How many mosques are there in China

In of 2014 there were 39,135 mosques in China, 25,000 of these are in Xinjiang, a north-west autonomous region, having a high density of one mosque per 500 muslims. In China, mosques are called Qīng Zhēn Sì (清真寺, “Pure truth temple”), a name which was also used by Chinese Jews for synagogues.

The Muslim friendly hotel means a hotel that has Islamic characteristics that can provide basic facilities that are more friendly to Muslim customers such as a Qibla direction indicator, the availability of prayer tools, the presence of halal food / list of nearby restaurants that provide halal food.

Like other tourists, Muslim travelers coming from Islamic countries have particular requirements when they choose the destination for their vacation. Among these requirements, Muslims are concerned about the availability of halal compliant foods (no pork or alcohol in food) and a clean place to pray.

Many international hotels in Shenzhen do serve halal food that is slaughtered in accordance with the teachings of Islamic Sharia and is free of any substances forbidden by Islam such as pork and alcohol.

Other Islamic countries such as Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Morocco, Oman and Brunei continue to be popular with Muslim tourists. Among non-OIC countries, Singapore, Thailand, the UK, Japan and Taiwan remain the top five respectively, but show improved scores on the index.

Location of the hotel is good, with a shopping Mall near by (10 Mins walk).

The breakfast has a good selection of food, big portion of it will be chinese style.

The Chinese restaurant have Delicious dim sum !! Prices are reasonable too.

Compared to other international hotel chains, this hotel is really not too bad. It has decent size rooms, comfortable bed, well equipped amenities and free WiFi. The exterior, furnitures and fittings are a little dated, but everything is in working condition. TV channels are quite limited but you should not be expected to spend too much time in the room considering the entertainment options the city has to offer.

Front desk staff are professional and efficient. From personal experiences, the entire process of checking in and out was a breeze. Knowing abit of Mandarin is especially helpful considering the limited English proficiency among most staff.

The housekeeping team are a friendly lot, most greet the guest with a friendly smile when they see you at the corridor. They also does a decent job in ensuring the room is clean and topped up with the basic essentials.

The Star Cafe offers a good mix of Western and Chinese choices for breakfast, and they start service as early as 6.30am. The favorite has to be the fresh dumplings soup, made on the spot on ordering. The main let down is that they do not vary the food choices a lot and after a couple of days, you could have sampled all the different dishes.

Location of the hotel is a big plus. Just behind it is a large interconnecting mall, where you literally shop till you drop as there is a whole lot of shops offering both international and local brands of fashion. If ever you get hungry, there is also plenty of cafes and restaurants to choose from. Just a stone throw away is another mall that specializes in electronics stuff and gadgets, all at very unreal prices.

The icing on this cake is that the hotel has a subway station near by which means that you can easily connect to all parts of Shenzhen (including the airport) both quickly and at very reasonable price.

All in all, this is a decent hotel which is centrally located that provides one with a comfortable stay for a couple of nights. It is like what they advertised; nothing more, nothing less!

One of the better Halal Restaurants in Shenzen. Visited the restaurant on Level 2. It is a big and nice restaurant. English Menu is available and serve a huge variety of food items. Place an order for us, 2 adult and 1 child.

So very surprised when the food servings were soooo huge. The fried chicken, was a Whole chicken. The fried rice and noodle was a big platter each, on top of the other items we ordered. Price is reasonable for the portion. Good food quality.

I have always chosen this hotel whenever I am here as it has good muslim facilities around the area such as eateries, mini mart, prayer room etc.

The Hotel is in a very nice location, 5 minutes away from the metro station. when you go out the Hotel, just right next to are 2 Halal food restaurants.

On the 8th floor there is a Masjid where muslims can attend to pray all 5 times prayer in Jamaah. I would definitely recommend this Hotel. Even the staff speaks a bit English.

We choose to stay here as we are Muslims & here they have halal food that we much needed during our stay.

The distance between Huang Bei Ling station and the hotel can be quite long if you carry your huge bag like we do. So, we choose to take bus to go around Shenzhen as the bus stop just near the hotel and you can conveniently go anywhere in Shenzhen by bus.

Do get the Shenzhen Tong (a prepaid transport card) at the train station for convenient smooth journey so you don’t need to search for coins for the bus ride.

The room is quite spacious to us as we previously stay in a tiny hostel in Hong Kong, and the price quite cheap too even for 2 nights.

For Muslim traveler, do stay here as you can try their halal local Chinese food. The food they serve we’re quite good and we even packed the food to Macau!

The St Regis Shenzhen occupies the 75th to the 100th floor of the Kingkey100 Building and commands only the impressive views from each of it’s elegant guest rooms and seductive facilities. Located in the heart of the Luohu district in the successful Special Economic Zone, this exclusive urban hotel is the tallest St Regis in the world.

With 290 beautifully appointed guest rooms, 2100 sqm of luxurious meeting space, the choice of 5 exquisite restaurants and bars plus a state of the art exercise room, 28m lap pool and the Iridium Spa, staying at the St Regis Shenzhen is an experience beyond expectation.

The rooms are fantastic. Floor to ceiling windows from the 76th floor and up offering an expansive view of Shenzhen. AC works great (can’t say that for all Chinese hotels) and the general amenities including the pool and gym are excellent. In house dining options are good with a wide variety of options at the breakfast place and a great Japanese restaurant among others.

Staff is very friendly and accommodating as well always trying to make your stay better. Stop by the Decanter for happy hour as well.

One of the things that I weigh more important than most other aspects during a hotel stay is the view. And this hotel serves just that! The hotel floors starts from 75th and goes all the way to the top at 90th, being the second tallest structure in Shenzhen, you probably won’t be able to get a bad view from any angle!

I stayed in a room on 88th floor, facing east directly looking at Shun Hing Square, which was once the tallest building in Shenzhen. The soaker tub in the bathroom has floor to ceiling curtain windows, just perfect for a bubble bath at night looking down to cityscape. The room is quite spacious with floor to ceiling curtain windows, serves unobstructed views to all around Shenzhen on different angles.

One of the wonderful services from st Regis is their butler service. You really don’t need to distinguish whether it’s a room service or house keeping request, one button serves you all, and their butlers are quite knowledgeable with most concierge requests and restaurant bookings.

During my stay, my friend and I had the pleasure to dine at their Italian restaurant Elba, I have to say that while it is quite pricey in comparison to the normal restaurants in China, you can just close your eyes and you won’t make a mistake and get something you don’t like! We tried out a couple of different dishes and appetizers and they are all cooked to perfection!

This hotel is a wonderful choice and once you have stayed here, it will set the bar so high that few hotels in Shenzhen can match up to this experience!
