This hotel was simply stunning. The room (superior room with courtyard view) was lovely and very comfortable. There was plenty of room for 2 adults and lots of luggage, and its old town location was perfect (especially to get to the Christmas Markets.
The staff were wonderful and gave great advice when asked. The dining room for breakfast was extra special. It was well worth the price.
Very historic building in the heart of old town (about 200 meters from the central square) and yet our room was huge and very luxurious. The breakfast buffet was excellent. The spa pool and hot tub were awesome, especially after watching the snowfall on the Christmas market.
It’s not merely near Old Town Tallinn, but in the center of it (steps from the Christmas market which was open during my stay). It is a beautiful, small-ish hotel, renovated not long ago. It was affordable. And special to me, I work in the field of telecommunications so I really enjoyed staying in an old telegraph building, the prints of old telephones on the walls and the old style telephone in the room.
The street in which the hotel stands (Vere) is ideally placed for the square in which the Christmas market is situated (no more than a 2 minute walk) and is set right in the heart of the beautiful old city, surrounded by architecturally stunning buildings.
An abundance of good restaurants and all manner of tourist attractions are also very close by (we recommend he Seaplane Harbour Museum – 5 minutes by taxi – the Farm restaurant, as well as a lovely Italian restaurant just down Catherine’s Passageway (almost opposite the hotel) and a restaurant which translated from Estonian means “Grandma’s Place” and is not far from the Old Square. In this last restaurant is served traditional Estonian food and I had elk stew, which was absolutely fantastic !).
Stayed here with my husband for our pre-December break to visit the Christmas market (reputedly the best in Europe).
Firstly, the hotel is extremely pleasant and central (around 100m from the market square). You couldn’t ask for a better location. The bedroom, whilst small, was clean and I’d go so far as to say cozy.
What I will say is the food in Tallinn is fabulous – whatever it is they do to their potatoes they should tell Homepride. The sauce was delicious and every meal we had was excellent.

Hotel CRU is a small mid-range hotel with mid-range prices but with a top-of-the-range restaurant. Superb breakfasts included.
Rooms are not luxurious, which would be difficult to engineer given the quirky nature of this old building and impossible in this price range, but have everything you need including modern bathrooms. Our standard double room was spacious.
CRU is a cozy hotel in old town Tallinn…perfectly situation to enjoy the Christmas Market in the town hall square but also to visit the newer.
The room was small but it and the connected bathroom were neat and clean and offered local organic soap and shampoo!

A great location with excellent staff and food. Easy to walk into the centre of the old town and a host of good restaurants and bars nearby.
The Christmas market is just around the corner, but the hotel is located far enough away to not suffer from noise.
The hotel is in a fantastic location within 3 minute walking distance of the main square, which was where the Christmas market was, and within easy walking distance of all of the sites of Tallinn.
This hotel is a little bit (by only a matter of metres) away from the Christmas Market, and so is slightly quieter than another hotel we stayed at over the holiday season. The staff is very friendly and accommodating and the room was clean and very comfortable.
The breakfast was included (which was a surprise to us upon arrival) and was very well done with fresh options, warm and cold. Great hotel.
Located in the Old Town where high end shops are around the area. Walking to the Christmas Market, restaurants and shops. Breakfast selection is very good.
Food in hotel restaurant is good. Walking to the local malls. Will recommend to anybody visiting Tallinn. Very interesting city in the Baltics. Will visit again.
