Cats Chill Out Hostel Madrid – Review
When I travelled to Madrid to attend the Tourism Expo back in 2008, I was looking for a cheap hostel. I wanted to book Cat’s Hostel based on the hostelworld reviews. But it was fully booked so I had to look for another hostel. Close to it was Cats Chill Out Hostel Madrid. The name can be scary or suggest a party hostel. Well, it’s a party hostel, but in the same time it’s a quiet one. Actually Madrid is a party city so the hostels have to be the same!
Location : C/ Cabeza 24, Madrid; the closest metro station is Anton Martin (Line 1, light-blue). It is central located (10 minutes walking from Atocha train station and 5 minutes walking to the nightlife part of Madrid and 5 minutes from the Huertas area where you can find the best restaurants in Madrid). The area is not that safe thought.
Atmosphere & Facilities: What a really liked about Mad hostel? The ‘chorale,’ which represents a typical building in old Madrid. The building features adjoining rooms accessed by interior balconies which overhang a central courtyard or patio. It’s the perfect place to wake up in Madrid.
But there is a downside too; it’s very noisy! You hear everything from the hall and from the other rooms.
There is an Outdoor Terrace and the inside pub is a great place to meet travellers. Pool Table is also available if you are a fan of this sport.Lockers as well are available. Every hostel must have this facility.
Cleanness & Rooms: Rooms are clean; nothing to complain here. They are too damn small. Well, not small but there are too many beds in the room and there is no extra space. Two persons on the aisle won’t fit.
Services and prices : Breakfast is include but the Madrid bars have a high variety of food and with 2-3 euro you can have a nice breakfast and coffee as well.
Recommendation : 7/10.
