Lovely hotel, staff were really lovely and helpful, they all knew my name and greeted me all the time, room and food was really nice too, quite an experience – was there at Christmas previously, the market was right outside, and the castle is a short walk, great places for shopping as well, would recommend.

This hotel was phenomenal. It was literally steps away from the train station. The lobby was beautiful. We were lucky to get a gorgeous upgrade with a view of the Castle. They treated my little boy like a prince. The restaurants were spot on. The people were all kind and understood how to be welcoming and hospitable. The doormen had great suggestions for nearby restaurants. It’s was truly perfect. I don’t think I could fault it in any way.

This should be the standard by which all other hotels judge themselves. It made our trip to Edinburgh and I absolutely loved it.

The fact that the Christmas Market was only a few steps away was the icing on the gorgeous Christmas cake. It made me fall in love with Scotland.

I could not complain on any front from bedroom amenities, breakfast, staff service or location (which is just by Waverley Station and the Christmas market which is also very good is also next door).

The hotel itself was beautiful, and in an ideal location not far from all the sights around town including the Christmas Market. Breakfast was a delicious buffet.

I really enjoyed trying goat and sheep’s milk yogurts. The honey was presented still in the comb. What a treat to see!

The Christmas markets were next door to the hotel and real ice skating a short walk away.

It is across the road from the Waverley train station which was ideal for us. In general the location is spot on, everything we wanted to see/visit was within a 20/30 minute walk.

The staff on reception were lovely and very helpful. The hotel is grand yet modern, with quirky decor.

At the time of our visit the Christmas markets were on which were directly opposite the hotel.

The Hotel Indigo on Princes St was the perfect location….we were there at Christmas and the Christmas Market was right across the street.

We loved having Afternoon Tea overlooking Princes St and the Christmas Market. Our room was big for European standards and well decorated.

The bathroom was very nice, but the shower was part of the bathroom floor only separated by a small piece of glass so the floor in the bathroom was wet. That was the only thing we didn’t like. The staff was friendly…we will stay there again.

The hotel is very centrally located and has great views over the Christmas markets.

The rooms were a good size & being at the back of the hotel, it was quiet and peaceful.

The room was a fab size and the views were perfect however we did feel the room could do with a little TLC, only with regards to things like ripped wallpaper and scuffs on the walls etc.

This hotel is in the perfect location if travelling by train and also If you are going to the Christmas markets you could not be any closer ! Overall a good stay and we would go back.

The room was very clean, super modern and the bed was unbelievably comfy! Our room looked out over to Waverley, so we could see all of the Christmas Market from the window.🎄

Good location to Princes Street, main shops and during the winter the Christmas Market is just across the street. It was raining when I arrived and complementary umbrellas were provided, which was a nice touch.
The room, whilst small, was all you needed for a short stay. Limited hanging space, but ok for a short break. TV, tea and coffee facilities provided.

The bathroom had a nice shower. Towels nice an clean. The room was very hot, and it was difficult to turn the heating down, and the window did not provide any relief.

My room was on the 4th floor and quiet. The reception area had comfy seating and wifi facilities which was good.

Breakfast was continental buffet style help yourself, with plenty of option, and nice food. Juice / tea and coffee available.

Ideal right across the road from the train station and the beautiful lights of the Christmas markets. Very friendly staff, lovely bar with nice wines and all in all a perfect place to stay.

Just minutes walk from the Christmas markets, train station and Royal Mile. The bar is open 24hrs and seemed appropriately priced. Would really recommend this great hotel.

ravelled to Edinburgh for pre Christmas weekend treat. We were 3 couples looking for a central location to do a spot of shopping, enjoy the Christmas market and visit a few bars and restaurants. What an amazing spot this hotel proved to be.

Location right on Princes Street near the Christmas Market,  rooms really comfy (great beds and showers), and the staff were so friendly and welcoming. Can’t recommend this hotel highly enough.

Great location, very clean hotel and friendly helpful staff. Ideal hotel especially for visiting the Christmas Market which is across the road. I would certainly stay in this hotel again when next visiting Edinburgh.
