Overlander Stone Peak Restaurant and Lounge is located across highway 16 and offers a local dining experience.
The cabin was clean and cozy. The staff at the front office and the cleaning staff were fantastic.
Sharon from the house keeping staff was very friendly and informative. Folding Mountain Brewery has great for food and adult beverages. A great dog friendly place.
Studio cabin ( pet friendly one) was well equipped with all necessities … gas fireplace lovely… bed was very comfortable, 2 burner stove, small mini fridge big enough to hold some of our food.
he cabins are new, nicely furnished and appointed.
We stayed in a studio cabin equipped with a mini fridge, small stove top and dishes etc.
The grounds are very well maintained with grass areas between the cabins.
On our return trip the fridge in our cabin was not working. We contacted the front desk, they were quick to address the situation and moved us to another cabin.
A few points to note:
– There is not a lot close by for dining.
The Overlander is down the highway towards Jasper and Jasper itself is 40 – 45 minutes away.
Recommend heading to Hinton which is about 15 minutes east by car
– There are barbecues
are available on site, bring your utensils we did not see any in our cabin
– Depending on the season and weather you may miss the TV (none on site). Bring books or load a few movies on you laptop / tablet if needed.
– Is pet friendly and the larger floor space was great for our Newfoundland dog.

The hotel is not toddler friendly. We have a 2 year old and we got a complaint that were too loud.
We have a 2 year old it’s supposed to be a family hotel.
Thats what its like with little children.Lots of walking and hiking options around the hotel.
Fire during the evening… and during the afternoon on request! We loved our Whistler suite. Separate, but small room with television.
Fully-equipped kitchenette, with small refrigerator, heating surfaces and all the necessary. Renovated suite, but still has nice rustic look. We could not try all the facilities because of COVID (outdoor pool, gym, etc.).
We would still strongly recommend this hotel.
You can expect a 10-minutes drive from Jasper. You might see some deers on the road! In summary, excellent winter vacations for the four of us, including a 14-months old baby and little dog
Disliked · Wifi and tv channels for kids and restaurant needs vegan options. Hotel room could of had a dog bowl of its pet friendly and were paying 25 bucks a night. Forks and knives and toaster would of been nice to have in the room.
This resort is in a perfect location right on the lake surrounded by mountains, just a short 5 minute drive outside Jasper townsite.
Very nice rooms with great views. The outdoor hot tub is great (need to reserve when you check in).
Prices are expensive in high season, but a great value during off season. The weather turned out great for us for the beginning of December. Dog friendly.

Video Review of Tekarra Lodge
Tekarra Restaurant serves an expert-made choice of local and global dishes in a quaint setting.
Loved the location of the property, great trails to walk around in with our dog. We stayed in the Alberta Queen and found this to be somewhat small. The “kitchen” area is extremely small.
We were only there in the evenings I personally just hate the feeling of being “crowded” so for the amount of time that we were actually in the cabin I survived.
We will go back there however will probably try to get a cabin that is slightly bigger.
We stayed in The Ruby, cabin #44.
It isn’t on their web page but it is a nice unit with plenty of space, especially if you have your furry friends with you.
Two bedrooms, living room, ‘wood burning’ fireplace, large kitchen, smaller bathroom but large tub.
The units are older but are in great shape and well maintained and very clean.
If you have pets with you, staff supply Pet Sheets to cover the sofa and bed. Wifi is slow there but we made due.
The staff are really wonderful, and quick to answer and respond to any request. We love staying here, and have already booked for next year.

We were happy to have a room where dogs were allowed. The motel style worked well for us.
The location was great, easy to get to right off the highway and a quick walk to town. We enjoyed having a suite on the main floor because it made it easy to take our dogs out.
There is a grass field behind the building that was great for dogs.
They also offer kitchen suites along with a separate bedroom. You have access to their heated indoor pool, sauna, and an indoor and outdoor Jacuzzi.
When I bring my dog hiking with me this is our go to hotel in Jasper. Always friendly and clean rooms at a good price.
