Belgium has frequently been referred to as one of the most gay-friendly countries in the world and no wander can find a few LGBT friendly hotels Knokke-Heist.
Lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender (LGBT) rights in Belgium are seen as some of the most progressive in Europe and in the world. Same-sex sexual activity was legalised in 1795, with an equal age of consent, except from 1965 until 1985. After granting same-sex couples domestic partnership benefits in 2000, Belgium became the second country in the world to legalise same-sex marriage in 2003. Same-sex adoption was fully legalised in 2006 under the same terms and conditions as heterosexual adoption, and lesbian couples can access IVF as well.
Knokke-Heist is a Belgian coastal municipality bordering the Netherlands. It’s known for its beach and the Zwin Nature Park, an area of salt marshes and mudflats that shelters birds like storks and oystercatchers. On the edge of the Zwin is “Hospitality,” a bronze sculpture of a giant hare. The For Freedom Museum illuminates the area’s history during WWII with dioramas, uniforms and original vehicles.

The Hotel is ideally located about 100 meters from the beach and the Blue Buddha Beach Bar. The rooms were very clean with nice linens. The breakfast was included and was perfect. Hot and cold dishes. We also ate supper and it was great. Try the steak with mushroom sauce . The front desk and the restaurant staff were friendly and helped us with directions, cabs and suggestions as to explore the area. Only speaking English was not a problem. Overall-a very good experience.
Very friendly team, sensational breakfast and the desert of our menus was world class! From elder couples to young families, good for all travellers. The hotel is in the ‘second row’, but very close to the beach, we enjoyed aperitives in the beach bar, prior to the menu in the hotel.
Hotel is located 100 metres from the beach where we had a drink in Buddha beach bar which was great!
Staff is friendly and helpful, reception closes at 11PM.(you can still enter the hotel with your key)
One evening we had diner in the hotel’s restaurant (reservation advised) which was very good! (3 course menu for €25,00 p.p.)
Hotel Du Soleil is the best value accommodation in Knokke-Duinbergen-Heist considering its room price and proximity to beach and promenade. The sumptuous and delicious seafood breakfast which receives unanimous compliments in every tripadvisor review certainly surpassed many counterpart hotels.
Hotel service is efficient and international-friendly.
Apartment 310 (2 twin beds & & day bed in the living <span class=”_3f5ztoLj”>room) is spacious and comfortable with ample supply of towels.
Beach side was extremely windy and sandy the first day we arrived. So we were happy to have a calm and quiet stay at Hotel Du Soleil which situated on the inner street.
The Hotel is well situated near the coast and in a quiet street. I had a lovely room with excellent WiFi reception and amenities, including a safe and tea and coffee.
I found the evening meals at the hotel very well prepared and enjoyable.
The breakfast choices are very extensive and the breakfast and restaurant room is very pleasant.
Being near the promenade and beach suited me as I went to the Flemish coast for long walks. The Coast Tram stop is not very far away and neither is the Belgian Railways’ local stop.
There is also a mini-market near the hotel on the promenade which is useful for small purchases.
I liked best the strong WiFi signal and the breakfast choices, nothing negative I can think of.

What a great place to stay. Stylish, beautiful and serene with very good cuisine and very friendly staff.
Close to the beach, near the city centre and the casino in the very mondaine Knokke.
Great place just behind the boulevard and casino. Comfortable rooms and a personal service are making it the ultimate short break hotel.
The breakfast menu is served in new york style and extremely good. Also locale pass by for their coffee which guarantees a vibrant and relaxed atmosphere.
I just loved this place! The food is pure & tasty and you get what you order. Plus, they come in big portions so the prices are correct.
My partner and I shared a labneh as a refreshing and healthy appetizer and this went very well with my glass of wine. Limited selection of good wine and the friendly owner will help you make a good choice.
We also tried the carpaccio, the bruschetta hummus (one of my new favorites) and the signature burger.
Let me start by saying that two main courses are definitely enough but we just came back from 3 weeks of holiday and we could basically order everything. Luckily it all tasted great so we pretty much went for a finish! Hands down for the chef ;-).
They also have a cozy lounge bar where we had our coffee and relaxed a bit before we asked the bill.
Thumbs up to the new owners! We will definitely come back soon to try your breakfast.
Enso is a nice small hotel with super friendly staff. Breakfast is not included, but do not skip it, it’s fantastic! We enjoyed pancakes, smoothie and the classic enso. All perfect! Location in Knokke is good, just a few steps away from the beach.

The guest bedrooms were extremely clean, nicely furnished, with very comfortable beds. All the attendees commented on how nice the hotel was. The bar area was very comfortable and stylish and was a great place to gather as a group after dinner for a drink and a chat.
All in all I would not hesitate to recommend this as a business or indeed leisure venue. I would very much love to return, but perhaps in the summer months as much of the town was closed in October as would be expected for a seasonal seaside resort.
Our room was on the 5th floor (513) – soundproofing was good so we had a good sleep. Bathroom a bit small but good shower, the sink had a large domed tap which came very low into the small sink (good for not splashing) but you couldn’t turn it so anything that you needed water for had to go underneath the spout and my husband broke a glass trying to get water for his tablets.
Also the taps were round domes so when you had soap on your hands you couldn’t turn the taps on or off without using a towel to help turn them. The loo was separate, just to the left of the entrance door with a glass door that opened outwards and blocked the entrance door. Otherwise bed was very comfortable and linen spotless.
We had breakfast in the restaurant as the morning air was a bit chilly to sit outside (although other people did sit outside). There was a good choice of cold cuts of meat, cheese and fruit and a separate station for hot cooked breakfast, usual, eggs, toms, bacon, etc. Waiting staff were quick to clear used plates from the table, so very clean.
New luxurious hotel well located near the casino and not far from the beach with an nice lake behind the hotel.
Rooms are big and comfortable, the bed was amazingly comfortable and the bathroom has everything you need.
Breakfast on the sunny terrasse was awesome.
Great spa, swimming pool and saunas are modern, clean and very elegant. The staff are professional and pleasant.
We had a great time. We will come back next year.
La reserve is a relative new luxurious hotel. Rooms are quite big and comfortable. Bed and linen are absolutely fabulous. Lighting system in the room is a little bit complex. Breakfast on the sunny terrasse was awesome. The rooms have either a view on the casino with a tinny seaview or a nice view on a small lake.
The hotel, even though it is a little bit far from the very center, is just great.
It is all new and we are very close to the standard we can notice in Dubai. The room was huge, with a nice view on the lake. The bed was amazingly comfortable, the bathroom has everything you need.
The breakfast was very good but could have been a little bit more elaborated.
