Came back to Bruges for the Christmas markets and had to stay here after our first experience.
Pleased to be able to say that the standards have not slipped and everything was perfect again. Would highly recommend stay here if visiting Bruges. Also it’s a perfect central location for all main attractions of Bruges.
We opted for a canal view room in the new part of the hotel and had a lovely view from our window..I would definitely recommend doing this.
The breakfast had a good selection of hot and cold food, fruits, pastries, various breads and rolls with great tea and coffees
The reception staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay
The location is excellent for the markets, Square and shops with its side roads, chocolate shops and beer shops!!
When staying in Bruges, this is the hotel to book – I will every time I visit.
My two kids (17 and 20) and I went to Bruges to experience a European Christmas market in what seems like the most Christmassy town on the planet. I decided to splurge on a hotel for the two nights we were here.
he two nights we were here. I found the Casselburgh on Tripadvisor and took one of their larger rooms. It has a a main floor with a large bed and beautiful bathroom as well as a loft with two single beds. The ceiling is all exposed beams and looks like the original hand hewn wood work. The rooms are well renovated and the floors and furnishings are clean and well appointed. The rooms have obviously been built, as well as possible, around the original structure as the beams in the loft go straight through the center of the loft!
My kids said they wished they had this place when they were 5 or 6 as they would have found lots of cool places to play in the loft around the beams.
We went for the Christmas market – there are two. One not so good near the ice skating and the other much better further on. The hot chocolate is not to be missed and we love the cuberdons on sale in the sweatshops.
The lace is just breathtaking and the antique lace (not so white as modern lace which is made of cotton thread whereas the old lace is made with linen thread) while expensive is just amazing.
