How many mosques are there in Sweden?
Sweden has a number of mosques providing the Muslim communities in Sweden places of worship.[11] The first mosque in Sweden was the Nasir Mosque, built in 1976 in Gothenburg by the Ahmadiyya. It was followed by the Malmö Mosque, 1984, and later, the Uppsala Mosque in 1995. More mosques were built during the 2000s, including the Stockholm Mosque (2000), the Umeå Mosque (2006) and the Fittja Mosque (completed 2007), among others. The governments of Saudi Arabia and Libya have financially supported the constructions of some of the largest Mosques in Sweden.

The Muslim friendly hotel means a hotel that has Islamic characteristics that can provide basic facilities that are more friendly to Muslim customers such as a Qibla direction indicator, the availability of prayer tools, the presence of halal food / list of nearby restaurants that provide halal food

Halal tourism is a subcategory of tourism which is geared towards Muslim families who abide by rules of Islam.  Many international hotels in Sweden do serve halal food that is slaughtered in accordance with the teachings of Islamic Sharia and is free of any substances forbidden by Islam such as pork and alcohol.

Other Islamic countries such as Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Morocco, Oman and Brunei continue to be popular with Muslim tourists. Among non-OIC countries, Singapore, Thailand, the UK, Japan and Taiwan remain the top five respectively, but show improved scores on the index.

Radisson Blu Riverside has become our regular hotel when we visit Göteborg. The hotel has everything we value, it’s clean, everything works and has an amazing staff.

Checkin and checkout is smooth, you can park your car outside if there is room, otherwise you can use the parking garage across the street.
The standard rooms we have stayed in are nice, spacious, have good bathrooms, safe, tv with lots of channels. There are things to make tea and coffee.

Air climate is good, you really don’t notice the air conditioning.
Decor is interesting and pleasing as in the entire hotel.

We have stayed on different floors but always had some kind of view that made it pleasing to look out the window.

Dinner at the “Cuckoos Nest” is excellent. You get the feeling that everything on the plate has been thoughtfully selected for you, not just a standard recipe thrown together. They have an interesting selection of wines, and also their own ale which was a citrusy refreshing thing.
I am getting hungry just thinking of eating there. And the staff is superb!

Location is good, its easy go get to by car. If you want to visit the city centre do take the short walk to the nearby harbour and take the riverboat right into central Gothenburg. Or even, as we did once by mistake, go the other way towards the sea and have a nice river cruise, its beautiful.

As a summary, all staff we met, from reception, restaurants and cleaning, are very helpful, cheerful and friendly.

Decor is something you enjoy looking at, not just colours.

We highly recommend this hotel.

Great hotel in Stockholm. Staff friendly and very welcoming on arrival. Apart from the restaurant they have their own pub called The bishops arms. So on the first night o need to walk to far. Big selection of food for breakfast which is all self service, ideal if you got a big appetite. Hotel room very clean and modern.

On arrival staff asked if you preferred a room with a shower or bath, which is a nice option. Stone throw from the main town and plenty of bars and restaurants within walking distance. Very enjoyable stay would definitely stay here again.

In the middle of Stockholm, yet in a rather quiet place, you find this great hotel. It’s next to a park, Humlegården, and in the area called Östermalm, so you have shops, restaurants, museums, boats etc. within walking distance. We asked for a really quiet room and got a nice room on the 6th floor.

The staff was very friendly and helpful at all times. Breakfast was great and was served until 11 o’clock, a detail we highly appreciated.

This was a decent room, with plenty of space. The bathroom was well equipped, but slightly annoying with the shower door inclined to hit the bench.

The front desk staff were friendly – & I enjoyed the licorice candies on the desk! We liked the location – near enough to metro, and a short walk from the waterfront, but away from the downtown hustle.

There was more of a residential neighbourhood feel, with the park across the road well used by picnickers make the most of long summer evenings. Two really good restaurants nearby – Hantverket & Proviant. There was a great breakfast provided.
