1. Pink Flamingo Resort 4* – Pet Friendly Accommodation Port Douglas

Adults only Resort Just 500 m from Four Mile Beach, the award-winning Pink Flamingo resort features a heated swimming pool, a poolside bar and an outdoor fitness centre. Each studio and villa has a private patio with outdoor seating.

The resort is a 15-minute walk from the cafes, restaurants, bars and shops of Macrossan Street.

All accommodation at Pink Flamingo Resort Port Douglas features kitchen or kitchenette facilities, air conditioning, flat-screen TV, iPod docking station and a private bathroom.

This colourful adults-only resort is a 15-minute walk from Four Mile Beach and the Port Douglas Yacht Club, and 2 km from the shops and restaurants of The Reef Marina.

The bright, funky studios and villas provide free Wi-Fi, flat-screen TVs and iPod docks, plus kitchenettes and terrace seating. Villas add outdoor baths, private courtyards and hammocks. In-room massage treatments are available.

Amenities include a heated outdoor pool surrounded by tropical gardens, plus a poolside bar, a BBQ area, an outdoor fitness room and a billiard room. Bike rentals are offered.

I loved the attention to detail! I travel with my dog and even she is well catered for.

The staff were incredibly welcoming and accommodating of us and our little dog. So many personal touches that made the villa our little home away from home!

The colourful decor, the peaceful ambience, the tropical setting, the privacy, the availability of good plunger coffee (very important for Melbournites!!) the dog-welcome policy and the honour system for the drinks fridge and the lack of rules and conditions i.e., we were treated as honest, reliable and sensible human beings.

Loved the pool!Great that our dogs didn’t have to be on a lead. Loved how private our little villa was.

We came here because of the pet villas but will return for the amazing party venue as well. The villa was great with everything you could possibly think of from doggy poop bags and dog bowls, mozzie coils, to all crockery, sarongs, bikes to hire and a gym. The pool area is unreal with sound system, drinks fridge that you pay for a the end, and an eclectic CD collection.

We were welcomed and shown around the complex, will definitely return and have told everyone about this place.

My partner, myself and our 7 year old puppy dog stayed for the night. It was so lovely to find somewhere in beautiful Port Douglas that catered for our special friend.

Our villa was stunning, filled with tropical vibes and colours.

Everything was clean and tidy. Included in the villa was everything that you would need, they even supplied pet bowls and blankets. There was attention to detail to the really small things, which was lovely.

The whole resort had a really nice feel, we would of loved to stay for a week because it just had everything especially if you were staying with your dogs.

Pool, complimentary bike hire, cute little library, bar, games all there!

Would highly recommend.

2. TiTree Village Holiday Apartments 3* – Pet Friendly Accommodation Port Douglas

Ti-Tree Resort features a large lagoon-style swimming pool, a hot tub, a BBQ area and a full-size tennis court. It offers affordable self-contained apartments.

The gorgeous Four Mile Beach is close by. Shops and dining are immediately facing the resort and all tours and transport stop at the entrance.

This low-key resort in a villa complex is an 11-minute walk from the Wildlife Habitat animal sanctuary, 3.9 km from Four Mile Beach and 4.9 km from The Reef Marina.

The relaxed 1- and 2-bedroom apartments range in style from trendy to low-key, and have patios/balconies, free Wi-Fi, flat-screen TVs and DVD players, plus washer/dryers.

Amenities include a tennis court, an outdoor pool and a hot tub. Parking is free.

. Ideal location for us, easy access into Port Douglas’s main streets, but far enough away that you can completely relax. We were very impressed with the Apartment we got and it had everything that we could of asked for in it.

Very Clean and modern. The staff looking after the property are great to deal with as we had a super early check out required and they were easy to deal with and friendly.

The pool area and tennis court are well kept and a good size for the property. Great Fish and Chip shop across the road, and really nice restaurant just a very short walk up the street.

Location wise, it is not to far away from an IGA as well if you wish to self cater. We will be staying here again, and completely enjoyed our stay here.

3. Lync Haven Rainforest Retreat 3* – Dog Friendly Accommodation Port Douglas

Lync Haven Rainforest Retreat is set amongst 20 acres of tropical rainforest within the Daintree National Park. Guests can get up close with kangaroos, swamp wallabies, snakes, frogs, lizards and a crocodile.

Each room is air-conditioned and includes insect screens, ceiling fans, bed linen and towels. All rooms are equipped with a kettle, toaster and fridge. Coffee, tea, sugar and milk are provided.

Boris’s Bar, Cafe & Restaurant features a specials board with soups, hearty meals and homemade desserts. Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, it offers both indoor and outdoor dining areas.

Have stayed in the accommodation once (with our dog) and have eaten here a few times now too, the food, atmosphere and staff was top class! They also went out of their way to cater for our baby and our toddler had a ball with all the wildlife and the playground!

The service was very friendly and welcoming. The cabin was lovely, clean and cosy, with friendly wallabies at our back door. Cassowaries came through the park each day to visit. Several easy forest walks surround the grounds, with beautiful scenery and a lovely stream. The highlight of our stay was the walking tracks at night. We saw many glow-in-the dark fungi and glow worms. Take a red light torch if you can, to see the variety of nocturnal animals.

The food at the restaurant was tasty and reasonably priced. Pet parrots were delightful and entertaining along with the beautiful pet snakes.
