All rooms in this hotel have a desk, a flat-screen TV, air conditioning and a private bathroom with free toiletries. Some rooms also offer a seating area.

On a tree-lined street in the city center, this casual hotel is 2 km from artwork at Museum Folkwang and 4 km from the Grugahalle event center. A U-Bahn station is 8 minutes’ walk away.

The airy rooms feature flat-screen TVs and free Wi-Fi. Upgraded rooms have sitting areas and minibars. Suites add balconies. Room service is available.

Amenities include a gym, 2 meeting rooms and a relaxed cafe/bar. Breakfast and parking are provided for a surcharge.

It’s location is directly in the city center and you can reach everything by foot very easily.

The rooms are spacious and the bed is very comfortable. We had complementary smarties, Christmas cookies and a bottle of water on the room.

Two TV’s ( one faces the bed, one faces the other side of the room and the desk.

The room was very well isolated, no sound from outside or from other rooms was hearable. The room was very clean and the rain shower was very comfortable. The hotel is located in the center, but easy to reach. It is very well located if you want to visit the Christmas market!

The hotel is new, and ideally sited for Essen city centre, christmas Markets etc. Checking in was easy and the member of staff on the desk was very friendly and efficient.

Parking under the hotel is limited, but you can stop outside to unload, and there is a large multi-storey car park directly opposite. Breakfast was good. The fitness room is small but good for a workout.

Prices start 79$/night for Standard Double or Twin Room. The Superior Double Room XL is 114$/room per night with breakfast included – if coming on a honeymoon this is the perfect choice for couples.

This room features a flat-screen TV, minibar, coffee and tea facilities. It comes with a separate lounge area including a couch and armchairs.

The bathroom comes with a shower, free toiletries as well as complimentary bathrobe and slippers and air conditioning. It offers extra space.

This new hotel lies in the pedestrian area in the heart of Essen, 500 m from Essen Main Station and Essen Cathedral. Motel One Essen features a 24-hour lounge and free Wi-Fi.

A buffet breakfast is served daily in the One Lounge, where guests can enjoy snacks, drinks and lounge music all day long.

An 8-minute walk from the train station, this straightforward, contemporary hotel is 5 km from Botanischer Garten Grugapark and 6 km from the Zollverein Coal Mine Industrial Complex.

Modern rooms feature complimentary Wi-Fi, as well as mobile desks and flat-screen TVs.

A breakfast buffet is available for an additional cost. Cocktails are offered in a relaxed bar and lounge.

Great location, an easy walk from the station, overlooking the stunning Christmas Market and near to the many shops!

Very comfortable, clean room, quiet with an excellent choice at breakfast. Bar reasonably priced and a great place to meet.

Lying centrally to the most spectacular and atmospheric Christmas Market – simply wonderful – all lifted by the very friendly, happy and welcoming staff and the reason we return year after year.

This Motel is situated in the City-center of Essen. Parking beneath Kennedyplatz is only 10 Euro a day. Essen is a very nice city to shop and the Christmas–market is right in front of the hotel (on Kennedyplatz). Rooms are not big, but clean, quiet and modern with a nice view over the Christmas–market if situated at the front side.

Beds are good, but watch out for Queen-size beds if you’re tall. Breakfast is good, but it can be very/too crowded for the location (on Sundays at 10:00 e.g.).

You can not beat this location for the Christmas Market. Literally steps away. A comfortable, modern space for a very reasonable price. The room is expectedly small, but not cramped.

A very good shower and nice bedding. Lovely contemporary touches.

3. limehome Essen Kibbelstraße 3* – Hotels Near Essen Christmas Market

Located within less than 1 km of Grillo Theatre and a 13-minute walk of Colosseum Theater in the centre of Essen, limehome Essen Kibbelstraße provides accommodation with free WiFi, seating area and TV.

A stovetop and toaster are also provided, as well as a kettle and a coffee machine.

he apartment is located really in the city center and, just 10 min by walk from Essen Train station. The apartment is big and super clean, equipped with all appliances you need as if you are home (even washing machine included), surprisingly for us to have cloth iron and iron board as we need to iron our suits.

Besides, there is an electronic locks in front of the building and your room, so you don’t have to carry a key at all, just to enter with a digit number (which will be sent to you per SMS or email before arrival). All in all perfect to stay and would love to stay longer as if it is my own apartment!
