Christmas Markets were still on there and they were very bright and colourful.
Check in was very fast. Rooms of a very high standard. They offer an overnight leather shoe shine where they will have your shoes returned to you by 6am – great service.
The breakfast selection is one of the best that I have ever seen (and i’ve seen a few). They had most things imaginable and even caviar. The bar area was very relaxing and the dining room served high quality food.
The staff were all very professional, very friendly, and helpful. The hotel is beautifully clean and well kept. The spar was a welcome addition, giving us a chance to unwind and relax after sightseeing.
The location is perfect for tourism, but especially good for its vicinity to Red Square. Moscow is a beautiful city to visit during the Christmas season and the street fairs and lighting displays were overwhelming. I could not recommend this hotel and location highly enough.
The best hotel I have stayed in Moscow. Excellent location. View from the room…. Kremlin and red square and GUM store lit up with Christmas lights, priceless.
Great breakfast and a service that many hotels need to learn from.

Very modern, well designed hotel. It is in the quite area, just cross the Moscow river to Red Square. I really like the old building, very beautiful redesigned of my room. Very closed and I walked to Kremlin, St. Basil Church… Nice area around the corner for foods, drinks.
Very nice customer service. Very comfortable.
The hotel was clean and very close to Red Square and the Kremlin – opposite it in fact.
The room had a fridge and microwave which was so useful as we went to the local supermarket, about 7 minutes up the road, and bought food.
The staff could all speak English which to us was a bonus.
The breakfast is in a cafe underneath the hotel rooms, we used the cafe a few times as was open until 11pm.

We loved breakfast at the hotel. The staff were absolutely amazingly helpful and friendly. The room was extremely clean and had everything we needed. I would rate this hotel as a 5 star hotel.
The location is definitely the biggest advantage, very close to the Red Square and tucked away so no real traffic or pedestrian noise to contend with! The rooms are a nice size and bathrooms in particular are very sleek and modern.
The public spaces are relevant to the size of the hotel and I found the staff to be warm and welcoming. I would definitely recommend Akvarel for a stay in Moscow.

The hotel is not on a road which taxis can access, but a mere 40 second walk with luggage will take you to the hotel from the drop off point. Check-in was reasonably efficient and the staff were indeed very friendly throughout my stay. Please pass on my compliments.
Breakfast was excellent for a small hotel with good, albeit quite slow, service.
My room was furnished in a very modern style, and there was enough storage space for the contents of my suitcase (I was staying in my room alone).
The room was clean and a high level of hygiene was evident. I very much enjoyed my stay here and would certainly consider staying here again when in Moscow.
