With 8 styles of accommodation spread amongst the island’s lush tropical gardens, Kurumba is a perfect holiday destination for all occasions. Kurumba is the Maldives in Full Colour.

The room that we booked (Deluxe Bungalow with sea-sight) was very specious, clean and comfortable – with complimentaries. You do not even need to bring anything with yourself to have an on-beach holiday.

In regard to amenities, Vihamana Restaurant serves different varieties of food and dishes for every kind of palate – fish, beef, vegetables and exotic fruits. There is a mosque on the island that any Muslim may have juma’a prayers with the personnel and other guests. I felt like at home here as a Muslim. Anyone that likes to do workout and other sports lke tennis, snirkling, swimming may enjoy the amenities here. Wifi is reachable almost all over the island and totally free.

Personnel was also very friendly, warm and helpful that made us feel extremely comfortable. On every occasion we had talks with personnel to get to know the local culture and understand people’s daily lives here.

First, I advise you to go there if you’re looking for quietness, privacy and peace of mind.

Second, I got a Villa with private pool so I didn’t need to go out much, because my wife and I wanted to spend time together.

Third, if you’re a Muslim couple/family this is the place for you.

My overall impression is that I loved the place. The staff is very friendly and helpful, the food was good and the variety was fine. There are more than four different kitchens so you will not miss anything and you’ll experience some new tastes.

The villa was clean and the housekeeping is done twice a day, the appliances inside are in great condition.

The ACs were more than enough.

If you decide to take the Male city tour, be aware that groups are divided into smaller groups of up to 3 because Male streets are very narrow, congested and a little dangerous for pedestrians. The tour is really short and there is not much to see there, however, you will experience the sense of being in a place so different even though it is just 10 minutes away from your resort and you will have the chance to have a take a glance to a Muslim city. It is worth paying a visit to the small museum and it is a good opportunity to get some souvenirs.

Wide variety of food, Halal which was amazing hardly any restrictions on what to eat for us. Great shisha at night by the beach and even better drinks.

Staff at the resort are so friendly and so attentive just genuinely the best customer service I’ve seen at a 5* resort, beyond my expectations. Usually pictures look much better than the location; for Kurumba pictures don’t do it justice.

Very nice place , very clean rooms and very friendly staff, nice place for a short stay , their coconut ice creams served upon arrival is just too awesome. their food is halal and the food at the restaurant is pretty expensive but nice.

The view from my room is simply breathtaking. Everyone is so warm and very friendly. It is not that hard to find halal food here!

Regarding the halal food, the hotel provides different options as we have guests of different nationalities and religions. However most dishes can be cooked in the halal way on request. We are quite flexible when it is about food references and always take them into account.

The 284 Rooms include 77 Jacuzzi Water Villas, 27 Water Front Villas, 83 Jacuzzi Beach Villas, 77 Beach Villas and 20 Garden Rooms.

At the restaurant, pork and non halal meats are clearly marked and separately prepared giving respect and confidence to muslims. As I said, muslim friendly resort.

They have different daily night activities to suit everyone’s interests. However, we spent our nights at the beach, lying on the beach bed, listening to the waves and watching the stars. It was really amazing.

Resort itself is a paradise. Amazing pool. White powdery sandy beach lined with palm trees. Crystal clear turquoise shaded water. Tons of sports activities (golf, badminton, table tennis, tennis, football, all water sports etc). Hence the resort is Incredible, beyond words can really describe.

As I am a muslim, there is a mosque in the middle of the island which is very clean and has a lovely pond outside. Practically every island resorts will have at least one mosque as it is a Muslim country.
I would recommend people to walk around the whole island which will take less than an hour and see the water villas on the east and north side of the islands plus the beach villas as well.

While I did that, I’ve seen a few wildlife like the heron, different kinds of crabs, different kinds of small lizards and a small shark close to the beach (don’t worry they are harmless).

At Meeru, we were treated to cool cocktails and facecloths and were given a warm welcome by the staff.
We were upgraded to the jacuzzi villa for 2 nights. The room was very nice and clean and well maintained . The rooms were cleaned regularly , just be aware of the ants outside. No Mosquitos in the room, but you get them outside, so take some repellant with.

We were on the full board package, and were allocated to Maalan restaurant for our meals. The food was exceptional , with a variety of food offered daily, that catered for everyone’s needs. During our stay, the menu was never repeated. The fresh fruit was refreshing on the hot days. Ahmed was our waiter and he was excellent. So were the chefs, who were always helpful and accommodating . Muslims won’t have a problem as most of the food is halal and the chefs will warn you if it is not. There are labels indicating it as well. There is also a mosque on the island.

The staff were friendly and were always ready to assist. We got to meet a lot of the locals who made us feel welcome. The Duniye Spa over the water was stunning. The service provided was of a high standard and the views stunning.

The island itself was well maintained. The street lights were being upgraded while we were there and there were some other renovations taking place. Although it was busy, it was also quiet enough to enjoy your privacy.

There are many activities and tours offered on the island so you won’t get bored easily.

Food
-The half board is enough food to satisfy you in a day.
-all of Maldives area are halal
-drinks & water are a bit expensive.

The staff are very friendly and the food at the restaurant we ate (specifically for guests in water villas) are halal (it’s a Muslim country) and delicious.

They had many choices though breakfast will always be the same spread. A clean and lovely kept place. I would definitely recommend this resort.

Immediately we fell in love with our little home for the next 7 days! A very well furnished bungalow, with lovely little luxuries.

The cupboard was very large with 2 umbrellas (This was very much needed)

The bathroom was next, excellent facilities and amenities include: shower caps, toothbrush/pasta, sewing kit, shaver and foam, soap, body lotion, comb, tissues, shampoo and shower gel. We also had an outside shower and washing line ( a mini garden).

The bed was a fantastic size and very comfortable, the ac easy to use and we also had a ceiling fan if we were still too hot!

We had a flat screen lcd tv with about 20 channels including, hbo, fox movie, star sport 1 + 4 (4 shows live premier league football) al jazeera news, national geographic.

A mini bar with drinks, the drinks were really not that expensive and 1.5l bottle of water was just $2.99 + 22% tax.

The mini bar had drinks like, wine and beer also soft drinks such as apple juice, fanta coke etc. snack like twix and mars were just $1 + tax.

You are given one free 500ml bottle per person , per day.

You also have a large safe which is very easy to operate, however, it was not bolted down.

We had a sofa and also a back door which led out to the beautiful beach and ocean. Outside we had two deck chairs and a tap which u could use to watch your sandy feet etc, excellent and very handy!

Our room was cleaned twice a day, once during breakfast and also at dinner time.

There is a large spread with many variety of food though it is very similar every day. Four types of juice are available for free (apple, mango, orange and pineapple)

Food include, halal bacon, halal sausage, beans, toast, omelette, croissants, a range of cakes, noodles, rice, fruit, cereal, yoghurt, and many more dishes. The food was very good and unlike many other resorts not once did me or my wife feel as if the food was undercooked nor did we suffer from any food related illness.

Please check if all meat is halal, however by my understanding it is, me and my wife are muslim so this was important for us and any meal we were not sure we simply asked a member of staff.

Free WiFi is available in the rooms.

Sun Aqua Vilu reef is accessible via a 35-minutes sea plane transfer from Male International Airport.

On a white sand island with coconut palms and surrounded by coral reefs, this posh beach resort is 35 minutes by seaplane from Malé International Airport.

The stylish thatch roof villas with bright tropical decor provide free Wi-Fi, minifridges and flat-screen TVs. Some have private decks and/or hot tubs and outdoor pools; others have infinity pools or are set over the water. The 2-bedroom suites offer kitchenettes, living areas and infinity pools.

There are 4 restaurants and bars, 1 serving pizza and 1 on the beach. Other amenities include spa treatments, a gym and water sports. There’s also a dive center, an outdoor pool and a kids’ club.

5 star luxury with the sand beneath your feet. The ultimate haven for honeymooners, sink into new levels of relaxation with the waves as your soundtrack. You’ll soon see why we welcome back so many familiar faces year after year.

Breakfast can be disappointing for some British; being a Muslim country, my wife missed her bacon, but as a muesli girl, I was as happy as Larry with the options available; fresh fruit and yoghurts, dried fruit and a vast array of breads and pastries – great doughnuts!

As half boarders, drinks were extra. The price was a little shocking – as drinkers, we spent serious amounts of money at the bar, but as a guide, you’d have to be drinking from dawn to dusk to make it worth going all inclusive. We racked up some seriously hefty bills at the bar but it was ‘still’ cheaper than going all in. Cocktails were around $9-12 and beers $6.

If you’re weighing up half versus full board, our advice would be do your research carefully. You’ll need extra money for lunch, drinks and any excursions or water sports.

Food range – a lot of Indian food (great!) and oriental (ditto!) and the fish was just exceptional. Remember this is a Muslim country, so no pork sausages or bacon for breakfast.

The villa was very clean and was kept that way thanks to 2 daily visits from housekeeping, we were never short of towels. Every single member of staff that we came across on the Island never failed to say hello… although sometimes it seemed like the appropriate greeting (depending on the time of day) had been rehearsed from a script! Lol, nonetheless, considering English is not their first language the ‘greeting’ was always welcomed.

We went all inclusive and would well recommend the same, being on an Island everything tends to be very expensive, and being muslim and none drinkers, the all inclusive option suited us well, as all we were consuming on the Island were soft drinks and water.

The Resort is perfect for those who just want a relaxing holiday where you can just laze about all day next to the pool, or snorkel in the house reef. Entertainment wise, the resort staff do try their very best to entertain the guests, but the entertainment on offer is very basic.

The food is wonderful, all halal.

The island is clean, luxurious and all the staff there are so helpful. The food is good.
some highlight points:
– welcoming: after landing on male airport, we have 1 hr domestic flight and after that 1 hr high speed boat. all of them already arranged by hotel and some persons find us. when we find hotel some persons from hotel by signing and fresh cold towel welcome us.
– Room: Very clean. we have direct access to ocean with private pool. just without enough dental kit for 3 persons and enough towel which after we informed them they will add more and more. it has one room which separated by drawer door from other hall.
– food: quality generally very good. they have a restaurant name is Zero degree which very good view of ocean. the best option stay from noon to night here. Cost is very expensive which acceptable within ocean. we select full board, but please consider some items in menu which the best one such as shrimp or stake is not include.
– All foods are Halal
– They serve Shisha at Zero Degree and the one other place like Turkish style.
– scuba diving: they are very supportive and this is very good experience. its cost about 350 USD per person
– Massage center: they have very clean massage center which each massage room has separate big room with full of facility. all masseuse are lady.
– all staff have trained before very good with big smile.
– they have special area for kids to play.
Breakfast is served at Magu (if you have purchased the half board) and there is huge variety of food on offer. For those preferring a European style breakfast there is a good selection of soft and hard cheeses, freshly baked breads (more than 10 varieties including a gluten free option) and fresh cold meat cuts, to American style eggs (no bacon as it is a muslim country) made to order, a huge Asian offering and Maldivian options to choose from, so there is something for everyone adults and kids alike.
The chefs and cooks are more than happy to prepare you something should you not find what you are looking for. The highlight for me was the freshly squeezed juices. I was able to order my beetroot, carrot, celery, ginger, orange juice just like I would in Bondi!
