1. City View Motel 3* – Pet Friendly Accommodation Hobart

Step back in time with the 1960s architecture and ambience of City View Motel, which is located in Montagu Bay, a popular yachting spot across the river from Hobart CBD (Central Business District), Tasmania’s capital.

Escape from it all and enjoy the magnificent city and mountain vistas whilst relaxing in the comfort of your own room. You will be surrounded by native wildlife in an atmosphere of pure tranquillity.

High up on the eastern shore of Hobart’s Derwent River, by the footsteps of the Gordon Hill nature reserve, City View Motel offers open views of Mount Wellington, which dominates the skyline.

That my dog could stay in one of the pet friendly room . Also great view of the city and affordable price owner is lovely.

The room was comfortable and spacious, with plush carpet and comfy beds. As advertised, location has great views of the city. Front desk staff was very helpful with directions to city (car or bus service), and local places to eat.

Plenty of dishes and silverware to facilitate onsite eating in room. Nearby park ensures a view of Tasmania’s fauna (wallabies and pademelon).

2. Riversdale Estate Cottages 3*  – Dog Friendly Accommodation Hobart

Set amongst rows of vines and olive groves, Riversdale Estate offers self-contained cottages with views of the water and surrounding countryside. Hobart Airport is only a 10-minute drive away.

Each cottage at Riversdale Cottages Hobart includes a fully equipped kitchen with marble benches, provincial-style furniture and original artworks. Heating, LCD TV and a DVD player are provided.

All cottages have a beautiful selection of novel and books to suit all tastes, plus a lovely selection of board games. The award-winning wine cellar features pinot noir, chardonnay and sparkling wines.

We had the Seymour Cottage – great views, privacy on the balcony, very well equipped kitchen & apartment in general, great bathroom and clawfoot bath and nothing to fault – except we only had one wine glass (and 3 champagne glasses) in our apartment at winery and lots of local wine to enjoy!

The decor of the cottage was as shown on the property website and the view over the vineyards down to the inlet was very pleasant to look at. We started each morning with breakfast on the veranda while the friendly chooks came and kept us company. They are very tame and keen to come inside so keep an eye on them or they’ll be in your bed!

We really enjoyed our family Christmas in the cottage. It’s well equipped for making your own meals although the fridge was smaller than you would expect in a self catering cottage for multiple occupants.

3. Zero Davey Boutique Apartment Hotel 4* – Pet Friendly Accommodation Hobart

Located on the Sullivans Cove waterfront, Zero Davey Apartments offer a private balcony and flat-screen cable TV, just 3 minutes’ walk from the Salamanca Market.

Zero Davey Boutique Apartments are situated in the heart of Hobart CBD (Central Business District), only 5 minutes’ walk from the Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery. Hobart Airport is a 20-minute drive away.

The air-conditioned studios and apartments have laundry facilities and a well-equipped kitchenette or kitchen with a dishwasher and microwave. Some apartments also offer stunning harbour views.

Set in Sullivans Cove and a 7-minute walk from the Mona Ferry Terminal, this relaxed, apartment hotel on the waterfront is also a 6-minute walk from Theatre Royal, and a 12-minute walk from Salamanca Market.

The bright, modern apartments, ranging from studio to 3-bedroom, feature kitchens, sitting areas and flat-screen TVs. Some apartments provide wood-floored lounges and balconies with harbour views.

The hotel has a funky cafe and bar which offers free Wi-Fi and a casual grill menu. There’s also a fitness room and a sauna.

Friendly, tremendous service over and beyond expectation, Tom outlined an itinerary for our trip around Tasmania which was so helpful. It was really like staying with a friend. We stayed in a Luxury Waterfront Studio. The room was delightful, a wonderful view of the harbour, a very comfortable king size bed with excellent linen, a well set up kitchen with everything you need, a washer/dryer in the spacious bathroom and a spa bath. Good quality towels and toiletries. Everything has been well thought out and is very generous. The table and chairs on the balcony add to the whole experience.

This hotel is located in the best spot within walking distance of all the waterfront restaurants, bars, shops, Salamanca Place and the CBD.

We can’t say enough about the experience of staying at this excellent boutique hotel. Thank you for a wonderful stay.
