Birches was a fantastic option. Unique that we could have our much-loved dog with us, pet friendly in every way. Apartment was clean and well appointed; the bed was extremely comfortable.
Staff went out of their way to assist us. Birches was excellent during lockdown as each unit has separate air conditioning unit and is fully self-contained. Location is excellent we loved walking around the local area.
Easy walk to major sporting facilities, parks, and the city. Close to major hospitals and public transport links. Nearby shopping; and restaurants. Loved the secure off road parking facility.
Comfortable, clean, great location, and quiet. The staff were incredibly kind, helpful and genuine.
We didn’t have pets with us, but as dog lovers we had a feeling that a hotel run by people who like being surrounded by pooches was the kind of place for us. We were spot on! Every time we left the room we got to make a new four-legged friend.

I stumbled across Birches Apartments whilst looking for pet friendly accommodation as a stop over in Melbourne on our way home to Sydney after visiting family in Warrnambool.

I wasn’t expecting much, but needed somewhere pet friendly to stay with my partner and two small dogs.

The areas I found great:
– pet friendly
– clean rooms
– nice layout with plenty of room
– comfortable beds
– reasonable pricing

Very friendly and helpful staff. Excellent hotel for pets.
We upgraded to a suite and it was amazing. Super comfy bed, nice and quiet – as well as dark for sleep, something some places seem to forget are important. Great shower and bath, with a very special toilet that was more high tech than some cars.
Reception was friendly with efficient check in and out. Loved the melbourne touches throughout, like the graffiti spray can decorations and tram like lights. The mini bar is about the best one ever – the decor of the whole room is super cool.
The rooms were enormous and very comfortable, with a fantastic shower. In room breakfast was excellent, and the gym and pool area were great.
Lollo was just ok, with service that needs improving, however the cocktail bar was inventive and fun, with delicious cocktails. Will certainly stay again for our next Melbourne trip.

This will be my new go to place when I stay in Melbourne – great location on Lyndon Street. The rooms were just wonderful – so perfectly and thoughtfully designed.
Everything had been thought of – from great books to read by your bed, the marshall speaker, the very cool minibar, the super comfortable bed and pillows, the colour scheme and super cool decor, the bathroom, the wonderful mirror and lighting.
I do not have a dog but I loved that it was pet friendly and seeing a dog in the main lounge area was delightful – it felt like a home away from home.
I would describe this hotel as the QT experience without the QT price tag. Carlton location was great. Loved the room design.
Rooms were comfy. Double glazed windows meant that we weren’t bothered by street noise. I think this hotel is outstanding value. I hear it’s dog-friendly, I wish we could bring our dog to Melbourne!
The room has a coffee machine and coffee pots, as well as a mini-bar and wine rack, so you’re sorted for refreshments. You can also get food ordered to the room, if you want a cozy night in.
On BonBon’s bed, they set up a little love heart, chocolates and balloons.
There were also bowls for BonBon, and all in all the hotel was set up to be very functional for pets. We loved that there weren’t many cables lying around for a cheeky pet to chew through!
The food was good, and we ate at the hotel and in our room. If you eat at the hotel, try the chicken, it was absolutely delicious!
The restaurant and wine bar are pet-friendly, so you can take your furry friend along too.
We’d love for there to be more light in the main interior space, and it’d be nice if they had a kennel service or somewhere to leave your pet when you go out for the day.
Apart from that we loved everything about Zagame’s House, and it’s a great place to take your pet for a vacation together.
In general, a really good option to stay in Melbourne, location, good service, excellent rooms (Amenities, lighting, bed and pillows wowww).
AHHH, and it is pet friendly… very rare to find a nice hotel where pets can stay with you. The hotel provides beds, food, poo bags and everything they will need.

Had a great stay here with our dog Hank in one of the courtyard rooms. Comfy room, friendly staff and excellent location. Thanks!

I always try to stay at this hotel due to its excellent location and cosy rooms. It may be small but it’s tastefully furnished and decorated. Bathrooms may be a it small on some room types.

I was able to check in early after paying a small upgrade fee and I got to try out one of the courtyard rooms that was meant to be pet friendly. Room was nice cosy and the small courtyard added to the charm.

This hotel is clean and conveniently located great for pets staff was friendly and were helpful would definitely stay again. Great food in the restaurant again very friendly staff. Just down the road from Spencer st train station.

The hotel does claim to be pet friendly which would be good people traveling with friend. and pets. The location is handy and is close to transport and the riverfront.

Southbank is a short walk way. The U – bar pub/nightclub is next door for a quick drink. There is a cafe on premises and that does brekky. But there are many options on the street.

The staff are friendly and pleasant. The room was small but I knew about it when I booked so no issues there. The bed was comfy. But the most enduring memory would be the decor the the hot. It is delightfully retro.

One night stay, only one of the few dog friendly hotel in Melbourne CBD which offer dog bed & bowl for additional $30 per night.

Rooms for dogs are ground floor apartments with small courtyard to rear.

Room as a consequence are very small but beds comfortable. Service is excellent from all staff, very friendly and helpful.
