thailand, the UK, Japan and Taiwan remain the top five respectively, but show improved scores on the index.

The decor is fantastic. The staff were so friendly, welcoming and helpful! This was a last-minute booking and we had not mentioned to the hotel at all that we are Muslim, nor had we asked for any special requests.
However, the hotel remarkably had kept a Qu’ran in the bedside table with a Qibla arrow sticker for the direction of prayer, a prayer mat in the cupboard (high quality and cushioned might I add), a clean and sophisticated ‘lota’ in the bathroom and they arranged halal meat for all our meals (the meat is sourced from London).
We were blown away by the personalised and customised experience, especially considering we hadn’t even mentioned we were Muslim, I can’t recommend this hotel enough.
I have never seen a hotel put so much effort to make its guests comfortable. The thoughtfulness just exceeded all expectations.
5 star dinner and 5 star service – great culture of a personalised very friendly service. loved staying here for a weekend break.
Dinner was a highlight and we were pleasantly surprised to have the choice of halal meat. There was even a prayer mat left in our room.
The staff are absolutely wonderful, very clean hotel, set in beautiful tranquil surroundings (between mountains and a loch). The hotel provides complimentary water and The White Company toiletries. Our room had a microwave, decent size fridge/freezer and sink.
The hotel is in a remote location, which we absolutely loved. The hotel caters for halal food and also provides a Quran and prayer mat in the room (let hotel know in advance of your requirements).
Breakfast comprised a choice of cereals and fruit as well as a good choice of cooked options.
Don’t expect bacon or pork sausages with your cooked breakfast though as the waitress explained that they do not sell any pork products and that all meat used is Halal.

Pittodrie House is a beautiful old mansion in a great setting, but easily accessible from the A96.
Our room was huge and well appointed, very peaceful, although involved a lot of stairs which might cause problems for less agile guests. The receptionist did say there were more accessible rooms available.
We enjoyed two delicious dinners in the formal dining room, which suited us as fans of traditional fine dining with white tablecloths and crystal glasses!
Room & breakfast in the am were also both good. Room very comfortable with elemis toiletries.
Breakfast included both continental & cooked options which was delicious. Only slight improvement could have been around the water pressure in the shower, but that’s clutching at straws.
Beautiful hotel steeped in history & full of character. Fantastic room with beautiful original features although bathroom was tastefully modernised. Staff attentive & friendly at all times. Food was absolutely amazing & couldn’t fault anything about the meals we were served. Ok the wi-fi might be a bit unreliable but who cares when you are in such a beautiful, relaxing setting.
We were lucky enough to be given a tour of the hotel by the very knowledgeable & professional general manager. The hotel has a real character about it & many hidden secrets which adds to the mystique of this wonderful place.
Can’t wait to go back. Faultless stay.

Small bottles of red and white wine, bottles of beer, and mixers tonic, lemonade, cola, sparkling and still water. Decor is in a Scottish vibe with tribute to Rennie Mackintosh.
Very comfortable bed.
