1. Leopold Hotel 4* – Hotels Near Sheffield Christmas Market

The Leopold is a 4-star boutique hotel amid the shops, restaurants and bars of Sheffield city centre. Built in 1800, it has stylish, air-conditioned rooms and a lounge bar serving light meals and afternoon teas.

The Leopold Hotel is only a few minutes’ walk from impressive Sheffield Cathedral. The Lyceum and Crucible Theatres are only a few hundred metres from the hotel.

With a flat-screen TV, safe and mini fridge, free Wi-Fi (256KB), each room also has elegant décor. Some rooms feature bathrobes, slippers and a Nespresso coffee machine. All rooms include a hairdryer.

. The bar has plenty of choice for drinks. I didn’t eat here but they do afternoon tea which looked lovely. The drinks were well priced for an hotel and cheaper than the Christmas market!! The room was massive as it was over two floors, it was on ground floor which surprised me.

Luckily it was on the outside as I don’t think I would have liked to face the square itself. Toiletries were lovely, comfy big bed, decent wardrobe space with mini bar, bottled water and a nespresso machine.

The hotel was easy to find from the railway station and a short walk from the lovely Winter Garden, the library and children’s library, shops with ‘made in Sheffield’ authentically local (non-tourist) products including good metalwork, and a Christmas market with hot chestnuts.

It is not far from University and clubbing areas but feels like a haven when you are inside. The staff were extremely welcoming and friendly in an understated, genuine way.

The room was decorated in rich, warm and dark colours and had good lighting, making a grand den on a cold day. There was a good selection on the hospitality tray, including two kinds of biscuit. The bathroom had a deep bath and shower with good water pressure.

2. Spacesavers 4* – Hotels Close to Sheffield Christmas Market

Set in Sheffield, near The Chimney House, Crucible Theatre and Cutlers’ Hall, Spacesavers features free WiFi.

Each unit comes with a fully equipped kitchen with a microwave, a seating area, a flat-screen TV, a washing machine, and a private bathroom with shower and a hairdryer. A fridge, an oven and stovetop are also featured, as well as a kettle.

Everything was great. Location is very good for Christmas market, convenient store, shopping zone and travel with supertram. Very good apartment especially location.

 Clean and had everything we needed. The added extras like toiletries, tea and coffee were handy.

Good location. 5 min walk to shops, bars and restaurants.

Instructions to find and access apartment were easy to follow.

Lovely clean apartment in the centre of Sheffield. Shops a minute walk away, would book again!

Attractive studio apartment with bed, sofa, table and chairs (I like to eat at a table, so this was good!).

Modern kitchen units, cooker, hob etc. kitchen equipment basic, but enough for a short stay. Overall, very pleased with the apartment which I thought was good value for money.
