We booked the King room with corner view. Room was smaller than expected but beautifully appointed. Bed was exceedingly comfortable – perhaps the best hotel bed I have ever experienced. The on-site restaurant was friendly, happy and delicious.

We had a great time with the staff and enjoyed every bite of our meals.

We traveled with our family dog and the property was very accommodating and very pet friendly (big bonus points from us).

My recommendation would be given the reduced amenities and service the prices should be adjusted to reflect such, but having no pet fees is nice.

Location can not be beat right downtown

I love returning to The Kimpton Canary Hotel in Santa Barbara for a weekend getaway from LA! First of all, the location is perfect. It only takes us less than 2 hours from LA. The hotel is only a few steps from the shops and restaurants on State Street, but not in the loud part of the town.

It is not walking distance to the beach, however, the hotel provides complimentary bikes you can take all the way down to the beach and back… if you ever feel like leaving this amazing property.

Also a huge plus for us is their pet-friendly policy. They LOVE pets, and they are not afraid to show it. My dog got a warm welcome from every staff member in the lobby. Her name was written on a welcome board together with all the other dog guests.

The restaurant Finch and Fork is amazing for brunch as well as cocktails, dinner, and watching games. The rooms are nice, comfortable, and full of natural light. We enjoy every time we come here.
