1. Sofitel Strasbourg Grande Ile 5* – Hotels Near Strasbourg Christmas Market

Situated on Grande Ile, the historic centre of Strasbourg, this luxurious Sofitel offers guestrooms with Sofitel MyBeds, flat-screen TVs and unlimited Wi-Fi internet access.

An 8-minute walk from the Gothic Strasbourg Cathedral, this high-end hotel is also an 11-minute walk from the 18th-century Palais Rohan and 14 minutes’ walk from Strasbourg Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art.

It’s also very close and an easy walk to the old city centre.

We were there for the Christmas Markets and although there was no snow, the whole place was still magical, particularly at night time.

Having stayed in boutique hotels for the rest of our trip, our one night at the Sofitel took us back to a familiar “big hotel” feel – which isn’t a bad thing. The room was well-appointed, if not a bit snug.

Our reason for booking was its closeness to all of the Christmas markets, and that didn’t disappoint. An easy walk to all the markets, but note, during Christmas Market season you won’t be able to drive into the old town (which is where the Sofitel is) because there are closed streets.

There’s also a security checkpoint to get onto the Grand Ile, so prepare to have your bags inspected. It was clean, modern and did the job for one night.

The hotel is lovely with beautiful amenities and an excellent restaurant and location.

The bed and pillows were extremely comfortable and we enjoyed the turn down service at night.
The hotel is close to the Christmas markets and the action in this delightful city.

2. Hotel D – Strasbourg 4* – Hotels Near Strasbourg Christmas Market

Offering a fitness centre and a sauna, Hotel D – Strasbourg is located in Strasbourg, a 13-minute walk from the cathedral and 500 m from the Christmas Market. Free Wi-Fi access is available.

The air-conditioned rooms and suites have a flat-screen TV with satellite channels, an iPod dock and a telephone. Featuring a bathtub or a shower, the private bathroom also comes with free toiletries and a hairdryer.

In a traditional townhouse on a residential street, this fashionable hotel is a 6-minute walk from Palais du Rhin and 12 minutes’ walk from Cathédrale Notre-Dame de Strasbourg.

High-end rooms come with minibars, Nespresso machines, iPod docks and desks, as well as free Wi-Fi and flat-screen TVs. Upgraded quarters add sofas.

Amenities include an exercise room, a sauna and a business center. A breakfast buffet and massages are available for a fee.

Had a fantastic stay at this property the first part of December. Easy walk from the train station (less 3/4 mile), and early check in was allowed.

I was given a room across from the elevator and worried it may be noisy, but little disturbance occurred – surprising as I am an incredibly light sleeper.

The bed and couch were comfortable and extra blankets were provided, and I had a lovely view of the courthouse buildings next door.

Quick walk across the bridge into the old town and Christmas markets; everything you may want to see was incredibly close and easy to access.

This city is gorgeous and the people are very welcoming and lovely.

Front desk staff was very kind, all spoke English (helpful for those of us who aren’t bilingual), free luggage hold was offered, and treats and mulled wine were available each afternoon.

This hotel is in a great location. We visited Strasbourg for the Christmas markets and were not disappointed!

This hotel is a short walk from the markets and cathedral.

Rooms were clean, well presented with a great use of space, and quiet despite a busy hotel. Staff were great at providing recommendations and gave us a free map of the city with all the markets labelled.

I would say two nights in Strasbourg is plenty, it’s a beautiful city and everything is quite close together. Thank you for a fantastic stay.

The Hannong Hotel is located in the heart of Strasbourg, just a 5-minute walk from the TGV train station, Petite France district and the Cathedral. It offers free Wi-Fi access.

Guest rooms at the Hannong are air conditioned and soundproofed. They are equipped with hardwood floors, European designed furniture, satellite TV and each have a private bathroom with a bath or shower.

A breakfast buffet is served every morning in the Hannong’s breakfast room. It includes hot drinks, handmade bread and French pastries, local products, jams and juices. Guests can enjoy a drink at the wine bar in the glass ceiling salon or on the large terrace.

Excellent hotel, friendly service, excellent food and fantastic location. Would highly recommend this hotel, is in the heart of the city, perfect for shops and exploring the city.

Close to Christmas markets and great shopping in Galerie Lafayette.

Hotel Hannong is in the center of the old city and ideally located within easy walking distance of numerous sites, including the cathedral, and a short distance from the rail station.

Excellent access to the Christmas markets. Nice accommodations and service and more affordable than many.

The hotel was good, with a great location, friendly and helpful staff, and good cleanliness. It has an extra benefit of being right in the middle of things, easily within walking distance to all of the Strasbourg sites and Christmas markets. Strasbourg calls itself the capital of Christmas, and they may be right, it is worth the visit, and I’d recommend this hotel for that visit.

This hotel is perfectly located for exploring Strasbourg and the Christmas markets. The hotel itself is very well presented, clean and spacious and a well recognised bar. Staff were also very helpful.
