Islam is the largest religion in Turkey according to the state, with 99.8 % of the population being initially registered by the state as Muslim, for anyone whose parents are not of any other officially recognised religion and the remaining 0.2% are Christians or adherents of other officially recognised religions
By Crescent Rating, Turkey is 3rd rated among most Muslim-friendly countries.
How many mosques are there in Turkey?
Turkey has 82,693 mosques, the most of which are in the country’s largest city, Istanbul, according to Religious Affairs Directorate data. Istanbul has 3,113 mosques, including the historical Sultanahmet Mosque and the Süleymaniye Mosque.
There are over 3,000 mosques in Istanbul of all sizes. Some of them are recent but there are many old ones built during the Ottoman period. For instance, the biggest mosque in the city is Süleymaniye Mosque from 16th century, and the most important one is Sultan Ahmet Mosque (known as Blue Mosque) from 17th century.
The Muslim friendly hotel means a hotel that has Islamic characteristics that can provide basic facilities that are more friendly to Muslim customers such as a Qibla direction indicator, the availability of prayer tools, the presence of halal food / list of nearby restaurants that provide halal food.

Like other tourists, Muslim travelers coming from Islamic countries have particular requirements when they choose the destination for their vacation. Among these requirements, Muslims are concerned about the availability of halal compliant foods (no pork or alcohol in food) and a clean place to pray.

Many international hotels in Turkey do serve halal food that is slaughtered in accordance with the teachings of Islamic Sharia and is free of any substances forbidden by Islam such as pork and alcohol.

Other Islamic countries such as Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Morocco, Oman and Brunei continue to be popular with Muslim tourists. Among non-OIC countries, Singapore, Thailand, the UK, Japan and Taiwan remain the top five respectively, but show improved scores on the index.

Best Day Tours in Turkey for Muslim Travelers

Istanbul is a major city in Turkey that straddles Europe and Asia across the Bosphorus Strait. Its Old City reflects cultural influences of the many empires that once ruled here. In the Sultanahmet district, the open-air, Roman-era Hippodrome was for centuries the site of chariot races, and Egyptian obelisks also remain. The iconic Byzantine Hagia Sophia features a soaring 6th-century dome and rare Christian mosaics.

Angel’s Marmaris serves its guests with modern, comfortable and luxurious rooms in the Burunucu Mevkii of Turgut Village. The hotel is located on the seafront. The majority of the hotel’s rooms are designed with terrace with balcony overlooking the sea. Some of the facilities available at the hotel include 24-hour reception and room service. Private parking is available for the car guests and car hire is available to guests. There are cafes with views and a marina cafe on the beach and drinks service. The hotel has available shopping facilities and your every need is provided.

The restaurant is located in the hotel and serves Turkish cuisine and seafood dishes for guests. There are a lift, a garden, a laundry, a gym, 2 tennis courts, a volleyball court, a playground, a cinema, a spa and a meeting room.

My family booked our stay at this hotel soley for one reason- because of its halal 5 star dry hotel status. Having read the reviews we were not expecting much and maybe this worked to our advantage because we fell in love with this spectacular hotel the minute we set eyes upon it. Its exterior is remarkable- Its pictures fail to capture its classic, timeless design. We expected dated decor, tiny rooms with nice enough sea views. What we got was elegant rooms with impressive views of the sea.

The staff were wonderful- a huge percentage of them spoke basic English- (but bear in mind that most of the guests at this hotel are Turkish-) We were actually their first ever guests from South Africa.

Despite our communication barrier they truly did try to communicate with us. We also felt that there were enough English speaking staff who were able to assist us if the need arose. Most of the staff were friendly and unlike other guests we did not experience rudeness from anyone.

The food is Turkish but really not bad. Like with all food its extremely subjective and most ot the time we did enjoy it though after few days you do notice that it gets a little repetitive.

We loved that the patisserie was open until late however dessert is recycled so what you get for dessert at the restaurant at dinner is exactly the same as what the patisserie would serve later.

This hotel has a great location with a clear and great sea and beautiful beaches for men and women. Staff is very friendly and professional. Food is great rooms are clean and spacious. At the moment this is the best halal hotel in my opinion.

The WiFi is great in the hotel itself. If you get a private villa with own pools then WiFi is non existent.

The food is delicious with a variety every day. They always do a BBQ and the best thing about the hotel – no alcohol permitted. Food is all halal of course.

The hotel is designed for special holidays and also for honeymooners. You’ll see a lot of Arabs and Turks here. We were the only British/Bangladeshi family so they were fascinated where we come from originally.

In sha Allah we will be back soon! Thank you once again everyone for making our family holiday so special.

The hotel is fabulous and in an enormous and private area of land. We stayed in the swim up lake rooms which were fantastic.

The pool is amazing, huge and well designed, the water park is great too. Great facilities for the kids, mine are 8 and 5 and loved the pools, kids club and entertainment.

I’d say the entertainment is good, some shows a bit hit & miss but a good standard compared to everywhere else I’ve been.

Food is good but you have to bear in mind its a muslim country that don’t serve pork so no bacon and sausage for breakfast.

If I was being critical I’d say there is no bar near the theatre so you’re watching the entertainment with no drinks. There’s also no bar on the beach.

Scuba diving is great, if you get the chance I’d recommend that, really cheap too. Nice private beach. We went into Altinkum twice for shopping and a meal, just to vary the food. Its a 5 minute taxi ride that only costs £4.50.

We loved our holiday and would certainly go back. If you stay at Aquasis you’ll have a great holiday.

The pool area itself is huge with plenty of sunbeds/parasols for everyone no matter what time of day you venture there and is kept clean throughout the day.

The slides are awesome and great for children and adults alike. Music is played by the pool but is not loud unless you sit next to one of the two speakers.

The beach and water is clean also with plenty of sunbeds/parasols or you can sunbathe on the jetty and dive of it into the sea.

Watersports are available from the beach and are the same price as the ones at Altinkum’ main beach. It’s also great for scuba diving or snorkelling as there are plenty of fish to see.

The hotel is exactly how it was described and we can see they are gaining popularity especially when the place is super full during dinner.

The All- Inclusive halal option is so practical and good that you didn’t have to spend any more during the holidays. The pool is super clean and the slides rides are amazing for the kids !

Beach:
Having been to the Hilton in Maldives and Movenpick in Sousse (Tunisia) I did not have my hopes high for the beach at the Hilton in Dalaman. In fact, having read the reviews and seen the pictures I wasn’t too keen to even visit the beach.

Now, I can assure you that whilst this beach may be gritty and pebbly at the shore line, it is absolutely fantastic.

The water is clean (whilst deepens within a few steps) and whilst the sand is different to your typical white sand – it is indeed very nice. Furthermore, the beach is massive and quiet. I actually liked the sand here.

Hotel:
It’s huge and it’s pretty. Be prepared for lots of walking. The rooms are big & clean. We took a river-view room which was pretty and quiet. The room comes with a weighing scale and this is not a good thing when I tell you about the food.

Food/Restaurant

I checked that all meat is Halal and pork is served in isolation in the mornings only.

All in all, the Hilton Dalaman is fantastic. Definitely coming back!

Multiple chic restaurants offer rooftop and poolside dining. There’s a pool bar, and an elegant bar over a lagoon, along with a disco and live entertainment. Other amenities include a spa, as well as indoor and outdoor pools, and a water park.

he first thing that struck us was the lagoon in the middle of the resort. Its a lovely addition as it spaces out the place, and adds an air of calm. You can feed the fish and the ducks too from the waterside seating if you want to relax in the sun and an iced coffee in the morning.

The breakfast buffet was very good indeed with an omelette station, fresh fruits, cheeses, salads, waffles, pastries cereal etc. Good to see some local foods offered too like Menemen.

Don’t expect sausages and bacon though, remember its a Muslim country primarily! Can’t fault the food at all.

Dinner was similarly good with the addition of a meat grill area serving up different cuts and fish each night. Again a great choice with some basics and a healthy area for those watching their intake.

The rooms are light and airy, we had a standard room looking out over the vacant plot next door.

There’s more than enough space in there, the bathroom is nicely fitted out and the aircon + fan kept us nice and cool. Like all hotels these days when you’re not in the room everything switches off so remember to close the curtains to keep the heat down!

The service set this apart from many places I’ve stayed. All the staff were friendly and helpful and really wanted to make your stay the best it could be.

Location wise it’s a little remote as its up the far end of Calis beach. However, there’s a bus stop right outside, Chalis town is only a 15 minute stroll away where you can get the water taxi to Fethiye Marina.

Beds were firm and comfortable, the bathroom was beautiful – walk in shower and all new fixtures and fittings – loved it. The swim up pools are lovely – sure, you’re not going to swim the channel in them but for a splash and a play, they were great. We didn’t use the main pool at all – simply didn’t need to.

Loved the nice shower gels in the bathroom and sparkling / still water in the mini bar, both of these were replenished free of charge every day.

The food was fantastic. Immaculately presented, and an absolute ton of choice at every meal. Staff very attentive at making sure items were refilled and made presentable all the time, it really was delicious with different themes on each night (fish / Turkish / international etc).

The evening meal had a bbq station which served a different sort of grilled meat or fish every night. I loved all the fresh salad particularly.

Being a muslim country, there was no pork products served, so if your breakfast isn’t complete without a few rashers of bacon, they you might be disappointed – but try the beef sausage instead, it was nice!

5. Regnum Carya 5* – Halal Hotels Turkey

The spacious units of Regnum Carya have a private balcony or terrace, many of which overlook the Mediterranean Sea. They all have LCD TV with satellite channels. Some suites offer a spa bath.

Ultra All Inclusive Regnum Carya Golf & SPA Resort provides 7 different restaurants where you can savour variety of dishes. You will find à la carte restaurants, a snack bar and a patisserie.

An 11-minute walk from Carya Golf Club, this luxe all-inclusive resort is 10 km from Troy Aqua water park.

Featuring furnished balconies, the contemporary rooms come with free Wi-Fi, flat-screens and minibars; many add sea views. Suites offer whirlpool tubs, living rooms and private butler service. Room service is available.

There’s a gym, a posh spa, and indoor and outdoor pools, plus tennis courts, a football school, and a private beach with a pier. Access to 2 golf courses is offered.

Our ‘basic’ room consisted of 2 double beds made into one super-double bed, so no fights with your other half about stealing the duvet.

There is a ‘pillow menu’ and we can recommend the ‘butterfly pillow’ for a successful night’s sleep.

Each morning breakfast is served in the main hotel restaurant. As this is a Muslim country there are no pork items but they make good use of chicken and veal as alternatives.

There is bread, pastry, cheese, fish, omelettes, eggs, salad, fruit salad, more champagne…. and chips, pizza and donuts (well you are on holiday!!!)… and Turkish food too.

This description does not begin to describe the variety of what is on offer, there really is something for everyone (apart from marmite lovers).

Lunch can be had at the main restaurant, Sandal fish restaurant, food court, Gusto snack bar and within the kids’ area.

Dinner can be had at the main restaurant, Turkish, Italian and fish restaurants as part of the all inclusive. We can recommend all of these. If you want to pay €20-25 per person extra, you can also dine at the Brazilian or Thai restaurants.

Should you wish to skip proper food, just head straight to the Patisserie Macaron and gorge yourself on ice cream, baklava, pudding and chocolate.

If you are thinking of booking the Regnum Carya, don’t hesitate, you will have a great time here.

The rooms are very spacious, I don’t think I’ve ever seen a walk in wardrobe so big! The bathroom is huge too and very luxurious! Very well stocked mini bar! Overall, very nice rooms.

This is a fantastic hotel, which is first class luxury.

The grounds and gardens are huge and are always beautifully well kept and tidy.

There are so many swimming pools, and if you have children. The aqua park and lazy river are fantastic.

Also lots for children to do around the resort, climbing wall, zip wire etc. Brilliant for children and adults.
There are lots of activities to do day and night and all the staff are very welcoming.

The food and drinks are simply the best and I cannot fault anything.

We will certainly be returning again in the future.

Thank You for a great time!
