My husband and I stayed here with our two dogs (a husky and coonhound) on our road trip from Minnesota to Alaska.
We had never traveled and stayed at hotels with dogs, so our experience is based on learning that “pet friendly” can mean a lot of different things.
So we wanted to share our experience of the hotel in general but also specifically what it was like to find pet-friendly lodging.
Two things really stood out about this hotel: the location and the quality of the room.
We found that a number of hotels allow dogs in rooms that seemed more run-down than the hotel website advertised or pet rules made it seem like dogs were not actually very welcome.
This room was exactly as advertised. It did not feel that we were put in an old or unmaintained room.
The hotel didn’t have any rules about where our dogs could or couldn’t be in our room – they simply asked that if we leave them alone in the room outside of crates that we leave a cell phone number at the front desk.
We treat our dogs like our kids, so if you are like us you will feel most welcome at hotels (like the Park Town) that allow you to choose things like whether your dog can be on the bed, including for play or sleep.
Similarly, we appreciated that we could use the same entrance/exit as any guest with our dogs.
The walls did not seem too thin, which was nice for us but as for the pets it helped prevent barking at outside noises.
As for the location – being right next to the Meewasin trail is such a treat if you’re like us.
After traveling we wanted fresh air, a nice walk, and as a bonus it was a great place to walk the dogs.
The views from the trail are excellent, too. We’d come back to this hotel if we traveled back through Saskatoon.

Super clean, very quiet, fabulous room, friendly staff. We were travelling from British Columbia to Ontario to move and had 2 cats and a dog and this was the only hotel who didn’t charge a pet fee -awesome!!!
Love that the room was carpet free and had great lighting (something we noticed other hotels don’t have enough of).
Fast checking checkout. Staff friendly and would look information up if they didn’t have answers about particular events in Saskatoon. No problems at all.
Note: Service Dogs allowed no problem. Will be back.
We were thrilled to see that pets are now allowed at the property, which is a huge relief when you’re flying in with a furry family member and must stay in a hotel.
There was no added pet fee that I recall, and upon arrival, our shih tzu received tons of love, organic dog treats, a plush doggy bed, bowls and a placemat.
I was floored! The folks at the front desk were absolutely the friendliest we’ve ever encountered.
They came up to check on us and how our room was right away, and they brought up a lovely plate of chocolate covered strawberries.
I really wish I could remember name the gentleman the front desk who helped us check in… dark hair, unique name, younger… he even offered to come up and check on our pup while we were out to dinner.
Super clean room. Comfortable beds. Incredible staff. We’ll definitely be back.

The breakfast was good. It was nice to get a warm meal. I liked the spaciousness of the room. We received a toy for our dog that he has had fun playing with. Thanks for that.
We were travelling with our dog and the hotel had a goodie bag waiting for her with treats, a tennis ball and poop bags, along with a map of all the local dog parks in the city!!! Spoiled pup.
The breakfast included is also a value added must for us and offered a great variety. Additional perks are the pool (although a little cool for me), waterslide and hot tub, and always available coffee, tea, hot chocolate and fresh fruit in the lobby. The staff was very friendly and helpful too.
Make sure when you’re booking online that you don’t accidentally book a pet friendly room if you don’t need it.
We did (I’m still not sure where it indicates this) but the staff called to verify whether we needed it. Much appreciated.
Anyways! Long story short, this is an extremely pet friendly hotel with a pet pooping area, it has nice rooms and great breakfast and a nice water slide area.
We were unfortunate with the events that transpired when we were there but after driving across Canada and back, we have never stayed at such an affordable hotel for what it has to offer.
