The Muslim friendly hotel means a hotel that has Islamic characteristics that can provide basic facilities that are more friendly to Muslim customers such as a Qibla direction indicator, the availability of prayer tools, the presence of halal food / list of nearby restaurants that provide halal food

Halal tourism is a subcategory of tourism which is geared towards Muslim families who abide by rules of Islam.  Many international hotels in Finland do serve halal food that is slaughtered in accordance with the teachings of Islamic Sharia and is free of any substances forbidden by Islam such as pork and alcohol.

The first time in this new hotel just in Helsinki Railway Station.

The location is perfect for the traveller using train connections in Finland or even Helsinki Airport connections. The receptionist was very friendly as well the hotel room and breakfast were very good.

This hotel is situated right in city center, next to the railway station. Beautiful historical features can be seen all over the hotel.

The inner courtyard is wonderful, so we walked through there to our breakfast. Very good bed gave us a peaceful rest and the breakfast was guaranteed Scandic hotels quality. Highly recommend this hotel.

Scandic Grand Central is the newest hotel in Helsinki. It is located at the Helsinki Railway Station and has been renovated into the administrative building of the Finnish Railways, designed by Eliel Saarinen in the late 19th century and built in the early 20th century.

The Scandic Grand Central has 491 rooms. The rooms in the old part are built into office rooms and almost every room is a little different in size and shape. The style of the building could be described as a Late Art Nouveau or “Saarinen Art Nouveau”. in patterning and the gradation of decorations.

I got to see the different rooms during the tour. The rooms, built in the old part, are classic in style and partly very high. The color scheme of the rooms is darker than the current style of the hotel interior and the colors are earthy. Many of the rooms offer new views of Helsinki, my room showed the beautiful roof dome of the National Theater. The building’s thick exterior walls and other insulation solutions completely eliminate noise from the adjacent train station, bus terminal, and nearby construction sites.

I recommend Grand Central Hotel for a staycation, there is so much to see.

Helka is a unique private hotel in the heart of Helsinki, built in an old 1920s building. Our stylish interior is decorated with carefully chosen Finnish design classics such as Alvar Aalto and Artek, to name a few. We have 151 rooms on five floors where design and functionality are well combined.

Helka is close to almost everything Helsinki has to offer: main attractions, city buzz, culture, parks and calming waterside nature. For us, it’s all about you.

The room was great and pretty. Filled with finnish design, from the lobby all the way to the room. We had a very cozy stay, the hotel bar was also comfortable, but it was very hot inside so we enjoyed our drinks on the terrace.

The air conditioning in our room worked PERFECTLY. Which was a big plus considering that the air outside was constantly 25+ degrees celsius.

The original purpose for our stay was to see the new loft rooms. To our surprise, the hotel had been just reopened with an extensive art exhibition which was very interesting.

Ten artists from the Demolition Art Group have painted six hotel rooms on the sixth floor, and corridors and lobby areas on the fourth, fifth, and sixth floors. This Demolition Art Group has made graffiti art for many buildings to be demolished. However, Helka hotel is not being demolished.

What it takes to the new Loft rooms, there are four of them on the 6th floor. We booked the biggest Loft Junior Suite which has a sauna. The ceiling is very high with a skylight. The decor is modern with Finnish design furniture.

The breakfast was pleasantly calm. The food selection was wide and of good quality.

Everything is lovely. The boutique style decoration. Nice room with nice facility. Lovely breakfast buffet with traditional Finnish food.

The location is in central Helsinki close to shopping and the main train station so very convenient. Great value for money.

The room was very cozy and beautifully designed. Every little detail was taken into account in practicality and interior design. We enjoyed every moment. We got a good night’s sleep in a soft bed and a quiet room. There were plenty of delicious and locally produced breakfast foods in the fridge and we got many vegan options, too.

All in all, everything was great and the hotel really exceeded our expectations.

The location is perfect – right in the middle of Rovaniemi with great restaurants/bars on the doorstep (not that you’d know at night – totally soundproof room).

Loved the design of our room (Hanki) – has everything you’d need and was spotlessly clean. Room serviced every day to keep it spotless too. Photos on rye website font fo it justice.

No faffing with checking in/reception desks as you get a key code. All the perks of a hotel with none of the hassle.

We had a query so emailed and got an instant reply from the very helpful/friendly Yolanda. Breakfast goodies are available in the fridge for breakfast in the room if you wish.
Definitely would recommend and wouldn’t stay anywhere else when we return, which I hope we do. Faultless.
