I stayed one night here while I was in town to visit the Christmas Market. The hotel was decorated so beautifully for the holidays. My room had a fantastic view of the Chicago River. The staff was friendly and helpful with restaurant ideas and such.

I’m a fan of Kimpton Properties and really enjoyed my evening at the Monaco in Chicago.

The Riverview King is a typical King room, with one upholstered chair in the corner, and a desk. The bathroom had a nice size granite countertop, but a traditional tub/shower that was not oversized.

The nightly complimentary wine reception was cozy and the staff also brought out some flatbreads that were tasty. A psychic/handwriting analyst casually circled the room and offered her services in a non-imposing way. Interesting touch, but we did not partake.

We walked or took the train everywhere we went, and found the Monaco a perfect location for Michigan Ave/Oak St shopping and checking out the German Christmas Market in Daley Plaza. We also walked to the Art Institute on Thursday evening because it stays open late with free admission (5-8pm).

We took the brown line up to shop in Lincoln Park and rode the red/purple up to Evanston to visit friends. If you are a walker, then all of this is doable from the Monaco without a car!

Hotel Monaco Chicago is a great value in a wonderful location. If I compare it to hotels of equal price and location, it gets five stars, but if I compare it to another Kimpton property that we loved, the Monaco in Portland, OR, I have to dock it a star just for some areas that aren’t quite on Portland’s level. Anyway, we’d stay here again in a heartbeat.

Just steps away from the famed shopping on State Street, this boutique hotel is located inside the Oriental Theatre building in the Chicago Loop Theatre District. The hotel features on-site dining, state-of-the-art business services and modern guest rooms with free WiFi.

Every room at Cambria Hotel Chicago Loop/Theatre District provides a 49-inch flat-screen HDTV and a large work space with a desk and ergonomic chair. Select rooms also offer plush lounge seating.

Intermission Restaurant and Bar features local craft beer, signature cocktails and dishes with fresh, local flavors for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

A 2-minute walk from Lake subway station, this sophisticated hotel is a 10-minute walk from the iconic bean-shaped sculpture in Millennium Park, and a mile from the 110-story Willis Tower.

This hotel was clean and bright. The room we had (a king on the 20th floor) was fine for us, though some might think it small. There was no carpet in the room, which is great for keeping it clean, but it did make the room a little loud.

The Cambria is in the heart of the theatre district, above the Oriental and very close to others. There is a Garrett popcorn shop next door that fills the lobby with the most delicious smells. This place is perfect if you are visiting Chicago for Christmas activiites. It is around the corner from both the Christkindlmarket and Macy’s holiday windows (it is in between the two). Transportation options abound with buses and trains nearby.

There is plenty to do within walking distance though, and you don’t really even need to use public transportation. We got a great price and will stay here again.

In the heart of the Chicago Loop, across from Millennium Park, and home of the Atwood Restaurant, Staypineapple is near Chicago’s top destinations and attractions.

We loved staying at Staypineapple while in Chicago to see Hamilton, it was walking distance from the theater and had a great view of the city! Coffee was great, as was the bar downstairs – there was also a Christmas market right across the street.

The front desk were super friendly and helpful. Our King bed room was super clean. The bed was comfortable and had two individual duvets.

It also had a refrigerator and safe in the room. It is super close to the German Christmas Festival and many other shops in the area. It is a ten minute walk to the Willis Tower.

The rooms were compact but extremely cozy. We had one king room and one queen. The king was definitely a bit larger. Our view was of the city from the 12th floor. Beds were definitely the very best I’ve ever encountered at a hotel. Pillows, perfect. The duvets were outstanding. The room was quiet, no problems with noise at all.

Walking distance to tons of eating, shopping, and great walk to the Christmas market! Bonus!

Staff went out of their way to help in any way they could. Friendly smiles, without being too intrusive.

The hotel room had the cute pineapple décor. There was a Christkindl market that we walked to as well down the street. The bar at the hotel was a tad pricey. Also a lot of shops are located in the vicinity and Magnolia bakery all in walking distance.

This is the only hotel I will stay at in Chicago in the future. Made a short visit to Chicago to see Macy’s Windows, German Christmas Market, Holiday Lights and do some shopping. I stay in a lot of hotels and this one ranks at the very top. Its location is in the middle of downtown and the theater district.

Across the street from Macy’s, short walk to Millennium Park, restaurants, shows and just a short cab ride to Union Station or Navy Pier. The hotel is well appointed, clean and a pleasant and hip atmosphere. The entire staff is fabulous! That said, the front desk is phenomenal!

The hotel was right across from Macy’s for convenient shopping and within walking distance of the Christkindl market.

What a fabulous location! The Christkindl market is right down the street!
