Margaritaville Beach Resort Nassau offers a children’s playground. The area is popular for snorkelling, and car hire is available at the accommodation.

Great location near to McDonald’s, the US Embassy, shopping, a number of restaurants, and more, though many of these places close as cruise ships leave.

Right on a lovely beach. New facility with much thought in the design (loved the room sink handles and the Margarita lights in the lobby. ) Very clean. All the rooms have balconies with a postcard perfect view of the water and a lighthouse.

Lots of millennial friendly touches (tablet controls for the room and bathroom mirror switch is like on a smartphone). Room refrigerator. Fun to watch the daily cruise ship parade. Many staff are top notch, especially Lenten at the front desk. Plus, of course, the Waterpark.

he location is great–walking distance or a very short taxi ride to many downtown restaurants, shops and attractions (including Fish Fry–a dining must). The private beach area is very clean. I personally witnessed the staff cleaning everything morning, noon and night, which was greatly appreciated given COVID and all.

The food and service at Vacation Cafe and JWB steakhouse is very good. We didn’t try the other onsite restaurants, but they are likely also good.

The resort is brand new and physically beautiful. We kept looking around and saying “wow.” My boys loved the water park and beach. They used the slides and wakeboarding over and over. Every morning and noon, we ate at the coffee shop, Joe Merchants. The room was very comfortable, bright, clean, and offered a spectacular view of the bay.

We would watch the cruise ships come in and out. I liked the fact that my teenagers could be safe and relatively independent there, which allowed me to relax. The best part about our stay was the friendliness and professionalism of the staff.

3. British Colonial Hilton Nassau 5* – Pet Friendly Resorts in Bahamas

This Nassau hotel features a private beach, an outdoor pool and rooms with 32-inch flat-screen TVs. The hotel is 16 km from the Nassau International Airport.

Rooms at the British Colonial Hilton Nassau include a refrigerator and coffee maker. The rooms are equipped with cable TV and a private bathroom.

Guests at the British Colonial can relax in hammocks in the garden or go snorkeling in the Caribbean. The hotel offers a tour desk with information on area attractions and activities.

Overlooking a harbor, this sophisticated hotel is 2 km from both Ardastra Gardens (zoo) and Fort Fincastle, and 16 km from Lynden Pindling International Airport.

Refined, Colonial-style rooms have flat-screen TVs and Wi-Fi, along with minifridges, and tea and coffeemaking facilities. Some rooms have harbor views, and suites add separate sitting areas. Room service is available, and upgraded rooms and suites offer free breakfast and private lounge access with snacks and drinks.

There are 3 restaurants, a vintage bar and a fitness room, along with a private beach and an outdoor pool. Activities include basketball, sailing and snorkeling.

The beach was small, but very nice. It was nice and clean and best of all it was super quiet. We had a great view of the cruise ships and watched boats come and go all day.

The day pass comes with a $40.00 per person food and beverage credit. For this you can get an entree and 2 drinks per person, if you order carefully. The lunch items start at $14.00 for a hot dog and most drinks were in the $12.00 to $14.00 range.

The day pass also includes the use of snorkel equipment and kayaks. You can also use the hammocks in the gardens and the pool. The only thing off limits to the Day Pass people are the 5 cabana beds by the pool, which are reserved for hotel guests.

Location – Perfect, central location. Unless you wish to travel to the far flung ends of the island, this location is within walking distance of restaurants, shopping, and office buildings. This trip, location was my priority. Therefore, this hotel suited me just fine.

Rooms and Common Areas – The hotel decor and ambiance is your standard large chain lobby set-up. The aesthetic is very traditional and architecture styling is British Colonial – as the name suggests.

The dining and lounge area towards the rear of the lobby are more modern.
The rooms are old but generally clean. The shower could definitely use a good mold / mildew cleaning.

Aside from room doors opening and closing, I did not hear any noise. The rooms are well isolated from noises in the common areas.

Food – The food ranges from average to very good.

I did, however, enjoy one of the best hot dogs I’ve ever consumed – to the tune of $14 plus gratuity and VAT. That ups the segway to my next point. The food here is very expensive. Fortunately, there are lots of other choices nearby.
