The Hotel Mondschein is set in a great location, just across the river from the Old Town and close to the myriad attractions, restaurants and shopping facilities. The hotel has 31 rooms in different room categories, including family rooms and 1 family suite.

All guests can enjoy the complimentary breakfast buffet served each morning or relax in the welcoming bar for after-dinner drinks.

We visited Innsbruck just before Christmas and did the Christmas markets which I would highly recommend to anyone who is thinking about this.

We booked this hotel because if it’s walking distance to the old town, it’s literally just over the river and you’re in the heart of the old town which means you can come and go as often as you like with ease.

We had a twin room because that was all that was available when we booked, the twin room was on the top floor, there was a nice view of the mountains, it was small and looked very much like a ships cabin but it was true to the images on the website.

I’m sure the double rooms are very different but they would cost more. I actually found the beds to be very comfortable although I did overhear some guests saying their beds were uncomfortable but this was not my experience in the twin room.

The breakfast was very nice; there was a small amount of cooked food which was the same each day as well as continental options.

One Area of feedback would be to change the breakfast slightly as it is pretty much the same each day and we did stay for a few days so it got a bit samey-some sausages would be nice one day.

I very much enjoy the Brie and fresh rolls though. The coffee machine outside of the restaurant is also a nice touch because you can get a coffee any time of the day and take it to your room.

Traveled with my fiance and dog during the Christmas Market season of which the hotel is perfectly situated for, being just across the bridge from old town Innsbruck. We were on the top floor so we used climbing the flights of stairs for free exercise, but there is also an elevator. available.

The Christmas markets were right across the street over the bridge and everything was in walking distance. This is a very quaint hotel and I would highly encourage you to pick this place during your Innsbruck stay.

The location was absolutely ideal, ringed as it was by Innsbruck’s iconic mountains, and situated only minutes away from the Altstadt (Old Town), Christmas markets and shopping areas. We were even able to walk easily to the railway station within 20 minutes.

Hotel was amazing within central downtown Innsbruck across from one of the fabulous Christmas markets.

Many restaurants, and shops nearby. Took 5 minute walk to mall one day with a stop to eat and see more shops. Found two grocery stores near….about 15 minute walk but interesting venture. Eateries within grocery stores. A third grocery store at the mall.

No concierge but people at the desk are very informative.
Ate from fabulous breakfast buffet every day and had one dinner there. Enjoyed all of the food.

Great location with Christmas markets practically on your doorstep. A little walk from train station, but definitely doable. Clean room and upgrade at check in was appreciated. 2 x different saunas on offer (one with non-nude option) with lots of options.

Loved that could open windows in room to cool down if needed. Breakfast has great selection and was delicious. Would highly recommend staying here to others.

The hotel is right on the Inn River and overlooks the quaint colorful buildings on the opposite bank with sweeping views of the Nordkette mountains covered in snow! The rooms are very comfy as are the beds and bedding. Nice touch with iron in the room. Bar fridge and tea and coffee making facilities. Also room service.

The hotel was on the doorstep of 2 Christmas markets the one with the big Swarovski christmas tree! The staff are very helpful and the breakfast is good and staff in restaurant very friendly.

The wifi in the rooms and everywhere in the hotel is very good. Even though there is quite a busy road right in front of the hotel the windows are double glazed so in the upper floors you don’t hear the traffic.

The hotel is right around the corner from the Old Town and the Golden Roof Restaurant. We loved the old town with all the Christmas decorations and quaint bakeries etc. The hotel is in the perfect area.

3. Faktorei Hotel 3* – Tyrol Christmas Markets Hotels

Factorei is a great find, the location is perfect on the river with fab views of the surrounding mountains and a 5 minute walk to the old town.Our room (9) was beautiful with traditional features but modern and very clean. The hotel has a small bar/bistro downstairs where you check in. You can also grab fab home made cakes, coffee and a beer. Breakfast is made fresh and is delicious! WiFi in the rooms is great as is the Bluetooth speaker.

The staff here are very welcoming and authentically friendly. I would highly recommend this hotel -it’s only been open 8 months but I think this is going to be a firm favourite for many.
