The staff was absolutely friendly and superbly nice. The room was large and perfect for two people living out of their suitcases. The interior of the rooms was a clear 10.0.
Everything was super clean (which might also be due to the age of the hotel?). The beds were extremely comfortable.
A good-sized room with comfortable bed, pillows and bed linen. Clean and modern bathroom with hairdryer.
Lovely restaurants for breakfast, lunch and dinner nearby. The room rate another highlight. I definitely would stay here again.
Seriously don’t bother looking at other hotels and just book this one! Whilst you may see the price and think no way a hotel could be this good for almost €50 a night but they exceed expectations.

My family chose this spot due to its proximity to several Christmas markets in he area, and we were not disappointed.
While visiting Dresden for the annual Christmas Market we stayed here. It is a top rate hotel, very professionally run from the front desk throughout the entire staff.
The room was very spacious and staff kept it spotless. Room amenities included a Krio coffee maker and glass front mini bar. Room service and the restaurant were equally outstanding with all meals delicious and quickly served.
Our room overlooked the Christmas Market and the lights were delightful. This location also brings all the Dresden tourist attractions within a 10 minute walk.
The location is perfect if you plan to sightsee in the Old Town, as we did. Everything is within easy walking distance. We were especially excited that our room overlooked Altmarkt square, and when we were there, a cute little harvest fair was going on.
It was so much fun to look down on the booths, and watch the little Ferris wheel turning right outside our window.
I understand that this is also where the Christmas market is held each year.
A modern, stylish slightly anonymous feeling hotel. Room a little on the small side, but everything-towels, bed, coffee maker etc.-good quality and very clean.
Bar and restaurant lacked atmosphere.
Excellent breakfast. Everything very good quality.
Plenty of choice. All you would expect from a good breakfast buffet + smoothies, fresh honeycomb and champagne.
Very enjoyable.
As many have commented, the location is excellent, within easy walking distance of all the sights, shops and Christmas markets.
We recently visited Dresden and enjoyed our stay at the NH Collection property at Altmarkt square. We stayed in a room facing the square which is perfect at this time of year as you oversee the famous Christmas market taking place down below your room.
Our reservation was made a few months in advance on booking.com. Our room was ready upon arrival and we were allowed to check in quite early in the day.
Check-in staff were polite and friendly, lobby area is modern, cleanly decorated – similar to other NH Collection properties.
Our room was modern, well furnished and decorated. Bed was comfortable, affording us very good sleep. Plenty of luggage space, outstanding views of the square and Striezelmarkt (Christmas Market).
Room came with coffee & tea facility, stocked fridge, TV with a few English channels and wifi worked fine during our stay. Bathroom space was fine and all fixtures worked perfectly. Everything appeared to be relatively new and in fine working order.
Room price as a bit high but given the excellent location and views, this comes as no surprise. Most major sightseeing around Dresden can be done by foot from the hotel, plenty of restaurants, coffee shops and bars in all directions from the NH Collection.
Overall, we very much enjoyed our stay at the NH Collection in Dresden. We might consider other properties if visiting Dresden again but would also be interested in returning to this property for another stay – especially if visiting during December.

The hotel itself was lovely. It was beautifully decorated with spacious rooms, a large bathtub perfect for baths and a super cozy bed. The hotel had a spa, but it was a little odd that you had to dress in your robe before you were allowed to go up to the spa- which meant that you had to walk through the hotel in your robe. The location was great.
The main Christmas Market (and one of the most beautiful) was just a short walk down the street. The Semper Opera House, Zwinger Palace, and Royal Palace were right across the street.
The staff was exceptionally welcoming and helpful. Our two rooms were spacious, clean, and beautifully appointed. I loved the interesting historical significance of the hotel and it’s central location. Dresden was the first stop on our 7-day-long exploration of several Christmas Markets in Germany. Easy access to the markets, historical sights, and public transportation was of the essence.
The breakfast buffet was outstanding and allowed us to be well-prepared to discover all of the city’s treasures on foot. We would definitely stay at the Taschenbergpalais again.
This is a beautiful hotel in a perfect location for exploring the various Christmas markets, but also for any time of year for shopping and sight seeing. We were upgraded to a suite upon arrival, and also were able to check in early which we had not expected. The suite was spacious, and comfortable bed and pillows. The breakfast buffet is substantial.
There is a skating rink that looks like fun, and fitness centre and pool. The Karl May bar has a fabulous selection of cocktails, pricey, but excellent and with great atmosphere. The staff are gracious and helpful. Highly recommended.
This is an absolutely fabulous hotel with a superb location. Wonderful bed, towel, toiletries. Room had a great view. Easy access to sights of Dresden & public transportation. One Christmas market right outside hotel, with another just around to corner & a couple more in easy walking distance.
