The coastal village of Canggu is a preferred destination for savvy travelers seeking an alternative to the urban sprawl of neighbouring Seminyak and the perfect base from which to explore the island of Bali at a relaxed pace. Find yourself at Ametis Villa, a luxury lifestyle Villa with a home-style hospitality that will make you feel like you truly belong. Named after a precious jewel “Amethyst”, Ametis Villa is all about creating and enriching guest experiences where each stay results in a collection of precious memories to last an entire lifetime.

Each villa has been designed as a modern sanctuary showcasing tasteful elements of Balinese architecture. Meticulous attention to detail, customized furnishing and signature amenities embody the magic of Ametis. Every guest is assigned a personal butler who excels in the singular ability to anticipate all conceivable needs, and to exceed every expectation. Please note: Children under 12 may not stay at the hotel

Our stay at Ametis was the highlight of our trip. The villa (Onyx) was superb – spacious and clean, the pool was large and well-maintained, the staff were amazing and courteous, especially our butler Bima.

They really think of everything to make your stay feel luxurious and relaxing, there were all the amenities, earplugs in case of any noise, and as part of the luxury benefit offered we a free massage (the therapists were excellent), drop-off and pick-up services during our stay and we had 8 pieces of free laundry each day.

Honestly, the villa looks even better in person than the photos!

They also had Netflix on the outside TV, which was nice (the TV in the bedroom didn’t have netflix), a wireless speaker, free coffee and tea in the room, a fruit bowl.. etc. The resort was also located very close to the beach, and the same street had a lot of shops and restaurants, if you’d like to walk around and explore.

Beautiful, luxurious private villa close to beach, shops bars and restaurants. Breakfast, afternoon tea, evening cocktails and appetizers served in our villa by our lovely butler Bima were delicious although the variety of cocktails offered was limited to 2 choices during our stay. On site restaurant Billy Ho’s was one of the many excellent places to eat in the local area – our favourite was the Japanese – Ji a very short walk away. Complimentary couples spa treatment added to completely relaxing experience.

We found the Canggu area a lot livelier than we were expecting, with lots of nice bars and restaurants within walking distance, which made for a good mix between relaxing at the villa and going out about.

During our stay we went white water rafting, quad biking and went to Waterbom, all of which were organised by are butler Dika, who was absolutely brilliant during our week stay. He also arranged our picnic and dinner on the beach which again were both amazing.

We throughly enjoyed our breakfasts in the comfort of our villa every day and also found our daily spa treatments really <span class=”_3f5ztoLj”>relaxing.

It’s difficult to compare the Ametis Villas to anywhere else we’ve stayed as not only is the accommodation above and beyond, the level of service and attention to detail is exceptional and then you have the added extras like the afternoon teas, sunset cocktails, car snacks, daily laundry.

The villa was superb with a large bedroom and light filled bathroom, separate outdoor living / dining area & pool. Our breakfast was delivered to our villa every morning with a smile. Afternoon cocktails were an absolute treat.
Your stay at this villa comes with many extra perks like a free massage and afternoon tea and cocktails. I was too busy during my stay in Bali to be in my villa during the afternoon tea and cocktail sessions but the breakfast/dinner at Ametis is of a good standard. I loved how they offered 5 different breakfast sets i.e. catering to Asian preferences with a Japanese, Korean, China breakfast menu. The Japanese set that i tried was very good. The desserts for dinner at the villa were lovely i.e. the coffee parfait and the black rice balinese pudding.VILLA
The villa is amazing and flawless in every way. You won’t be able to find anything better with this price in Bali. The bathroom is humungous and the bedding and linen were very comfy. I like the contemporary platform bed design – very stylish. The outdoor living room has an amazing selection of free movies.. (so many that I did not have the time to scroll through all of them). And although you are literally surrounded by beautiful landscaped flora and fauna in your villa, there is not a bug or mosquito to be seen! I only saw one lizard during my three night stay here. Considering that I was in Bali, I was very impressed with the pest control in the villa. The bathroom is also partly outdoor with a beautiful landscaped mini-garden on the brim. The pool is also extremely well managed. No BUGS at all! Just the occasional leaf. I really don’t know how they manage to control bugs and pests with all the landscaped trees, plants and bushes in the villa. This still remains a mystery. The size of the pool is decent for laps and was not a shallow baby pool. It was just deep enough for me to stand comfortably and I’m 5″5.Turquoise is probably one of the best villas, tucked away at the back where it’s quiet. I was very fortunate to be assigned this villa =). Star and moon gazing by the pool is lovely during the night.SPA
The free massage that comes with booking this hotel is excellent. The Spa itself is small but very clean, contemporary and relaxing. The balinese therapists did a better job than top sought after spas in Bangkok that I have visited. You can definitely tell that they have been trained with special massage techniques.BUTLER
The Butler service was extremely attentive and of five-star quality. Unlike other luxury hotels I have stayed at where the Butler goes home at 5pm, the butlers at Ametis leave until they have served all your needs for the day. This adds quite a nice touch. I enjoyed having dinner and breakfast at my villa and letting my Butler know what time I’d like my food to be served. If you hire a car with the hotel, your Butler becomes a driver. Again, a very unique touch. My Butler was an amazing and a extremely skilled driver, who managed to navigate through insanely narrow and difficult pathways. He was even nice enough to personally lend me 1 million IDR because I had run out of cash to pay for some activities around the Canggu area.
All in all absolutely amazing!!

The hotel features two dining options; Cubana Restaurant & Bar in the lobby area serving up international cuisine, and the rooftop dining venue, UpZscale Sky Dining & Bar, which lies by the poolside and overlooks the Indian Ocean.

Walk out your door and everything is at your fingertips. The beach is 200 metres away. Restaurants, cafes and bars are plentiful. Convenience store across the road and several chemists are just up the road. Shops abound. A vast range of massage and spa options in the near vicinity. Sports bar in the foya.

This place is conveniently located near Old Men’s, JI Restaurant, The Lawn etc. and of a comfortable walking distance from nearby cafes so it was easy to travel around for us. However, please be prepared for the noise at night which stretches all the way till early morning. We were able to sleep through the noise so it was ok for us.

This hotel completely impressed us! The location was absolutely perfect for what we wanted out of it. It does get quite loud, as it is directly by beach clubs and bars, but this is something that you can see from looking at the map beforehand. If you’re looking for a hotel which allows you to be in walking distance from these places, then Aston is perfect. We also enjoyed the rooftop bar and pool. On Wednesdays they unlimited wine for a reasonable price for a couple of hours. The staff were great with the service of this. The food from the restaurant and room service was reasonably price and the staff that worked here were great!

A jewel in the uber cool area that is Canggu, the Aston canggu Beach Resort commands its place as one of the best resorts / hotels to stay in at the area. The location is second to none being literally 100m to the famous Bata Bolong Beach, with all the amazing cafes, bars and surf schools. It is also an easy walk to nearby Echo Beach.

The moment you arrive at the Aston with it’s impressive big open foyer, you are greeted by the super friendly resort staff who instantly make you feel welcome.

Adjacent to the front reception is a great Sports Bar (Score Sports Bar) that has an incredibly well stocked selection of drinks with food also available. They are constantly showing all the biggest sporting events on their large screens which attracts fans and also those just wanting a laid back non pretentious bar to have a cold beer and a meal.

The rooms themselves are great. My first impression was the sense of cleanliness, with a fresh limin smell as we entered the room. Everything you need is there with a decent sized bathroom and nice shower, wardrobe space, large mirror, TV, fridge, coffee/tea facilities and a nice little balcony. The WiFi and aircon worked flawlessly. The bed was comfortable and I always judge a hotel on it’s pillows, and I wasn’t disappointed.

The rooftop pool is a huge highlight, with probably the best view in canggu right up and down the coast. The pool has plenty of sunbeds to relax in that beautiful Bali sun.

Next to the pool is the Upzcale Sky Dining and Bar where we had an amazing meal (steak) and was where we had the complimentary breakfast which had a huge variety to choose from.

All in all, the Aston was an awesome place to stay, with its price point, location, cleanliness and facilities you couldn’t ask for more.

Aradhana Villas by Ekosistem

Situated in the quiet and pastoral area of Canggu, Aradhana Villas by Ekosistem offers an amazing tropical getaway with a private outdoor swimming pool, free WiFi access, free return airport transfer, and free use of the property’s bicycle during stay and it’s our recommendation for Lgbt Friendly Hotels Canggu. Aradhana Villas by Ekosistem is located only 200 m from Finns Beach Club and 300 m from Echo Beach Canggu. It takes a 5-minute walk from the property to Berawa Beach and a 15-minute drive to Canggu Club. Getting to Bali Denpasar International Airport will take around 45 minutes by car.

The villa will provide you with a flat-screen cable TV in the living room, air conditioning and a terrace. There is a full a kitchenette with a refrigerator and kitchenware. Featuring a bath, private bathroom also comes with a bath or shower and bathrobes. You can enjoy pool view and garden view from the room.

All villas come with private swimming pool, unique Balinese inspired artistry and most everything you could possibly imagine from a luxury boutique pool villa experience. ARADHANA VILLAS is a member of Ekosistem Hotels and Resorts.

The villas are just gorgeous. Honestly, the pictures cannot capture how lovely they are. Stunning grounds, large private pool and more space than expected. The bedroom and bathroom was opposite the large outdoor living area with the pool in the middle. Staff were excellent and discretely always ensured that the villas was clean etc.

We loved the location which was close to Berawa main area and less than five minutes to the beach. Finns is also close by and we had a great time there. Do check out Avenue A – super friendly, great food and music.

The villas are equipped with a small kitchen and there is a good supermarket close by if you were inclined. I know that they do packages but my advice is to do room only like we did. Breakfast and brunch is a big deal in Canggu and you have many excellent options on your doorstep. The one morning we did have breakfast at the villas, it was cold and the coffee was standard Bali coffee.

The villa was clean, well appointed and maintained, we stayed as part of a Luxury Escape deal so lots of extras thrown in but highly recommend the breakfast and afternoon tea every day. The stocked mini bar was an added bonus and we enjoyed a massage in the room would definitely recommend spa treatments onsite.

We enjoyed dinner every evening as well leaving us free to explore some local gems for lunch (not that we needed any more food we were well fed), used the bicycles a few times and the shuttle into Seminyak and Canguu. Short walk to Berawa Beach which was great for sunset and walks to Canggu area. Staff exceptional, great English and nothing was a problem.

The villas are in Balinese style with a good sized pool in our own private compound. Beautiful gardens surrounded the outdoor lounge, kitchenette and bathroom. The bedroom had a comfortable king size bed and air con. Breakfast each day was from a large menu selection. We had a lunch, BBQ dinner and afternoon refreshments as well. All meals served in your villa and delivered quite quickly and all very delicious.

The villas are near Berawa Beach which was not the nicest in Bali. Close to Finns Beach Club. Didn’t swim much at the beaches as the waves were really rough while we were there. The Villas are a fair distance away from the main tourist areas. More country area but being developed. Lots of rice fields around. Aradhana provided shuttle which we used to get to Seminyak and taxis to get back which didn’t cost too much. Overall really nice place to stay if you want to get out of Kuta, Legian or Seminyak.
