First, the hotel is in a perfect location in Dublin near many of the big attractions (Saint Pat’s Cathedral, Christchurch, Dublin Castle, Grafton Street, etc.). Everything is easily walkable. Maybe it was the holiday week but the hotel was completely quiet at night which gave all of us a good nights’ sleep. The service is very good both at the front desk (e.g., ordering cabs, etc) and at the restaurant and bar. Treat yourself to afternoon tea in the lobby.

Make sure you get a room with breakfast included. It is a nice way to start the day. We enjoyed the bar as well which is lively but not too crowded. The hotel is not cheap but we thought it was well worth the location, service and good nights’ sleep.

The hotel is simply beautiful. A minimal lobby beautifully decorated for christmas and warm, welcoming front of house team set the tone for the rest of the stay. Check in was fast yet personable. It wasn’t your typical robotic check in, more personality and normal chat was involved which just make you feel more comfortable and less awkward.

Breakfast provides lots of options, good level of service. Most importantly there is no waiting around and food that runs out is quickly replenished. The evening restaurant the Sure bar I think its called provided a good variation of food. With excellent service and knowledgeable staff. The Royal is definitely onto something as all to often hotel bars are lacking atmosphere and warmth but this one has something about it.

I’d highly recommend this hotel its high standard of service and forward thinking attitude in a very good location makes it easy to explore a world famous city like Dublin. Irish hospitality is something that cannot be faulted.

Lovely warm welcome and nothing was too much trouble. The room was great ~ good size and everything you could want and more. We had breakfast in the cafe downstairs ~ simple menu but really well done. The location is perfect for all of the key attractions and some good restaurants.

Really well located within easy walking distance of all the key attractions. Priced very fairly for what you get. The rooms our really well sized with everything you could need for your stay. The reception staff were exceptional, so friendly and helpful that it really made our stay so much easier. Would stay again if we return to Dublin.
