Very relaxing and welcoming, lovely hosts, welcomed our trained dog as well, great walking in the Orchard, 5 mins from Restaurants etc, can’t wait to go back!

The property was beautiful. Plenty of space for the dog and kid to run around.

Quite and peaceful. Sue and her partner were accommodating and at the same time they gave us plenty of privacy.

The facilities were superb, but someone had taken the batteries out of one of the tv remotes!!

We booked the Westhaven Motel mainly due to it being pet friendly (small dog) for 4 nights while the interior of our house was being painted.

What a wonderful surprise we were in for. The Motel is so clean with all the amenities anyone would require. Being located in Pilot Bay, Mount Maunganui you are in walking distance from the shops and over the road from a safe beach.

The owners make you very welcome and nothing appeared to be any trouble for them.

We would highly recommend this Motel to potential travellers.

Perfect location straight across the road from Pilot Bay, A very short walk to the wharf, cruise ships, cafes, restaurants, cinema, parks and local shopping.

In the other direction a flat walk of just minutes to the base of the mountain, the hot pools and the beach. Kayak, paddle board and bike hire across the road from the motel at Pilot Bay. Accomodation was clean and comfortable.

This location is premium with a budget friendly price. It is popular so you need to book in advance. Have already booked to go back again. They also take pets in some rooms.

3. Summit Motor Lodge 3* – Pet Friendly Accommodation Tauranga New Zealand

Set on the outskirts of town, this straightforward hotel is 8 km from the Classic Flyer Museum and 11 km from both the historic Mount Maunganui and the rock climbing on Moturiki Island.

Bright, streamlined suites and apartments offer free Wi-Fi, flat-screen TVs and separate kitchens with dining areas. Upgraded apartments add whirlpool baths and additional bedrooms, while some have decks.

Amenities include an outdoor pool, a guest laundry, a business centre and BBQ facilities.

Great location, great hosts, very clean and tidy and the bed was so comfortable! Love the eco friendly vibe and the fresh milk in glass bottles was a delight to find in the fridge.

Cilla the little dog was an added bonus 🙂 Will definitely stay again and have recommended to family and friends.

Very impressed with the cleanliness, how friendly and accommodating the owner was and the fact that we were able to have our dog in the room. The beds were very comfortable. I would definitely stay here again.

We have become used to the fact that most pet friendly rooms in motels are grim. Not so at Summit Motor Lodge.

Excellent amenities, spacious and light-filled, beautifully presented and spot on service. We visit Tauranga regularly and we will stay here whether the dog comes or not.

The kitchenette is fully supplied with everything that you would need to use, the place is spotlessly clean & fresh, & well appointed. Good space in the bathroom & rooms.

Comfortable beds. The air conditioning was a blessing as this summer is hot. The free Wi-Fi connected quickly every time.

The pool & jacuzzi were clean & pleasurable. The grounds have been planted out beautifully & are very well maintained.

A very handy location to all central Tauranga, plus the Bethlehem/Judea areas, & the free parking felt secure.
