The location was great with easy walk to train station. This will appeal to a younger crowd as it is close to University thus plenty of food, pubs and shops.
The location is awesome, very close to the main subway line in the city. Many restaurants and bars nearby. Plenty of shopping within walking distance. The service was fantastic.
The room was super cool and the toilet was pure ecstasy 🙂 Plenty of tv channels, several in English. If I’m ever back in Seoul, this is the place I’d go back to.
We chose it for the location which was very close to the metro and to a very lively area full of shops cafes and street food . The rooms were very comfortable although there was very little storage area for clothes and because we were there a number of weeks we struggled with the space.. we asked our daughter to bring extra coat hangers. There were no drawers at all to store clothes and yet there was a lot of space in the room.
The staff spoke fairly good English and provided us with extras and help change rooms from one which was really noisy. The hotel does face onto a busy main road on one side so ask for the quiet side. The hotel did do breakfasts but we always ate in small coffee shops locally. The bar was nice but not very busy.. there was a great Korean BBQ restaurant opposite the hotel worth a visit.
Lovely hotel tucked away on a side street. I loved that they had parking available. It is located within walking distance of lots of entertainment and restaurants. We hit the Seoul Escape Room, Trick Eye Museum, a movie theater, coffee shop and several places to eat. The room was cozy, clean and quite. The only downsides were that the bed was a little firm and the shower was difficult to use without getting the entire room wet.
9 Bricks Hotel is located close to the Hongik Station (Line 2, exit 9) and also the airport limousine bus stop. The room that I stayed was cleaned, decent and big enough for 2 persons with 2 large suitcases, yet have sufficient walking space in between.
There are 2 convenient stores just along the road towards the hotel, countless eateries and shops surrounded.
Hongdae is a bustling area with many locals and tourists yet not as noisy as in Myeongdong and Dongdaemun. The latest local hangout area Yeonnam-dong is just a short walk from the subway station (exit 3).
The location was great! It’s very convenient for us to walk around Hongdae area or take subway to anywhere.
Also, there were so many restaurants nearby and we could eat all day long from morning to midnight. The service was good and we couldn’t ask for more.

First of all the location of the hotel is in Hongdae which is a younger university area and i was worried as i am neither young nor too energetic and wasn’t sure about being surrounded by students but there was so much to do in the area and the variety of shops was definitely not limited.
The rooms were so modern and simple yet amazing in details. There were USB charging in every corner of the room and the power outlets for electric plugs were all international standards meaning you can use any plugs you bring. Electric jug and coffee and mugs were readily available as were plenty of bottled water per room. There was no snack or extra drinks but the 24 hour convenient store is located 10 sec from the hotel so really no need for that.
Beds and beddings were very comfortable and though it was mostly open space format meaning there weren’t any close closets, it made the rooms so much more spacious and the fact that we had so many korean beef BBQ meals, the clothes got a chance to air!
Location is hit and miss, it really depends on what you’re looking for: Ryse is in the middle of Hongdae, conveniently close to the Hongik University subway station (perfect if you’re coming from Incheon airport). The area is lively and there’s plenty of bars and restaurants open till late.
On the other side, if you’re planning to do some sightseeing around town, be prepared to spend a good amount of time on trains/taxis, as the main attractions of Seoul are a bit far away.
Side Note Club upstairs serves some good cocktails and there’s a nice view over the city, while Tartine is perfect for your IG feed (and of course for delicious coffee and pastries).
We had breakfast included in our rate, and it was served at the Long Chim restaurant downstairs: great choice of food both from the buffet or from the cooking station.
Thanks to the Hotel Associates for making my first stay at Ryse a very pleasant & enjoyable one. Will return for sure. Nett – Recommend Ryse for travellers – both business and holiday makers

Solid hotel for solid price. If you want to stay in Hongdae area, this is good choice. Couple blocks from main streets in Hongdae. Many food and shopping in walking distance. Cleaning services are very good. Had a great view from my room. Make sure you take international plug.
Overall the Hotel is nice and very close to Hongdae area, the shopping, bar and restaurant are 5 mins walk from the hotel lobby, lots of good restaurant are 3 mins away from the hotel.
The service here is very nice for tourist! The receptionist also can speak english and they helped us booked the Jumbo Taxi, from hotel to the airport
The downside is that we have to pay for swimming pool. But the hotel is worth the price.
Good location, with less than 10 mins walk to the Hongik University Subway Station. The hotel is clean and nice with very good and professional service. Comfort Bed and Shower. My only complaint is not enough lighting in room , but it is ok for me as it is for eco-friendly purpose.
Located in Mapo- Gu Area, it is a great choice for travellers interested in shopping for clothes, accessories and cosmetics.
Lots of good restaurants nearby. Most of the restaurants open till mid night where some of them are in 24H Operation. Superb for shopaholic travellers!
The Amanti is really well located, close to the popular Hongdae neighborhood and lots of restaurants, shopping, coffee shops. The room was very clean, comfortable and modern. A few small things that could use improvement: the TV autoplays the hotel ad everytime you come back to the room, not necessary and a bit annoying to have to turn off. The check-in time seems very inflexible, unlike most hotels I’ve been to. The breakfast buffet is okay, nothing special and not too extensive, but good value and quick. I would stay here again and really enjoyed my experience overall.
