Cusco, a city in the Peruvian Andes, was once capital of the Inca Empire, and is now known for its archaeological remains and Spanish colonial architecture. Plaza de Armas is the central square in the old city, with arcades, carved wooden balconies and Incan wall ruins. The baroque Santo Domingo Convent was built on top of the Incan Temple of the Sun (Qoricancha), and has archaeological remains of Inca stonework.

First Relais & Châteaux property in Peru, an exquisite 16th century colonial manor, located just steps away from the picturesque main square. Once occupied by the conquistadors of Peru, it is now an exclusive boutique hotel that has been carefully restored to retain its historical heritage and décor.
With suites set around a Spanish courtyard, the manor offers sober elegance without sacrificing authenticity.
Like most Relais & Chateaux, Inkaterra aspires to a world class luxury experience, and it delivers in every way.
The hotel is small, having once been home to Simon Bolivar, and is on an elegant square near the main square but away from the crowds. The décor combines colonial antiques with indigenous furnishings, resulting in a luxurious but also comfortable living room and dining area.
The rooms surround a central courtyard, which is beautifully tended and can be used for outdoor dining. Our room did not have a view, but it was beautifully decorated with a new modern bathroom with tub and shower, which was as large as some hotel rooms.
I would recommend this hotel as an ideal choice, and found nothing but kindness and professionalism in a romantic and historic setting.

Room service is amazing. They bring everything to your room and even light a fire in your room. There is a honesty bar down stairs with fab selection of wines

Breakfast is small buffet with full menu of hot food.

The location of the hotel is excellent, it is located on a small quite square and is 5 mins walk to the main square in Cusco. There are quite a few of the top restaurants in Cusco just a 5-10 min walk

This is an expensive hotel but definitely worth the treat

Note there is no gym or spa/ pool, if there was it would probably be best hotel in world.

We stayed here on Christmas, so a christmas market was available to us. Right in the center of the plaza, all the Andean  women were selling their beautiful handmade objects for very reasonable prices.

We walked right out  of  Casa Andina and the market was right there.

We bought lots of traditional objects for our friends and family. The Casa Andina staff made sure our Christmas stay was magical.
