Muslim Friendly Hotels Malta

Of the estimated 3,000 Muslims (typically under reported) in Malta, approximately 2,250 are foreigners, approximately 600 are naturalized citizens, and approximately 150 are native-born Maltese. The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community is also present.

How many mosques are there in Malta?
This is in the context that the Al-Batool Mosque is the only official Mosque in Malta, with more than fifteen other Muslims prayer houses scattered around the country such as; Birkirkara, Bugibba, Fgura, Ghaxaq, Marsa (Albert Town), Hal Safi (Open Centre).

Malta is a small island country, located in the Mediterranean sea and this makes it the perfect getaway for a summer vacation. Not expected by many but I find it super beautiful and Muslimfriendly. It has so much history, beautiful beaches, family-friendly activities and they also drive on the same side as the UK

The Muslim friendly hotel means a hotel that has Islamic characteristics that can provide basic facilities that are more friendly to Muslim customers such as a Qibla direction indicator, the availability of prayer tools, the presence of halal food / list of nearby restaurants that provide halal food

Halal tourism is a subcategory of tourism which is geared towards Muslim families who abide by rules of Islam.  Many international hotels in Malta do serve halal food that is slaughtered in accordance with the teachings of Islamic Sharia and is free of any substances forbidden by Islam such as pork and alcohol.

Other Islamic countries such as Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Morocco, Oman and Brunei continue to be popular with Muslim tourists. Among non-OIC countries, Singapore, Thailand, the UK, Japan and Taiwan remain the top five respectively, but show improved scores on the index.

HOTEL is STUNNING!!! an very relaxing. Staff cant do enough for you and with check-in comes a small tour of the hotel and guidance by reception staff on how things work and things to do; and there attitude and welcoming ways are equally amazing.
There’s 4 pools. 3 Outdoor and 1 indoor. while its a family place, there seems to be more adults and couples around and many while enjoying the bar’s are fairly quiet so don’t worry about noise and rowdy behaviour.
There SPA has some of the best treatments around ( i tried 3!!! ) so make sure you take extra money with you! the rooms are very Clean and spacious with FREE tea making facilities.
The TV is surprisingly good for those lazy days and bed very spacious and relaxing along with the room facilities. The hotel itself has a good selection of bars and Restaurant to eat from and offer a FREE room service for breakfast only, the buffet style is also yummy and plentiful.
The hotel also put on a daily free bus into the victoria ( city centre) which the guide then sets an agreed time & location for pick up which is amazing and highly recommended!!! take in the sights, sounds, drinks and food as the local bars/pubs and Restaurant are cheaper.
There are little bakeries which sell AMAZING pastries and yes even for Vegetarians and i would recommend the peas and the other ricotta one – i bought 4 of them ( 2 each) with 5 bottles of diet coke and all for 5 euros!
If your into diving and want to try it, the hotel offers this service in there deep end pool with the equipment and guide at 35 euros and more so if u practise in the open sea. There plenty of other sites to see and can use the free bus put on by the hotel so make sure to ask before going on your own.
FOOD – now if you either eat Halal or Vegetarian then while they are AMAZING at helping you by adding or taking away meat from dishes, the choices are a little smaller in that respect.
I stayed for 5 days and by day 4 i had had all there veg dishes. I do know that apparently there is a Halal meat shop on Gozo so if anyone has these requirements, the hotel have said that if they had been given notice they would have tried for it which is fair enough. More veg options would have been great but that why you have those amazing pastries for which came in handy!

This resort is a absolute gem of a place, best decision we made to book here. Located away from the City in Mihella close to the popeye village and not too far from the ferry port for your trip to Gozo. Getting everywhere is very easy as the buses outside the resort go all over Malta including Valleta.

The resort itself is fantastic from friendly staff throughout the resort. This is from reception to restaurant to kids club. We were pleasantly surprised how much there was available to do.

They have a sports bar for all the football lovers, bowling alley, pool table, arcade machines etc. We were excited when we discovered a kids soft play area which was a relief.

The restruant serves variety of food every day from breakfast to dinner which was delicious. I have to say what really made us happy is when we found out the resort was using some halal meat which as Muslims was fantastic as we could enjoy it fully. The Chefs were amazing, they truly made the effort with us by discussing the food preparation as were couldnt have certain foods especially desserts. Talking of desserts, they were awesome.

As well as the main restruant the resort also has Oriental, American and Italian restaurants which you have to book. Once again the food served in these places is top quality. They also have a snack restruant which actually has a lot of hot food.

The resort also has a decent gym and a indoor pool as well as a massive outdoor pool. Its a shame we didnt have time to use it but it looked really nice.

The rooms are cleaned on a daily basis, the cleaners do a fantastic job.

Malta itself is a beautiful Island and as we went out of season it was very peaceful getting around.

This resort made our trip wonderful. Everybody in the resort was very polite, helpful and accommodating. This has made our minds up on coming back again. Not only that but we have recommended this resort to our family/friends.

A fully inclusive hotel providing drinks as part of your meals. Nice rooms with basic amenities. Nice friendly staff. Basic sauna and good gym. Swimming pool was very big. Buffet had a large variety at lunch and dinner.

Staff helpful with halal food requirements. Found the restaurants with different themes to be poor as the food was the same as the main laguna restaurant.

Bus stop right outside to go to Rabat, mdina, Valletta. Social nights in the hotel were ok, and provided entertainment in the evenings.

The stay itself was perfect, the staff keep smiling the whole time.

The chefs Muhammad, kais, awali was perfect helping and answering every single question especially when asking for “halal” food.

Our room was beautiful. It felt like home for us and we had good night sleeps while we were there however the pillows were very large but this was rectified after we asked housekeeping staff for smaller pillows.

We had a country view room and there were campers outside the hotel on our side so during the evening and into the night they would be quite noisy which would prevent us from sleeping.

The hotel is secluded therefore we had to catch a bus everyday to go out to town but the rate of €1.5 per bus ride was cheap enough to make the trip everyday.

The bus stop is situated outside the hotel too so you’d never get lost on your way home.
We had booked 4 days breakfast while we were there and we were able to choose what days we wanted to go down for breakfast which was very good to have as sometimes we would wake up late or have an early excursion.

The breakfast buffet couldn’t have been better. We even had specially made halal chicken sausages and chicken breast which was brought to the table for us, they really considered their guests needs and made us feel comfortable during our meal.

The beach is just outside the hotel and was spectacular with clear waters and soft sand.

It wasn’t over crowded and it looked beautiful day and night as we would spend some of our evenings looking over at the sun setting over the beach.

The restuarants were expensive but we used to take the free shuttle to st Julians were the bus would drop us off near a HALAL doner kebab shop and we would take loads of stuff from there and from the supermarket round the corner from the kebab shop, as butter eggs etc were expensive from the hotel shop.

The room had a fully working kitchen so it was easy for us to get by without expensive hotel food.
